Today, at exactly 11:30 p.m., a clash occurred between armed groups from Saraya al-Salam and the Federal Police (2nd Regiment / 19th Brigade / 5th Division), after members of Saraya al-Salam committed violations and attempted to force their way into the station, despite the station being closed.
– As a result, a verbal altercation broke out between the station guards and Saraya al-Salam members, prompting the deployment of a military force to the site, where the attackers were arrested.
– Later, Saraya al-Salam elements called in reinforcements from their groups to the scene, assaulted the holding force (the Federal Police) and the commander of the mechanized brigade, Brigadier General Staff Murtadha, and opened fire using various weapons.
– After the situation was brought under control, some of the detained attackers were transferred to the Sumer Police Station – Al-Shaab to take legal action against those outside the law.
