🚨 DNA Contamination Study — Conducted at FDA Lab by Students Supervised by FDA Scientists — ‘Doesn’t Belong to FDA’ Agency Says
Despite the study being conducted at the FDA’s White Oak campus in Maryland, the agency has sought to distance itself from the findings.
A spokesperson stated that the study “does not belong to the FDA” and is therefore not theirs to disclose.
“The FDA does not comment on individual studies,” the spokesperson added, declining to acknowledge the new scientific findings.
The agency also refused to address the involvement of three of its own scientists — Shuliang Liu, Ph.D., Tony Wang, M.D., and Prabhuanand Selvaraj, Ph.D. — who supervised the students conducting the study.
When questioned about potential regulatory actions, such as issuing a public alert, recalling affected vaccine batches, or notifying other agencies, the FDA stood firm in its defense of mRNA vaccine safety.

🚨 BREAKING: New Study Linking Fluoride to Lower IQ in Children Sparks Renewed Calls to End Water Fluoridation
A meta-analysis of 74 epidemiological studies examining the link between children’s IQ and fluoride exposure found that the more fluoride pregnant women and young children are exposed to, the greater the decrease in a child’s IQ.
The study, published today in JAMA Pediatrics, was conducted by scientists from the NIH's National Toxicology Program.
The in-depth statistical meta-analysis is the largest and most rigorous ever conducted on fluoride, according to a commentary accompanying the study, and their findings highlight the need to “reassess systemic fluoride exposure, again.”
In the U.S., about 40-70% of a person’s fluoride intake comes from fluoridated drinking water.
The EPA has until the end of the month to file an appeal contesting the federal judge’s order that the agency make new rules regulating water fluoridation based on the risk it poses to children’s neurodevelopment.

🚨 Leading Public Health Figure Calls on Biden to Authorize Bird Flu Vaccine
During a Dec. 29, 2024, interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” Dr. Leana Wen, the former commissioner of the Baltimore City Health Department and a professor of public health at George Washington University, accused the outgoing Biden administration of not doing enough to address the bird flu outbreak and criticized the lack of availability of a bird flu vaccine.
Wen suggested the Trump administration would seek additional evidence of the vaccine’s effectiveness before authorizing it. (That's a bad thing? Shouldn't safety and effectiveness be priority?)
There have been 66 confirmed bird flu cases in the U.S., all but one of which caused only mild illness, and there have been no reports of human-to-human transmission of the virus.

Facebook Dumps ‘Fact-checkers’ One Day After CHD Asks Supreme Court to Hear Censorship Case Against Meta
Commenting on today’s news, CHD CEO Mary Holland told The Defender, “It’s clear that Mark Zuckerberg is worried about new anti-censorship policies of the incoming administration — as he should be. The record in CHD v. Meta clearly shows Facebook’s close collaboration with the White House to censor vaccine-related speech, even pre-COVID.”
Holland added:
“CHD has taken its case to the Supreme Court, and Facebook doubtless realizes there are Justices there that are very dubious about Facebook’s role in censoring speech at the behest of the government in the new public square. Zuckerberg may imagine that by making this announcement he is mooting this case, or making it no longer significant. That’s not the situation — the country needs closure that this kind of fusion of state and industry to censor unwanted information will never happen again.”

California’s pesticide regulators released preliminary findings last week linking the herbicide paraquat to risks to wildlife and human health harms, including thyroid disease and birth defects.
