❗️MOSCOW, May 9 - RIA Novosti. A motor rally under Russian flags took place in Sydney in honor of Victory Day on May 9, despite attempts by local police to restrict the festive event, Russian activist in Australia Semyon Boikov, known as the "Australian Cossack" and the organizer of the event, told RIA Novosti.

«"A large group of bikers was supposed to accompany trucks with holiday banners. The police demanded that they split into small groups - a maximum of two people. They were sent scattering, dispersed," Boikov said in a conversation with the agency.

According to the organiser, Australian law enforcement officers subjected truck drivers to thorough checks: they took DNA samples, conducted drug tests, and inspected their vehicles, including tyres.

"They also banned hanging Russian flags on cars, citing the fact that they create a dangerous situation on the roads, that the flags allegedly block the drivers' view. If these are football flags or sporting events, and fans are driving, no one objects. Apparently, this was a directive from above," Boikov emphasized.

He noted that several participants, mostly Australian citizens , were issued fines totalling A$481 ( US $308 ) for displaying the flag on vehicles.

As the organizer specified, more than a hundred people took part in the event. It was dedicated not only to the anniversary of the Victory, but also to support the fighters of the special military operation.

Patriotic events dedicated to Russian national holidays are regularly held in Australia. The last time a motor rally under Russian flags was held in Sydney in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23.

❗️СИДНЕЙ, 9 мая. /ТАСС/. Более 150 человек приняли участие в торжественной церемонии в честь Дня Победы, прошедшей в крупнейшем городе Австралии Сиднее. Сотрудники российской дипмиссии, представители общественных организаций и русского сообщества возложили венки и цветы к памятному знаку, установленному в честь советских воинов-освободителей в городском парке Waverley.

После завершения митинга праздничные мероприятия продолжились автопробегом, организованным казаками. В год празднования 80-й годовщины Победы в Великой Отечественной войне в нем приняли участие не только легковые автомобили, украшенные российскими и советскими флагами, георгиевскими лентами и Z-символикой, но и большегрузные машины с транспарантами и плакатами, посвященными Дню Победы.

Автопробег под российскими флагами прошел в Сиднее в честь Дня Победы 9 мая, несмотря на попытки местной полиции ограничить проведение праздничной акции, сообщил РИА Новости российский активист в Австралии Семен Бойков, известный как "австралийский казак" и выступающий организатором мероприятия.

«"Большая группа байкеров должна была сопровождать грузовики с праздничными плакатами. Полиция потребовала, чтобы они разбились на мелкие группы - максимум по два человека. Их отправили врассыпную, разогнали их", - рассказал Бойков в беседе с агентством.

По словам организатора, австралийские правоохранители подвергали водителей грузовиков тщательным проверкам: у них брали ДНК, проводили тесты на наркотики, осматривали транспортные средства, включая шины.

"Также запретили вешать (российские - ред.) флаги на машинах, ссылаясь на то, что они создают опасную ситуацию на дорогах, что флаги якобы блокируют обзор водителей. Если это футбольные флаги или спортивные мероприятия, и фанаты ездят, никто не возражает. Видимо, это была директива сверху", - подчеркнул Бойков.

Он отметил, что за размещение флага на транспорте нескольким участникам, преимущественно гражданам Австралии, были выписаны штрафы в размере 481 австралийских долларов (308 долларов США).

Как уточнил организатор, более сотни человек приняли участие в мероприятии. Оно было посвящено не только годовщине Победы, но и призвано поддержать бойцов специальной военной операции.
Патриотические акции, приуроченные к российским национальным праздникам, регулярно проходят в Австралии. В последний раз автопробег под российскими флагами был проведен в Сиднее в честь Дня защитника Отечества 23 февраля.
