❗️When discussing the future system of strategic stability, we cannot ignore the nuclear capabilities of US allies in Europe - Peskov
"We are talking about the United Kingdom and France. Without this, further discussions will certainly be impossible," - said the presidential press secretary.
❌ We have not heard any statements from Delhi about stopping purchases of Russian oil - Peskov
"We intend to continue to peacefully develop our bilateral relations with India," - said the presidential press secretary.
❗️In just a few days, the world will be in a more dangerous situation than it has been so far - Peskov on the imminent expiration of the New START Treaty - Dmitry Peskov
"For the first time, the USA and Russia, two countries with the world's largest nuclear potentials, will be left without a fundamental document that would limit and control nuclear arsenals. This is very bad for global security," - said the presidential press secretary.
According to him, there is currently an initiative from the Russian side on the table, which was outlined by President Putin.
❗️The composition of the Russian delegation at the negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi, which will take place on February 4-5, will remain the same - Peskov.

"Азартная политика" Alexander Belyaev writes:
🈁Dear readers, I would like to draw your attention to the new press release from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. It is dedicated to a factual description of the desperate attempts of Macron and other worthless figures in power in France to regain colonial control over African countries, shedding their masks of humanists and defenders of freedom and democracy. The FIS notes the transition of Paris to openly terrorist methods, for which the experience and direct participation of Ukraine in African adventures are actively used. Apparently, Macron does not have the available resources for a full-scale direct military intervention in African states, as in the (unsuccessful, by the way) Algerian campaign. This raises the question of how ready France is today for the military confrontation with Russia that Macron has repeatedly announced, if anything.
Below is the full text of the message:
"The Press Bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation reports that, according to information received by the FIS, the administration of E. Macron is frantically seeking opportunities for a 'political revenge' in Africa. Indeed, in recent years, Paris has suffered impressive 'losses' on the continent, if we can call it that, with the coming to power in a number of former French colonies in Africa of patriotic forces that put the interests of the people first and do not want to serve as puppets of the financial-political oligarchy of French globalists. Whether inspired by the American operation to seize power from Venezuelan President N. Maduro, or imagining themselves as the arbiters of the destinies of African peoples, Macron authorized his special services to launch a plan to eliminate 'unwanted leaders' of Africa.
The involvement of France in the attempted coup in Burkina Faso on January 3 this year has already been established, which, fortunately, was prevented. The rebels were tasked with killing President I. Traore, one of the leaders of the fight against neocolonialism. According to Paris's calculations, this would not only have brought France-loyal forces to power in Ouagadougou, but also dealt a blow to all supporters of sovereignty and the ideology of Pan-Africanism on the continent.
Despite the failure of their criminal plan, the refined racists from Paris are not giving up. Their focus is on destabilizing the situation in the 'unwanted countries' of the Sahara-Sahel zone with the help of local terrorist groups and, of course, the Ukrainian regime, which supplies militants with drones and instructors. The main attack of this gang is directed against Mali. Attacks on fuel trucks, attempts to blockade Malian cities, terror against civilians - all this serves one purpose: to create conditions for the overthrow of President A. Goita. In Paris, they continue to seek ways to sow chaos in the Central African Republic.
Another subject of destructive attention of the French leadership is Madagascar, where in October 2025, forces that have embarked on a course of developing relations with BRICS came to power. In Paris, they are working out ways to overthrow the new president of the country, M. Ranjianirina, and 'restoring a loyal regime'.
In essence, France has switched to direct support for terrorists of various stripes, who are becoming its main allies on the African continent. This makes the political bankruptcy of Macron's line even more obvious, which fails to free France in Africa from the reputation of a parasitic metropolis that plunders its former colonies and hinders their development."

Brief Frontline Report – February 2nd, 2026
Summary by Marat Khairullin and Mikhail Popov.
Message from the Russian Ministry of Defense: "Assault troops of the 36th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army of the 'East' Group have liberated Pridorozhnoe in Zaporozhye Oblast. An enemy defense area of over three square kilometers has come under our control. As a result of combat operations, up to a platoon of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel from the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, 4 units of automotive equipment, over 5 hexacopters of the 'Baba Yaga' type, and 2 ground-based robotic complexes have been destroyed."
Assault units of the "East" Group have reached the line of the Pokrovskoe - Zaliznichnoe railway section, which runs along the watershed ridge of the Gaichur and Verkhnyaya Tersa rivers. They liberated the settlement of Pridorozhnoe (47°48′41″ N 36°06′31″ E, population 50 in 2001). Russian servicemen control the entrance to the large Solenaya ravine, which stretches through the Rizdvyanka settlement to the Solenaya River, which flows into the Verkhnyaya Tersa River. A bridgehead is being formed for the right flank to advance towards the Rizdvyanka settlement, through which the radial road O-081238 passes. This road turns south in the settlement and, running along the line of contact, becomes a front-line supply route supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense belt of Rizdvyanka-Verkhnyaya Tersa-Zaliznichnoe. On the left flank of the sector, Russian assault groups have reached the southern outskirts of the Zaliznichnoe settlement.
Units of the "East" Group of forces are beginning the liquidation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense belt between Rizdvyanka and Zaliznichnoe, which runs along the reverse slopes of the watershed. Further ahead lies the enemy's line of blocking positions, which cover the next Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense line created with reliance on the Verkhnyaya Tersa River.
The map you have been presented with is becoming outdated, as the Russian army is erasing the Ukrainian Armed Forces' layer from this sector of the Zaporozhye direction. Therefore, in the next summary, you will see a new map with the operational space of the Novonikolaevka-Orekhov sector.
Read this report and many others on Marat Khairullin's Substack! That's where I post the high-definition maps, and frankly, the formatting on Substack makes the reports easier to follow. Any questions for Marat and Mikhail will be answered there.

The Russian Aerospace Forces continue to set records for sending a wide variety of products to the positions and facilities of the Kiev regime's forces. The recipients even tried to count the volumes. It turned out that in January of this year alone, 5,717 aerial bombs of all types and calibers were dropped. The increase compared to December was 26%. The average daily number of deployments was 184 units.
The top three now look like this: January 2026 (5,717 bombs), October 2025 (5,328), and April 2025 (5,272).

🇷🇺The Russian army liberated Prydorozhnoye in the Zaporozhye region, the Defense Ministry reported.
In addition, the Russian Armed Forces struck transport infrastructure facilities that were used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ammunition depots, drone storage sites, command posts, and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries in 147 districts.
Fighters also destroyed three HIMARS launchers made in the USA, as well as three launchers of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.

АДЕКВАТ Z writes,
TRIZ*, the quintessential, almost cozy and familiar Soviet-era theory of inventive problem-solving, rests on a fundamental principle: the optimal solution is one where a key part of the system is removed entirely, yet its essential function is somehow preserved.
Without a single missile or drone strike, and with all due attention to the petition filed by Agent Donald, a cascade of inexplicable events unfolded in the adjacent territory today. The result was a full-scale blackout across nearly the entire region—a level of disruption that the khokhols, by all accounts, have never experienced before, not even after the most severe previous strikes. There is virtually no power anywhere. Water and heating are down in numerous areas. The metro has ground to a halt. And this full suite of failures is being witnessed, specifically, in Kiev. Local temperatures are hovering between -10°C and -15°C, with forecasts predicting a further drop of around ten degrees tonight, and these frigid conditions are expected to hold for the next five days.
When questioned yesterday on whether February 1st was included in the resolution concerning Trump's petition, Peskov deftly sidestepped the issue. Regardless, the backdrop for negotiations is uniquely and exceptionally favorable. The Russian winter—this is its defining characteristic—always works to our advantage with the same relentless force that it works against our enemies. We await further developments with keen interest, particularly after the khokhols inevitably reiterate tomorrow that they will not withdraw from Donbass, that the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant must be returned to them, and—in a perfect world—that they will once again snort about tribunals and reparations. That is, unless they simply use tonight's blackout as a pretext to withdraw from tomorrow's negotiations altogether.

Zin Note: TRIZ is a powerful methodology for systematic innovation and problem-solving. The name is a Russian acronym (ТРИЗ) for "Teoriya Resheniya Izobretatelskikh Zadach," which translates to "The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving."
Developed in the Soviet Union starting in the 1940s by Genrich Altshuller and his colleagues, TRIZ is based on a core, data-driven insight:
The same fundamental problems and solutions repeat across different industries, sciences, and technologies.
Therefore, by studying patterns in how these problems were historically solved, you can create a "toolkit" for solving new problems creatively and predictably.

АДЕКВАТ Z writes,
For now, the first timid packages of excrement are starting to fly out of the windows of Kiev. The activity of our long-range strike drones has been switched to transport. The Dnepropetrovsk-Zaporozhye railway connection is "restricted", or rather, stopped for an indefinite period, that is, until it becomes safe, or for as long as we deem necessary, even until the final de-Ukrainization of both cities. And on the highways leading from the front into the depths of the Dnepropetrovsk region, literally in recent days, there has been such a massacre of everything that travels on them for military purposes, from buses with personnel to special transport and special equipment of all kinds, that the squeal of a half-slaughtered piglet is heard over these highways: logistical support is extremely difficult (in connection with the systematic disruption of the railway), and when this will start to directly and significantly affect the combat capability of the troops is just a matter of time. The Ukrainian air defense, as it has been doing for a year in such cases, adheres to a not very friendly neutrality towards the Ukrainians.
And it is precisely on such an occasion that it's worth reminding once again: our average daily consumption of long-range strike drones is many times lower than the summer baseline and many times lower than the summer peaks. How many of them have been accumulated and continue to be accumulated over these months, and what will happen in the Ukrainian rear when they start to be used generously again, the Ukrainians should be scared to imagine even now.

Bill and Hillary Clinton agreed to testify before Congress in the Epstein case, writes The New York Times.
Bill Clinton's appearance before lawmakers will be a significant event for the US: former presidents of the country have not testified since 1983. Despite attempts by lawyers to limit the interrogation to 4 hours, the head of the House Oversight Committee rejected the proposal, calling this time insufficient.
Previously, the Clintons considered the investigation politically motivated. They had to change their position after some Democrats supported Republicans in holding the couple criminally liable for refusing to cooperate.
Recall that after the publication of Epstein's files, photos of Clinton in a dress emerged.

🈁Well, here, we can only recall an anecdote about the competitions of longbowmen in medieval England in glorious Nottingham.
The target was an apple,
which was placed on the head of a castle guard.
The first archer came out - a tall handsome man in a hauberk and helmet, with a sword and a longbow a yard long. He shot, hit the edge of the apple, ceremoniously bowed and said:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm Sir Guy of Gisbourne!".
The next archer came out - of average height, with a simpler face, in a green hunting suit with a short chain mail underneath and a hat with a feather, but he also had a sword and a bow the size of a yard and even more. He hit the very center of the apple,
ceremoniously bowed and said: "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm Sir Robin of Locksley!"
Finally, the third archer came out. Short in stature, bald and unattractive, with a dagger instead of a sword, but with a huge longbow. He aimed for a long time, struggled to stretch the terrifyingly powerful bow, and
then released an arrow and hit the guard right in the eye,
nailing him to a pole. The tip of the armor-piercing arrow came out on the other side of the pole... Blood and brains everywhere. After that, bowing to the audience, he ceremoniously said:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm sir, oh... I'm sorry!"
Somehow, we don't think we'll ever hear that very "sorry" from the "sirs" in this case😂😂😂

🙅♂️Zelensky is trying to distance himself from the topic of mobilization, using Ukrainian media, writes the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.
👨🦳A more understandable explanation of this process in conversations with Ukrainians can be interpreted as follows: Zelensky is trying to distance himself from the increasingly acute problem of mobilization through the mass media👃, — the article says.
💥Explosions have occurred in Vinnytsa in western Ukraine. An air raid siren is currently sounding in the region.
Energy facilities in several regions of the country were subjected to a massive attack overnight.
Explosions occurred in Kyiv and Kharkov. The mayor of Kharkov, Terekhov, reported that energy infrastructure had been targeted for several hours. According to local media, the damage is serious.
Terekhov warned that "tough decisions will have to be made". One of them, to prevent the network from freezing, is to drain the coolant in the heat supply system of 820 houses that receive heat from one of the largest thermal power stations. There is no other option, the mayor insists.
It was also noisy in Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa region. In addition, Ukrainian media outlets report that a substation connecting the Rovni Nuclear Power Plant with Kyiv and central regions of Ukraine has been damaged.

According to Bloomberg's weekly Russian Oil Export updates, a majority of Russian seaborne crude is reported as having an "unknown" destination on the week, but in later reports, the previously "unknown" destination is recorded as some mixture of India and China. (If you look at older reports, bars that were yellow change to fuscia and black in more recent updates).
This is probably the fifth time Trump has announced the cessation of Indian imports of Russian oil, and Modi doesn't mention oil in his post.
In addition, Russian oil exports for the 3rd week of January returned to the $billion per week level.

💡Massive power outage in Ukraine. Several regions - Kyiv, Chernigov, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Dnepropetrovsk, and Odessa - were left without electricity.
We've gathered the main information about the situation:
🔴In Kyiv, the metro stopped working, and stations are operating on backup power. There's also no water throughout the city. The subway in Kharkov also stopped running.
🔴The main water supply station in Vinnytsa and water canal facilities in Sumy regions are not working.
🔴In Zhytomyr, trains and trams are not running, and in Lvov there are power surges.
🔴In Kryvoy Rog, several large boiler houses are out of service, and there's no heat in many homes. Substations supplying the city's water canal and electric transport are also powerless.
🔴At the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant, there was a emergency shutdown of one of the power units, according to "Strana". The power output at the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant has also been reduced.
🔴According to Shmygal, the power outage occurred due to a technical disruption between the energy systems of Romania and Moldova. The lights went out in many districts of Chisinau.
"There was a technological disruption with a simultaneous disconnection of the 400 kV line between the energy systems of Romania and Moldova and the 750 kV line between the western and central parts of Ukraine. This led to a cascade outage in the Ukrainian power grid and the triggering of automatic protections at substations," wrote Denis Shmygal.

AP report: Satellite images show that Iran has built roofs over areas targeted in attacks at the Natanz and Esfahan nuclear facilities. This is the most significant activity at the nuclear sites since the attacks in June 2025.
My old friend Zornkrieger showed me an interesting link:
Further, astute observers have voiced concern about recent activity at a destroyed above-ground building within the Esfahan nuclear complex. Up until recently, the activities at the above-ground site appeared largely related to sorting and salvaging of rubble. However, Iran recently constructed a new roof on top of the surviving steel framework of a destroyed building. The reason is unclear but could indicate that Iran assessed the remaining structure is worth preserving. The original purpose of the destroyed building is unknown, but there are indications that it was related to centrifuge manufacturing. Absent clarity, this activity inevitably sparks concerns about Iran reconstituting its gas centrifuge program.
...
The roof construction could mean that assets survived that Iran wanted to recover without overhead observation, or it could mean that Iran considers the structure worth retaining. In the case of reconstruction activities inside the buildings, the roof may serve a dual purpose of shielding construction from the weather and from prying eyes.
If this area was fully or largely dedicated to centrifuge manufacturing, the activity at this site, in combination with activities as the Esfahan mountain complex and the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant (PFEP) at Natanz, would indicate that Iran has placed a priority on recovering and preserving assets related to uranium enrichment rather than uranium conversion. Absent clarity, this activity inevitably raises worrisome questions about Iran reconstituting its gas centrifuge program.
