The two leaders discussed recent visits to Moscow and Kiev by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Trump emphasized the need to bring the conflict to an end, which he said could pave the way for a broader improvement in Russia-U.S. relations.

Putin and Trump also agreed to continue humanitarian efforts, including prisoner exchanges, and maintain contact when necessary.

❗️Deputy Chairman of the DPR People's Council Andrei Kramar is preparing an appeal proposing to negotiate an exchange of Australian citizen Oscar Jenkins, convicted of participating in hostilities on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, for Simeon Boikov and the married couple Kira and Igor Korolev.

According to Kramar, after the document is sent, the proposal is planned to be submitted to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for diplomatic discussion with the Australian side.

Kira and Igor Korolev were arrested in Australia in July 2024 on suspicion of spying for Russia. According to Australian investigators, Kira Korolev, who was serving in the Australian Armed Forces, visited Russia during vacation and asked her husband to access her work account and provide her with official information.

The Russian Embassy in Australia previously stated that the case was being used for a new wave of anti-Russian propaganda.

Simeon Boikov gained notoriety in Australia after participating in protests against COVID-19 restrictions and later began publicly supporting Russia. After attempts to detain him, he took refuge in the Russian diplomatic mission in Sydney, from where he continued his public activities through social media.

Супруги Королевы, имеющие российское и австралийское гражданство, находятся под стражей в Австралии по обвинению в шпионаже, обоснованность которого российская сторона ставит под сомнение. Дженкинс, воевавший на стороне украинских вооруженных формирований, осужден в Луганской Народной Республике к длительному сроку лишения свободы.

Возможность такого обмена ранее публично предлагал наш однопартиец Виктор Анатольевич Бут – человек, который сам прошел через тяготы заокеанского узилища и вернулся в Россию в результате обмена. Считаю необходимым придать этой инициативе предметное парламентское продолжение. Попросил Леонида Эдуардовича поддержать предложение на уровне комитета Государственной Думы по международным делам и содействовать его передаче в Министерство иностранных дел для дальнейшей дипломатической проработки с австралийской стороной. Опыт возвращения Виктора Анатольевича Бута и Романа Валерьевича Селезнева показывает, насколько в таких вопросах важны последовательная работа и участие пользующихся заслуженным авторитетом профессионалов, способных помочь на федеральном уровне.

Владимир Олегович был человеком твердой воли и доброго сердца. Честный и надежный, искренне верующий, настоящий патриот России, он всегда был готов прийти на помощь, поддержать словом и делом, подать руку в трудную минуту.

Его отличали внутреннее достоинство, принципиальность и особое человеческое тепло. На него можно было положиться - и в серьезном деле, и в самых простых жизненных ситуациях.

Заслуги Владимира Олеговича отмечены нагрудным знаком МИД России «За взаимодействие», которым он был награжден в Посольстве в Каракасе в июле 2025 года.

❗️One Nation’s Warren Pickering admits to illegal drug use and says he is ‘no angel’ in extraordinary press conference

Accompanied by James Ashby, One Nation’s national director, and his daughter and stepson, Pickering said he was “no angel” as a young man and used ecstasy, methamphetamine and speed in his 20s.

Ashby also spoke, telling reporters a handwritten note from Pickering published by The Australian, which references “sexual deviance”, was in relation to “behaviour that involved the couple’s open relationship”.

“They opened that relationship to a third person, and at the same time, Mr Pickering was exploring his own sexuality,” Ashby said.

For the sake of his daughter and three stepsons, stopped using drugs and joined the Australian Defence Force, which he said gave him a sense of purpose.

❗️Grassroots Labor group urges Albanese government to chart course away from ‘American war machine’

The US has “led Australia into wars of aggression” for 50 years, internal party campaign group Labor Against War has argued, urging the government to chart a foreign policy independent “from the American war machine”.

The Australian government has defended the growing presence of the US military on the Australian continent, insisting the defence sites “are Australian bases under Australian control”, despite evidence the US military controls more than a dozen bases on Australian territory.

On Monday, the Guardian published data showing the US military, and US weapons manufacturers, control or have access to more than 100 bases across the Australian continent.

The Guardian has detailed 17 military facilities on Australian soil which are controlled by the United States military. The military has access to 75 more Australian-run bases, and US defence corporations access to 18 more.

In total, the US military and American defence corporations have control of or access to 110 facilities on Australian territory, well over half of all the military installations in Australia.

❗️DNR Faction Proposes High-Profile Prisoner Swap Involving Convicted Australian Fighter and Accused Spies

DONETSK — A senior official in the Russian-backed Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) has formally requested Moscow’s assistance to initiate a high-stakes prisoner exchange with Australia.

In an official document dated September 2, 2026, Alexey Kramar, Deputy Chairman of the DNR’s People’s Council and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) faction, addressed Leonid Slutsky—head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs—urging him to facilitate a trade involving captured Australian mercenary Oscar Jenkins and three Russian citizens held or sheltered in Australia.

According to the letter, the DNR leadership is advocating for the release of Oscar Jenkins, an Australian national who fought alongside Ukrainian forces before being captured and sentenced to a lengthy prison term in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR).

⚡️In return, the proposal calls for the release and return of:

Simeon Boikov: A pro-Russian activist and Cossack leader who has resided inside the Russian Consulate General in Sydney since 2022 to avoid Australian authorities.

Kira and Igor Korolev: A Russian-Australian dual-national couple arrested in Brisbane in July 2024 on espionage charges after Kira, an Australian Army private, allegedly attempted to transmit sensitive defense information to Russia.

Writing on official LDPR faction letterhead, Kramar petitioned Slutsky to bring the proposal directly to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) to begin diplomatic negotiations with Canberra.

Kramar highlighted Slutsky’s track record in securing the release of Russian citizens detained abroad, explicitly referencing the high-profile returns of arms dealer Viktor Bout and cybercriminal Roman Seleznev from U.S. custody.
