The apps you use aren't random—they're choosing YOU based on your brain chemistry
I just had this mindblow moment scrolling Twitter and need to share it.
Someone pointed out that text-heavy apps naturally attract autistic users (who often prefer text communication), while "dopamine slot machine" apps attract ADHD brains that are literally starving for that neurochemical hit.
This isn't a bug. It's the entire business model.
Think about it: - TikTok's infinite scroll = dopamine IV drip for ADHD brains - Reddit's upvote system = variable reward schedule (literal slot machine psychology) - Mobile games with daily rewards = exploiting time blindness and reward sensitivity - Even productivity apps with streaks and gamification = hijacking our dopamine-seeking behavior
We're not "addicted" to these apps because we lack willpower. The apps are literally architected to exploit our specific neurochemical deficits.
The scary part? Most ADHD productivity apps are now doing the SAME THING. They add points, streaks, and badges not to help us—but because they know our brains will compulsively return for the dopamine hit.
The question isn't "why can't I stop using this app?"
It's "was this app designed for MY neurotype, or to EXPLOIT my neurotype?"
Apps don't just attract users. They attract *specific brains*. And right now, dopamine-starved brains are the most profitable market segment in tech.

YouTube blocking and hide channel.
I don't have screenshots, but you can try it yourself.
Block, or "hide channel" , videos will still appear in suggested feed. Even if history is cleared.
I'm trying to remove brain dead stupid videos for my child as they are moving on from YouTube kids.
I can't get rid of them fast enough, it's like a Hydra, multiple heads show up.
Yes I try to keep him away from YouTube period, but it does happen when I need a digital sitter for a few minutes and he doesn't want to play his games. Which I prefer to YouTube.
Either way, YouTube should have a block button, and hold on to your preferences.
