ACIP Members Push Back on CDC’s COVID Vaccine Safety Claims
During the first round of questions and answers, ACIP committee co-chair Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., raised concerns that none of the data presented by the CDC work group came from randomized placebo-controlled trials, and that the observational studies did not use more rigorous case-controlled studies, but instead used test-negative studies, which can introduce more bias.

GOOD NEWS: CDC’s New Vaccine Advisers Vow to Study Cumulative Effect of Childhood Vaccine Schedule
The CDC’s new advisory committee today announced plans to look at the cumulative effect of all vaccines given during childhood.
Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., the committee’s new co-chair, said:
“The number of vaccines that our children and adolescents receive today exceeds what children in most other developed nations receive — and what most of us in this room received when we were children.
“In addition to studying and evaluating individual vaccines, it is important to evaluate the cumulative effect of the recommended vaccine schedule. This includes interaction effects between different vaccines, the total number of vaccines, cumulative amounts of vaccine ingredients, and relative timing of different vaccines.”

California attorney Rick Jaffe said that courts seem reluctant to recognize religious exemptions as a constitutional right.
“The reality is that no federal appellate court has recognized a constitutional or statutory right to a religious exemption from vaccine mandates — not for healthcare workers, not for anyone. 🚨 JUST IN: U.S. Supreme Court Won’t Hear Children’s Health Defense Censorship Case Against Facebook
The U.S. Supreme Court today denied Children’s Health Defense’s (CHD) petition to hear its censorship case against Meta, the parent company of Facebook.
CHD sued Meta in August 2020 and filed an amended complaint in November 2020, alleging that government actors partnered with Facebook to censor CHD’s speech — particularly speech related to vaccines and COVID-19 — that should have been protected under the First Amendment.
The company deplatformed CHD from Facebook and Instagram in August 2022 and has not reinstated the accounts.
The 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in August 2024 sided with Facebook, ruling that Meta’s censorship was the result of the company’s policy rather than government coercion.
On Jan. 6, CHD petitioned the Supreme Court to hear the case. Less than 24 hours later, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the company was ending its third-party “fact-checking” program — a program it had used to censor and later deplatform CHD and others.
CHD CEO Mary Holland, who said CHD is “deeply disappointed” that the Supreme Court declined to hear the case, told The Defender:
“It has been obvious since the time the case was filed in August 2020 that Facebook and its allied media worked hand in glove with the federal public health authorities to censor CHD and to promote government-sponsored false information on COVID and other vaccine issues.”
CHD General Counsel Kim Mack Rosenberg echoed Holland’s disappointment. She said:
“We at CHD believe strongly that consumers of media have a right to hear a variety of viewpoints and sources and that those like CHD that communicate information that may challenge the prevailing narrative have a right to be heard.
“These are fundamental hallmarks of democracy, and it is deeply disheartening that the Supreme Court chose not to address this critical issue.”

⚠️ ‘Forever Chemical’ Found in Breads and Cereals — Even in Organic Products
Both organic and conventionally grown cereal products — including baked goods, whole grains, pasta, flours and breakfast products — contained high levels of the “forever chemical” trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), according to a report released this month by Global 2000.
Helmut Burtscher-Schaden, Ph.D., an environmental chemist with GLOBAL 2000 and the report’s author, told The Defender that TFA is among the smallest forever chemicals.
It exists on its own, but is also produced when other kinds of PFAS break down. Gases for refrigeration, certain pesticides and pharmaceuticals, including Prozac, all produce TFA, he said.
“Urgent measures are needed to curb further contamination of our vital resources with this forever chemical,” Burtscher-Schaden wrote in the report.
Tjerk Dalhuisen, PAN Europe’s senior communications officer, agreed. TFA is “everywhere and if we don’t stop the very sources, it will get a lot worse,” he told The Defender.
Dalhuisen called the global situation “alarming.” He said:
“TFA has been identified as being toxic to reproduction, and it can harm the development of children. The authorities should immediately ban all products that break down to TFA, especially PFAS pesticides that are sprayed on fields and food.”

✅ CDC Vaccine Advisers Vote to Stop Recommending Flu Shots That Contain Thimerosal
Brian Hooker, Ph.D., chief scientific officer for CHD, called today’s outcome “a huge first step towards limiting toxic exposures especially to our most vulnerable individuals.”
Hooker said thimerosal “is still used in multidose vials of the flu shot, which have in the past comprised nearly half of all the flu shots given in the U.S., including those to pregnant women and infants down to age 6 months.”
Lyn Redwood’s presentation noted that thimerosal was first used as a vaccine preservative in the 1930s without any studies demonstrating its safety. The FDA later “grandfathered” thimerosal as an approved vaccine ingredient without performing adequate safety testing.
Redwood said thimerosal has a 49.6% concentration of mercury — the third most toxic element for humans — and that thimerosal levels in flu vaccines are 250 times higher than the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) safety limit.
“Thimerosal can cross the placenta and blood-brain barriers and converts to inorganic mercury in the brain,” Redwood said, noting that infants, young children, older adults, pregnant women and fetuses are particularly vulnerable to its effects.

🚨 Nearly 10,000 Claims Pending as COVID Vaccine Injury Compensation Program Faces Possible Budget Cut
The Trump administration’s proposed budget would eliminate funding for the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP), TrialSite News reported last week. If approved, the program would be forced to operate on “carryover funds” — or unspent funds from previous years.
According to TrialSite News:
“With no civil court recourse under the PREP Act, downgrading CICP funding leaves injured individuals with limited legal avenues and uncertain financial relief. This undermines public trust in vaccine policy, risks fueling hesitancy, and may deter future claim filings altogether.
“The decision to drop new CICP funding was hidden in budget pages — no public announcements or detailed breakdown of carryover metrics. How much carryover exists? How long will it last? What if claim volume increases?”

💔 ‘Heartbreaking’: Jury Sides With Hospital in 2021 Death of 19-Year-Old Admitted for COVID
At Friday’s press conference, Grace’s mother, Cindy Schara, called the verdict “heartbreaking.”
“We really did expect the jury to see what they did to Grace,” she said. “This jury deliberating as quickly as they did in coming up with their verdict did not give Grace the respect that she deserved … I think the judge took longer to go through the instructions than they did to actually deliberate in the back.”

Confusion Surrounds Draft Executive Order on Eve of First Religious Liberty Commission Hearing
Currently, parents in four states — California, New York, Connecticut and Maine — cannot opt their children out of school-mandated vaccinations, even if that’s what their conscience and beliefs dictate, according to Children’s Health Defense (CHD) CEO Mary Holland.
“Health freedom and religious freedom are inextricably intertwined … While there is much work for the commission to do, the meeting has raised hopes of a more robust interpretation of religious freedom going forward.”
President Donald Trump last month established the Religious Liberty Commission by executive order. He tasked the commission with recommending steps the executive branch can take to protect religious freedom in the U.S. and promote it abroad.
