🇮🇱 Israel’s Military Intelligence (Aman) is building a new campus in the Negev Desert as part of a broader plan to relocate IDF HQs to the south. The complex will include fortified structures, a vast underground facility with tunnels, and additional HQs for various IDF MI divisions.

The New Aman Campus, being built by Shikun & Binui Infrastructure and Real Estate Group, will also include residential compounds to house around 12,000 IDF personnel and civil servants relocating to the New facilities of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate by 2026/2027.

Most of Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate units are moving to the new complex—including the Research Division, Unit 8200 (SIGINT), Unit 504 (HUMINT), the Special Ops Division (SOD), and its elite tech branch, Unit 81.

Erik Prince, founder of the controversial security contractor formerly known as Blackwater, joined in law enforcement operations on Saturday in Guayaquil, one of Ecuador’s most violent cities, according to local officials.

The operations saw 10 houses raided and 40 people detained, Ecuador’s Interior Minister John Reimberg said.

Prince also said in a video posted by Ecuador’s Defense Ministry that he was in the country “providing the law enforcement and the military the tools and the tactics to effectively combat the narco-gangs.”

The aim, Prince continued, is to “put the narcos on their back heels and make them truly afraid of being caught.”

🔴 The tariffs are the biggest shock to the US economy in the lifetime of anyone alive today.

🔴 Macro forecasting is often useless but it becomes especially so in situations like these.

🔴 Every forecast has a probability of error - with error tracking the level of uncertainty at any given time. The level of uncertainty today is enormous and so the error cancels out the value of the forecast.

🔴 America’s economic problems are longstanding and have to do with overborrowing from abroad. These did not appear this week, nor did they appear when Trump appeared in 2016.

🔴 There is a real risk that the dollar hegemony that underwrite this overborrowing might collapse and this could trigger a major fiscal crisis.
