Stability AI unveils early preview of Stable Diffusion 3.0

The latest iteration, Stable Diffusion 3.0, a text-to-image generative AI model, focuses on enhancing image quality and performance, particularly in generating images from multi-subject prompts. Notably, it addresses typography issues, a former weakness of the Stable Diffusion series, to ensure more accurate and consistent spelling within generated images.

Stability AI is developing Stable Diffusion 3.0 across various model sizes, ranging from 800M to 8B parameters.

Google is set to introduce native support for "Private Space" on Android, enhancing the security of your sensitive apps.

Accessible from the bottom of the app drawer, Private Space can be manually hidden. When locked, Private Space not only prevents notifications but also remains concealed in permission manager, privacy dashboard, and other settings. However, unlocking it also reveals hidden apps.

Flipboard begins transitioning its user accounts to ActivityPub, marking its journey towards becoming a Fediverse platform akin to Mastodon, Threads, Pixelfed, Firefish, and PeerTube. Users with a flipboard.com account will have the ability to follow and engage directly with individuals on Mastodon, Threads, and other ActivityPub apps from within the Flipboard app.

flipboard.com serves as a new instance in the Fediverse, hosting all federated Flipboard accounts. Additionally, the flipboard.social Mastodon instance will persist, allowing users to create new Mastodon accounts and utilize the native Mastodon UI on a fast, secure, and reliable server.

Why Privacy Is Overrated

Interesting read.

What's your take on this?

My insight: Striking a balance between convenience and protecting personal information holds significant importance. Dismissing privacy concerns too readily is a mistake; thoughtful consideration is important. Personally, I wouldn't compromise my privacy for access to free services or targeted advertising. The reality is, even if our data isn't extensively used now, there's no guarantee it won't be exploited in the future. The basiqs (read basics) of privacy are that, once something is on the internet, it ceases to be truly private.
