I pulled this from my own bot a while back, 19.8% passed.
Now it depends on the group, for example public group sits at 18%, private invite-only one 47%.

62% that expired had no username at all vs 30% of the ones who passed, mostly fresh account ids, name clusters that look like airdrop farms.

Only about 7% of expiries were real members coming back. So I guess that low pass rate means that the captcha is working.

For "is this user blacklisted/banned elsewhere" checks: CAS (Combot Anti-Spam) has a free public API — GET api.cas.chat/check?user_id=123 returns whether the ID is in their spam DB, so most admin bots just call that on join. Rose-style bots also expose federation bans (/fbanstat or /info in a group where the fed is applied). There is no global "banned from groups" list in the Bot API itself — a bot can only see bans in chats where it's admin, so anything claiming a full history is guessing. Practical combo we use in our own group setups: CAS check + join captcha + bio-with-link filter kills ~95% of join spam.
