The word ‘christ’ comes from a Greek word that means ‘oil, grease,’ but which was used in the Jews’ uncouth dialect of Greek to mean ‘a messiah,’ that is, a man appointed by the Jews’ tribal god to lead his Chosen barbarians to a definitive victory over the civilised peoples, whom they implacably hated. One of the cleverest tricks of the Fathers of the Church in promoting their cult was to give to non-Jews the impression that ‘christ’ was the name of a person, and even to this day many Christians ignorantly believe that their god was a man who was baptised “Jesus Christ.”

The philosophical aspects of the relations between these ‘new intellectuals’ and the sages…philosopher usually has a destructive attitude towards the knowledge and beliefs of the common people…his ideas are new, exclusive, and not for everyone. For these reasons, he is often presented as an anti-traditional character, and the champions of the traditional culture – including sages, and also poets – became the target of his blame.

“A tradition has been handed down from the ancients and from the most primitive times, and left to later ages in the form of myth, that these substances (i.e. sky and heavenly bodies) are gods and that the divine embraces all nature. The rest consists in legendary additions intended to impress the multitude and serve the purposes of legislation and the common weal; for these gods are said to have human shape or resemble certain other beings (animals), and they say other things which follow from this and are of a similar kind to those already mentioned. But if we disregard all this and restrict ourselves to the first point, that they thought that the first substances were gods, we must acknowledge that it is a divinely inspired saying."

The passage plainly enough states the view that the only element of truth in the traditional notions about the gods was the divinity of the sky and the heavenly bodies; the rest is myth.

Mindaugas

The founder of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. While strengthening his rule over Lithuanian lands, he faced a revolt by many nobles (including his relatives).
Mindaugas eased the situation by accepting christianity in 1251. This got him the support of the Livonian and the Teutonic Knights, but by 1260 he had returned to Paganism and routed the Livonian and Teutonic forces. Mindaugas and two of his sons were murdered by conspiring feudal lords.

Philosophy is not just non-representative of ancient Hellenic worldview, it’s opposed to it. Philosophers were openly against the Pagan traditions of their time, many were exiles and misanthropes. The best examples are definitely heraclitus and xenophanes, but there were others. The anti-traditionalist approach is the basis of philosophy since it's goal is to see some truth beyond Paganism, beyond the myth and Gods.
Some modern philosophers pose as our allies. They claim that men like plato, socrates, aristoteles etc were Pagan wisemen, even though this statement is contradicted by all three being considered atheists by ancient Pagans who not only knew them personally but also were definitely more in-tune with pre-christian worldview.
In reality philosophy is just dying and trying to leech off our revival.

Many poets and historians give the story that Phaethon, the son of Helios, while yet a youth, persuaded his father to retire in his favour from his four-horse chariot for a single day; and when Helios yielded to the request Phaethon, as he drove the chariot, was unable to keep control of the reins, and the horses, making light of the youth, left their accustomed course; and first they turned aside to traverse the heavens, setting it afire and creating what is now called the Milky Way, and after that they brought the scorching rays to many parts of the inhabited earth and burned up not a little land. Consequently Zeus, being indignant because of what had happened, smote Phaethon with a thunderbolt and brought back the sun to its accustomed course.

So he brought a young wife home…When night came, and her father and his wife had retired, the young girl locked herself up in her room, and feeling melancholy began to weep bitterly. Suddenly she spied a hideous black cat creeping towards her; its fur was aflame and its claws struck on the ground like iron. In her terror the girl sprang on a chair; the cat followed her. Then she sprang into bed; the cat sprang after her, and seizing her by the throat began to choke her. She tore the creature away, and flung it on the ground, but the terrible cat began to creep towards her again. Rendered desperate with terror, she seized her father's sabre which hung on the wall, and struck at the cat, wounding one of its paws. The animal disappeared, whimpering.
The next day the young wife did not leave her bedroom; the third day she appeared with her hand bound up.

A Sphinx, a beast of double form, had come to Thebes and was propounding a riddle to anyone who might be able to solve it, and many were being slain by her because of their inability to do so. And although a generous reward was offered to the man who should solve it, that he should marry Iokaste and be king of Thebes, yet no man was able to comprehend what was propounded except Oidipous, who alone solved the riddle. What had been propounded by the Sphinx was this: What is it that is at the same time a biped, a triped, and a quadraped? And while all the rest were perplexed, Oidipous declared that the animal proposed in the riddle was ‘man’, since as an infant he is a quadruped, when grown a biped, and in old age a triped, using, because of his infirmity, a staff. At this answer the Sphinx, in accordance with the oracle which the myth recounts, threw herself down a precipice.

There is a disconnect between the two forms of revival. A disconnect which is ancient & ongoing. The dialectic between that of the poet & that of the philosopher.

First arose the thesis, the poet. For from his lips come forth the beauties & tragedies of our existence, describing the interplay of various forces within a multifaceted world. Powerful stories which entrance the mind & touch deep within.

Then arose the antithesis, the philosopher. For the mind of some men are not content with embracing the mystery of the world. In his quest for unraveling such mysteries, he tries to rationalize the unfathomable.

Where one gazes upon a painting, opening dialogue between the artist, the art and the viewer. the other measures each brush stroke, the chemical composition of the paint reducing it to a formula. And therein lies the conflict between the holistic & intuitive, to the analytical & compartmentalization of life.

From the conflict of Homer vs Plato to that of Goethe vs Hagel; it is man's eternal struggle.

The “sky”-gods of Aristotle have nothing in common with the gods of popular belief, not even their names, for Aristotle never names them. And the rest, the whole crowd of Greek anthropomorphic gods, exist only in the human imagination.

Aristotle had severed the deity from Nature and placed it outside the latter as an incorporeal being whose chief determining factor was reason.

It may seem peculiar that with Aristotle it develops into a view which we can only describe as atheism.

Aristotle is among the philosophers who were prosecuted for impiety.
As regards the gods of popular belief, in his Ethics and his Politics he assumes public worship to be a necessary constituent of the life of the individual and the community.
But if we look more closely at things there is nevertheless nearly always a little “but” in Aristotle's utterances about the gods. Where he operates with popular notions he prefers to speak hypothetically or to refer to what is generally assumed; or he is content to use only definitions which will also agree with his own philosophical conception of God. But he goes further; in a few places in his writings there are utterances which it seems can only be interpreted as a radical denial of the popular religion.

As Ostara/Eostre approachs, let us look at the Goddess for whom the day is celebrated.

Ostara or Eostre (Easter*) is a holy day and season in Germanic faith which is named after the Goddess Ēostre in proto-germanic, or Eostre in Old English. This holy season is still bares her holy name, well after christianization.

To answer the question who is the Goddess Eostre, let look at Bede's attestation:

"Eosturmonath has a name which is now translated 'paschal month', and which was once called after a Goddess of theirs named Eostre, in whose honour feasts were celebrated in that month. Now they designate that paschal season by her name, calling the joys of the new rite by the time-honoured name of the old observance."

In truth, this attestation alone does not reveal much, other than ancient worship to a Goddess named Eostre around springtime. However this does disprove claims that, "easter comes from ishtar" which we hear from time-to-time. To figure out more about Eostre we have to dig into other sources.

"Inclusive" heathenry* ... you mean the "people" who literally worship the enemies of our Gods, who also do, support and promote things that would have gotten you exiled or executed by our ancestors?

It is not a controversial take to suggest people who do things that would have gotten you exiled or executed, by the ancients who practiced the religion, should not be considered part of the religion.

Also, every ancient pre-axial religion was an ethno-religion, that is literally why we use ethnic prefixes to distinguish which religion we are talking about. Ergo, trying to redefine ancestral ethnic faiths into universalist ones is going against the wills of the ancestors, who were exercising the wills of their Gods. Ipso facto, universalist play-gans are anti-gods and therefore anti-pagan.

I thank the Gods that the marvel/vikings-tv-show AC & GOW play-gan larpers are leaving the Germanic Faith spheres in droves; but unfortunately, they are still a force that needs to be dealt with from time-to-time, for now.
