Dubai Municipality on Wednesday announced the completion of a sewerage and rainwater drainage network at a total cost of Dh277 million.
It is the first major step towards completing the Tasreef project β the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, who last year approved the Dh30 billion plan to improve the emirateβs water drainage following record flooding in April. The new network in Nad Al Sheba 3 spans a total of 24km and adds 11km of household connections to Dubai's main sewerage system.

'Many of us are sleepless': Residents of fire-hit Dubai Marina tower await answers
Residents of Dubai's Marina Pinnacle tower, also known as "Tiger Tower," are anxiously waiting for updates on when they can return after a major fire broke out Friday night. The blaze caused severe damage, especially to the upper floors, and led to the evacuation of 3,800 people. Streets around the 67-story building remain cordoned off, with emergency crews still on site. Many residents, some emotional and sleepless, are concerned about personal belongings and important documents left inside. While some, like Denis from the UK, lost most of their belongings, others, like Raju from India, are waiting for news about documents. Residents praised firefighters for their quick response and the community for offering shelter, food, and support. Some evacuees were housed in hotels, but it's unclear if all affected residents received accommodations.
