Former CIA Director David Petraeus:
We have not remotely learned all the lessons we should have from the war in Ukraine.Читать полностью…
That is the future of war right now. Ukraine is using 10,000 drones a day.
Ninety percent of the casualties on the Russian side are caused by drones. Tanks can’t manoeuvre anymore. They can’t survive. Armored vehicles can’t survive.
And by the way, there’s more coming. Within a year or two, we’re going to see unmanned systems that are not remotely piloted.
In the future, we’re going to see autonomous systems — truly autonomous — that do not require a pilot to remotely operate them.
Then you face drone swarms. And that is something for which we really don’t have a solution.

Mighty power will not bring full security and stability.Читать полностью…
The core of the conflict in the region is the Palestinian cause.
Without giving Palestinians their legitimate rights — including the right of self-determination — Israel will not enjoy sustainable peace.
Apart from that, there is no peace and stability in the region.
Hungarian PM Péter Magyar:
You know, the territorial integrity of Ukraine was guaranteed in 1994 in the Budapest Memorandum, which of course was signed in Budapest.Читать полностью…
And the problem is that the international stage did not really fulfill its task and did not guarantee the integrity and independence of Ukraine.
And now we need a peace agreement. With real security guarantees.

Israel is erasing entire villages in southern Lebanon from the map. Not just airstrikes, but forced expulsions & bombing.
They send in troops to lace buildings with explosives. Military bulldozer operators are paid per building destroyed.
Entire towns - streets, trees, history built over generations - gone.
The south is the agricultural heartland of Lebanon. Over one million people live there. But coverage focuses on Beirut.
Now that Beirut has been declared neutral, the ongoing daily massacres in the south - and the systematic destruction of the so-called buffer zone - are going largely unreported.
Israel continues its campaign of destruction in southern Lebanon.

Prof. Nathalie Tocci | European Foreign Policy Expert | Johns Hopkins SAIS, Europe:
The middle powers debate post-Trump is far more normative than before.
Canadian PM Mark Carney framed it well, despite him not naming them specifically - there are wannabe empires out there: Russia, America, possibly China.
And then there are middle & small powers that have an interest in rules, laws & norms.
The rules-based order may have become a fiction that needs rethinking - but rethinking doesn't mean abandoning rules altogether. It means reinterpreting, revising & building on them.
Middle powers have no interest in the law of the jungle & the survival of the fittest. And that is a very different conversation.
Former CIA Director David Petraeus:
We were denied access to many of the bases we normally occupy.Читать полностью…
Now, the truth is, we’re not as inclined to occupy these bases now that we have seen what the Iranians can throw at them.
The UK joined France, Italy, Spain and Canada in blocking a NATO plan that would have required allies to spend 0.25% of GDP on military aid for Ukraine.

Trump:
The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, and I have informed my representatives not to rush into a deal in that time is on our side.Читать полностью…
The Blockade will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed. Both sides must take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes!
Our relationship with Iran is becoming a much more professional and productive one. They must understand, however, that they cannot develop or procure a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb.
I would like to thank, thus far, all of the countries of the Middle East for their support and cooperation, which will be further enhanced and strengthened by their joining the Nations of the historic Abraham Accords and, who knows, perhaps the Islamic Republic of Iran would like to join, as well!

UAE President MbZ’s Advisor Anwar Gargash:
We've grown accustomed to Iranian bullying over long decades until it became part of the political landscape in the Arabian Gulf, and credibility has been lost between aggressive rhetoric and hollow declarations of friendship.Читать полностью…
And today, after the brutal Iranian aggression, the regime is trying to consecrate a new reality born from a clear military defeat, but attempts to control the Strait of Hormuz or encroach on the UAE's maritime sovereignty are nothing but fragments of dreams.
And whoever wants to coexist with its Arab surroundings must realize that trust is lost, and restoring it is not achieved through slogans, but through responsible language, safeguarding sovereignty, and genuine commitment to the principles of good neighborliness.

Zelensky:
We clearly understand what is being discussed between Russia and the leadership of Belarus. The Russians have recently stepped up their activity – I mean, in talks with Aleksandr Lukashenko.Читать полностью…
They want to draw Belarus much deeper into the war and launch additional aggressive operations precisely from Belarusian territory – either against our Chernihiv-Kyiv direction in Ukraine or against one of the NATO countries bordering Belarus.
We also have Russian documents outlining targets for strikes in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities – political and military facilities where army leadership and government officials may be located, including here on Bankova Street.
They have been nursing this plan for a long time, and now, after Iran, have become active again – trying to locate us and track our movements. The same applies to other members of the Ukrainian leadership, intelligence agencies, and our special services.
Some in Moscow have still failed to understand that Ukrainians will never surrender their independence. One way or another – whether on Bankova or without Bankova – we will not surrender our land, our sovereignty, or our state.

Prof. Nathalie Tocci | European Foreign Policy Expert | Johns Hopkins SAIS, Europe:
Two elements define the narrative imbalance in the US-Europe relationship.
First, the narrative that Americans are paying for European security.
Second, the US launching a war against Iran alongside Israel - without consulting European partners - then expecting them to tag along & do the washing up, particularly on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Underlying both is political amnesia. The US-Europe alliance was never exclusively to the benefit of one side - otherwise it wouldn't have lasted decades. That social contract has been forgotten.
The result is a fundamental rethinking of the overall bargain.
