Asshole design is when a system lies to you on purpose.
When you click "Delete" on a conversation in Google AI Studio / Gemini, the UI shows a trash can, gives you a deletion prompt, and the chat vanishes from your screen. You think your data is gone, right? Wrong.
I did some forensic digging and found out this is a deliberate UI trick (Dark Pattern) to retain user data while faking GDPR compliance.
Here is the proof that the "Delete" button is just a "Hide" button:
The "Accountability" Irony: As a test, I created a prompt specifically named "AI Kényszerít Elszámoltatást" (AI Forces Accountability). I hit delete, and it vanished from my AI Studio library. However, my Chrome History logs (which only log active, accessible data) proved the server was still actively accessing and serving that exact prompt weeks later. The AI literally forced a confession out of Google’s backend.
The Data Stays Alive: Weeks after I "deleted" my chats, they were still fully accessible via their direct URLs. They weren't just in a passive backup; the system was still pulling them as live, active data.
The Server Confirms It: I actually managed to click "Share" on a previously deleted chat using a saved HTML state. Google's backend successfully processed the request and generated an official SMTP bounce email (signed with Google's DKIM) containing the internal docs-share Object ID. The server actively interacted with data that I had "deleted" weeks ago.
The Terms of Service Loophole: I checked their privacy docs to see if this was a bug. It’s not. Their TOS literally states: "deleted items disappear from your visible list."
They intentionally don't use the word "erase". They designed a fake Delete button to give you a false sense of privacy, while the backend continues to store, process, and retain your AI prompts for "human review" and retention up to 3 years.
This isn't a server sync delay or a caching bug. This is Obstruction by Design. They built a UI that actively deceives the user about the lifecycle of their personal data.
(For the tech/privacy nerds: I've already submitted the 80+ vágatlan screen recordings, the SMTP bounce headers, and the IssueTracker logs to the EU Data Protection Authorities. The bureaucratic cover-up is a whole other nightmare.)

YouTube Android App - Autoplaying Shorts on launch
In the last few weeks, the YouTube app on android has started launching straight into playing random Shorts videos as soon as the app opens, about 60% of the time, with no option to disable.
I found it so egregiously annoying, that I ended up disabling the entire YouTube app on my phone, installing an extension in Firefox that completely blocks YouTube Shorts, then setting the Firefox bookmark as a PWA on my homescreen where the YouTube app icon used to be.
Now I never need to look at their lame-ass TikTok-wannabe crap ever again!

The pop-up states something along the lines of "some discounts have expired" with a standard "OK" prompt.
This relies entirely on confirmation fatigue. In modern web environments, we are conditioned to blindly dismiss intrusive pop-ups (cookies, newsletters, app prompts) to reach our objective. AliExpress knows this. By disguising a critical change in the transaction's parameters (the final price) as a routine system interruption, they trick the user's muscle memory into clicking "OK".
The moment you click it, the system immediately authorizes the payment at a new, higher price point. There is no secondary review of the new total.
This is an asymmetric bet against the consumer. The price increase is usually marginal—just a few euros. The system architects have calculated the exact friction required to reverse the transaction. They know that the time and effort required to navigate the cancellation process, wait days for a refund, and source the items again from different sellers heavily outweighs the loss of a few euros.
Most users will simply accept the loss rather than deal with the artificial friction of the refund loop.
In conclusion: This is mathematically calculated conversion optimization at its most unethical. It violates the basic premise of a transparent transaction. If you link your existing Disney+ account to the Disney+/Hulu bundle included with Xfinity internet, your account becomes **fully managed by Xfinity**. Once that happens:
* You **cannot** manage your subscription on Disney's site
* Disney support **won't** help — they say Xfinity controls it
* Xfinity support **can't** remove it — they say it's part of your internet bundle
You're stuck in a loop where nobody owns the problem — and five agents later, nobody has solved it either.

* **Agent 3 (Vinayak):** Gave me the same login-and-cancel steps. Then acknowledged a pending ticket and said he'd "prioritize" it. Disconnected.
* **Agent 4 (Khushi):** Also gave me the login-and-cancel steps — for the fifth time. When I pushed back, offered to cancel it in "2-3 days." When I said I'd been told this 8 days ago, told me to call a phone number to cancel my internet instead.
At no point did anyone actually resolve the issue. The ticket is still open.

I pay for X Premium and use their official paid API. Today I was banned by a bot for "botting" and told to follow on-screen instructions that don't exist. Here is my appeal.
I am a developer and I pay for X Premium.
I built a custom Android app that takes a link, watermarks it, downloads it, digital-fingerprints it, and posts it using X's official, paid API.
is manual, original, entertaining content. Not a bot farm. Not spam.
I was hit with an automated suspension for "inauthentic behavior".
I appealed, and their automated system denied it, sent me contradictory emails, and refused to cancel my billing.
Premium support doesn't exist. It is a brick wall. I sent them this appeal today, though I doubt a human will ever actually read it. Sharing here as a warning to other devs and creators.
My Appeal to X Support:
My account got suspended because of inauthentic behavior. I believe this is because I posted from the API.
1. The paid API is there for a reason. You can post from it for a reason. I wasn't spamming, wasn't click-baiting, wasn't click-whoring. I was giving good, original, and entertaining content. Nothing wrong.
2. "But it's automated???" It's automated but triggered manually. I'm a developer and I built an Android app where I put a link into it—it watermarks, downloads, digital fingerprints, and posts. That's all. NOT a bot farm. NOT automatic pulling and pushing.
3. Look before you ban. Before you suspend an account for allegedly being automated—LOOK first if it's good content, if it's stealing others' content, if it's spamming non-stop, etc. Don't just BAN for using an API that YOU GUYS ADVERTISE ON X.
4. Premium subscribers deserve normal support. LET US CHAT WITH AN AGENT! Don't just freaking send a message saying "your premium subscription will NOT automatically be cancelled EVEN though you are suspended."
5. The "Instructions" lie. When you send me an email that you reviewed my appeal and still found me guilty, don't freaking say: "In order to restore account functionality, you can resolve the violations by logging into your account and completing the on-screen instructions." Because THERE AREN'T ANY F*CKING INSTRUCTIONS SHOWING UP THERE!
6. Response times are a joke. When you guys suspend an account, and the user appeals—ANSWER HIM RIGHT AWAY! NOT A WEEK LATER!
7. Be human. When someone appeals with a message like this, don't ignore the person. Listen to him! That's all.

Unsuspend my account, or cancel my premium subscription and refund me every penny I ever gave you.

TL;DR: Paid for X Premium, used their official paid API exactly as intended to post original content. Got banned for "inauthentic behavior." Automated support told me to follow non-existent instructions to fix it, while keeping my subscription active. Support is completely dead.
