❗️Altercarion over Z shirt ar a carpark in Moscow leads to an arrest of a Serbian SMO veteran.

Serbian citizen Marko Jovanovic, a member of the SMO is now under house arrest.

He was charged with hooliganism with the use of weapons in one of the capital's districts.

According to Jovanovic himself, the conflict took place in a parking lot in one of the central districts of Moscow, where he lives, with an unknown man who began to threaten him because of the symbols on his clothes with the letter Z and the St. George ribbon.

❗️Political leaders in the French overseas territory of New Caledonia reached an agreement about the archipelago's future on Saturday. This includes the creation of a State of New Caledonia, which will be written into the French Constitution.

The agreement allows residents of the territory to hold both French and New Caledonian nationality. It also sets out financial understandings with Paris to benefit the islands, located in the Pacific Ocean to the East of Australia

Sonia Backes, the leader of the loyalists – descendants of French settlers – said that while the compromise "would not fully satisfy anyone" it provides a way out of "the spiral of violence, uncertainty and destruction".

"New Caledonian nationality takes nothing away from our membership of the Republic or our French nationality," she added.

The agreement still needs to be ratified by Caledonians with a local referendum.

For a year now, Russian citizens Mrs Kira Korolev and Mr Igor Korolev have been held in custody in Queensland on charges of 'preparing to commit an espionage offence'. Since their arrest on 12 July 2024, a lot of PR work has been done by Australian officials and media to persuade the local public of this couple being 'Russian spies'.

However, after such a 'sensational exposure', no genuine 'irrefutable evidence' has been presented in twelve months. The official indictment still hasn't been filed. Court hearings have been repeatedly postponed, as the prosecution keeps requesting additional time to review the case materials.

These delays show the Korolev case is falling apart. At the same time, they present a political opportunity to inflate spy mania and stir up anti-Russian hysteria. They have become a means to exercise strong psychological and physical pressure on the Korolevs by keeping them in jail indefinitely. All this is inadmissible and causes grave concern of the Russian side.

It is high time proclaimed 'democratic values' are upheld through actions not rhetoric. Keeping citizens in custody under vague pretext using the infamous 'highly likely' formula runs contrary to core principles of law and justice.

Ensuring the respect of the rights and legitimate interests of our citizens has always been and remains a key priority for the Russian Embassy and Consulate-General in Australia. We shall continue monitoring the situation and taking the necessary steps, including rendering consular and any other assistance within our competence.
