❗️Tens of thousands of pro-Palestine protesters are expected to be out in force today across Melbourne and Sydney following a last-minute decision to greenlight a march across the Harbour Bridge.

Transport NSW has warned commuters to brace for travel chaos today as the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge is shut down for a rally for several hours.

It is expected the bridge will be shut down to traffic from 11.30am until 4pm today.

The Supreme Court ruled in favour of the pro-Palestinian protest, organised by the Palestine Action Group, after the NSW police commissioner sought to prohibit the march on public safety grounds.

A heavy police presence is expected as officers are pulled from their core duties in local area commands across the city.

Hundreds of officers will be deployed to target "unlawful and anti-social behaviour", NSW Police confirmed today.

Craig Moran from Transport for NSW said authorities would start shutting down the bridge from 11:30am and warned of changes to bus routes, along with an anticipated "very busy" rail network.

On August 2, 1930, during exercises of the Moscow Military District, a parachutist unit for the first time completed a task of landing behind the lines of a simulated enemy and neutralizing it. From this day began the history of the legendary Airborne Forces, which celebrate their 95th anniversary today.

The high level of training, skillful use of modern means of armed combat, and extensive combat experience of airborne troops allow them to effectively solve the most complex and responsible tasks, remaining a reliable reserve of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The heroism of the "winged infantry" was forged in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, in Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, the North Caucasus, Syria, and many other hot spots. And today, during the special military operation, the personnel of the Airborne Forces act skillfully and decisively in key areas and directions. For displayed courage and heroism, 99 people have been awarded the high title of Hero of Russia.

In the face of new challenges and threats, increasing the combat potential of the Airborne Forces as an effective tool for protecting Russia's interests and ensuring its security remains one of the priority directions in the development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
