Aristophanes, in whose savage ridicule—perhaps!—the love of the ancient religiosity wages war with the self-seeking "enlightenment" of an already secular atmosphere, has, with sure instinct, in his comedy "The Clouds," selected Socrates as the very embodiment of the vendor of sophistries; contemptuously, he says that, with dialectical fallacies as a foundation, the sophist’s only purpose is to undermine tradition.
Likewise, he was a Sophist to the letter in his ceaseless war against traditional order and traditional morality.

Nietzsche goes so far as to attack Socrates as the instigator of the "revolt of the slaves in morality." Empires and Axiality
An empire is, by definition, an anti-Pagan multicultural, multinational state where, new additions to the imperial state are at first seen as second citizens at best, but eventually are either the majority or at least a constant, culturally relevant part of the society. Axiality is what creates empires, but it also destroys them like a virus it is. No connection to Blood and Soil makes the core nation of the empire weaker and weaker, accumulating a mass of new, foreign elements to the point where being a Roman means just being part of Roman Empire. When foreign mass reaches a critical point the empire collapses. All empires from China (Qin dynasty), to India (Maurya dynasty) and the West (Imperium Romanum, Russian Empire, British Empire) fell because instead of a steady foundation of Pagan particularism they chose anti-Pagan universalisty.
For years I’ve been telling people that communist star is just a variation of the star of David. The famous star in Kremlin was just jews putting their stamp on USSR since they founded it. By the way, Christmas tree stars are also a variation of magen dawid. The most common decoration christians use is ironically as jewish as it gets.

The Older Gulaþing Law states that if a man is a believer and sacrifices, he has fortified all his property (in money), and shall confess and do penance before Christ, but if he refuses, then he shall be outlawed. This must have been an effective action in order to dismantle the Old Norse religion in Western Norway in the Early Middle Ages. Similar regulations appear also in the earliest Icelandic law collection, called Grágás.

Why I don’t follow Adam Green in one simple comment. Pagans and atheists are not on the same side. Being anti-christian and being anti-religion are two different things. Ancient atheist like Xenophanes and Socrates were against pre-christian traditions long before christianity emerged.

Cult sites could, for instance, be called Gudhem; that is, “home of the divine powers.” We have one Gudhem in Västergötland and one well known Gudme (Gudhem) in Fyn, Denmark. The divine powers had in a concrete sense settled among the people on earth.

Recently I've seen a disturbing trend of some folks cozying up to judeo-christianity; trying to include it within our worldview as just another divine being among many.
Let us not forget it was the synchronization of christianity & ancestral faiths that lead to their destruction & to our current troubles today.
Some say, "we need to be friendly for unity," which was the exact call that led to our ancestors being burned alive & forced to follow a foreign religion, of a foreign people, of a foreign land, of a foreign entity, to our detriment, which we succeeded in spite of it, not because of it.
This same evil is trying to reappear to drag us back into the darkness. Judeo-christianity is dying in the West among Europeans, trying to preserve it for the sake of 'unity' was the same mistake our ancestors made.

Flashback over a sun and two moons ago where we gave a hot-take which made some upset.
Nature veneration, i.e. loving, respecting and taking care of the home of Gods, spirits, animals, plants & ourselves is an essential part of pre-axial ancestral faith systems. Once axiality takes hold, as we've shown, the land & everything therein suffers.
In hinduism, axiality is king, especially in yoga philosophy (its most popular sect). In yoga, their first principle is "life = suffering" and the whole goal is to escape reincarnation to die forever. According to them, the ganges has a current so strong it can wash away your sins while you're alive. Furthermore, if your remains are cast into it after death, the current is so strong, it'll prevent you from being reborn so you can die forever.
And this most holy thing, according to them, is treated so poorly with body parts, feces, industrial waste & islands of plastic, one cannot conclude anything apart from the potent toxicity in the anti-life nature of axiality.
The early Christian kings and the medieval church did everything to denigrate the pagan gods and the people worshipping them. They even had various literary strategies to rob the gods of their divine status or devalue them, such as euhemerism, demonology, and idol parody. Some of these strategies were thus applied by authors, for example, in the early chronicles and hagiographical texts written in Latin, but also in the medieval Kings’ Sagas and other texts written in Old Norse. These strategies were probably also used in oral performances, for example in sermons or in other gatherings at, for example, assembly meetings or in the chieftain’s hall. Although the early Christian kings and church wanted to eradicate the cult of the polytheistic gods and their myths, it seems that they did not completely succeed in this. The memory of the old gods lived on long after the official conversion was made.

Pagan boxer banned for PEDs
Performance-enhancing drugs have been a topic of debate for a while. What Pagan side has to contribute to it is rather significant since sport is fundamentally Pagan. Can one honor the Gods with a performance enhanced by illegal substances? No. Therefore when Pagans use drugs it’s an even bigger shame. Russian heavyweight boxer Alexander Povetkin has already retired, but he’s been disqualified 3 times for using PEDs. As an ex fan, I tried to defend Povetkin at first, but it’s a bad hill to die on. After a recent review of the man’s career I came to a disappointing conclusion that Alexander’s best fights were all on PEDs. A shame one of a few European Pagan athletes (though how Pagan he was is debatable) stained his legacy like that.
It seems as if the early Christian kings and their councillors primarily focused on the cultic activities when dismantling the Old Norse religion.
Snorri himself arranged his material in accordance with literary models and rhetorical devices that were common among learned writers in the Middle Ages. He framed his mythical narratives in, for instance, Ynglinga saga with the “The Learned Prehistory,” where the gods were euhemeristically converted into earthly rulers. These narratives were based on a pattern provided by Virgil’s Aeneid, where it is described how Aeneas left Troy and founded the empire of Rome. Similar to Aeneas, Óðinn left Ásgarðr, the capital of Ásaland in Asia, and travelled to Sigtuna in Svetjud, where he settled and founded the royal Ynglinga-family who descended from euhemeristically interpreted gods.
