Federation Rank Up Missions??
At a bit of a loss.
Have been 100% on cadet for a couple of days now. Cordial-Allied with all Federation minor factions at multiple starports in Procyon. Cleared out all outstanding bounty’s against my name from Fed minor factions. I do still have a few outstanding fines but none associated with the minor factions in this system.
Cannot understand why I am not seeing federation rank up missions.
Am I missing something?

Contacting a guild
my father died unexpectedly last week. he had been playing elite dangerous from the beta.
i could hazard a guess at his user name and I don’t know his guild. I do know they had a meetup or Two and I’m sure they’d appreciate knowing what happened.
what would be my best way of finding out His guild and contacting them? I can’t get into his computer (inleas I can figure out his passwor) so I don’t think it’s going to be as simple as long on and send messages.

I'm stilling living in 2014 exploration mindset, and I'm confused
So I'm out here trying to get 5000LY away from LHS3447 for my thruster engineers, first time REALLY getting out of the bubble.
Last time I even attempted this was over ten years ago, found a handful of earthlike planets a thousand LY or so out of the bubble, turned around and never went back.
First question: I hit a system, and I ping with the discovery scanner and there''s 25 objects. The system map only shows the main star. Does this mean it's unexplored completely by any other commander (or they haven't turne din their data yet?) Seems that way to me.
Second question, the FSS. I don't remember this from 2014. I've finally figured out how the heck it works and it's a neat little minigame. Once I've tuned the FSS correctly and found a handful of planets, does that effectively mark me as the commander who first found the planet, or do I still need to fly over to them and scan them individually?

Don't do on-foot with no supplies!
Rookie mistake, but I still wanted to share my experience...
Few days ago I set out to do an on-foot mission to retrieve some salvage from a crash site. "Easy...", I thought, "...jump in my Eagle, head out to the planet, land nearby, get to the crash site, get the salvage, get out. What's the worse that could happen?!"
Well, I ran into some trouble when I tried to land about 200m from the site. I got shot at. The mission did say "Threat Level 1", but I wasn't expecting 2 sharpshooters, 2 commando's and a scout (or whatever it was) to be camping at the crash site.
So I put my Eagle down some distance away from the site and dismissed it. Then I snuck up to the site, it was dark so that gave me some cover I guess. As I approached the site I took out my rifle, put up my shield and started attacking. After a good few minutes of dodging and shooting I cleared the site and was able to get the salvage, or so I thought.
A drop ship showed up and a few more soldiers popped out. I had about 40% suit energy left so I had to decide to drop the mission or push through...well, I choose the later.
With only 8% energy left I defeated the soldiers, got the salvage and called my ship. Still had to make a run for it before my energy would run out. Got to my ship with 2% left and a heart rate up to a million, but I completed the mission.
Once back at the station I stocked up on energy cells, grenades, shields, and other tools.
I picked another mission, but I was prepared this time, so I picked a Threat Level 2 salvage operation. Jumped back in my Eagle and head to the site ... there was no one, not a single enemy. I collected the salvage and head back to the station.

EZ endless credits?
Hello everyone!
Today I finished working on a program that helps build potentially profitable routes through systems containing Stratum Tectonicas. On paper, the results look very impressive, and so does the estimated profit.
To clarify right away: I have not used the program in the game yet. All profitability data comes only from application testing and has not been verified in actual gameplay.
Before starting this project, I carefully reviewed the rules and requirements regarding third-party tools. As far as I understand, my software does not technically violate any rules, because it does not interact with the game, its client, or its data in any way. It is based on external dumps of high metal content planets, to which I applied my own filtering system to remove planets that were likely already explored, increasing the chance of receiving the first-discovery bonus.
I have also seen similar tools online, but in my opinion they were harder to use, and their data was not filtered in the same way.
That is why I decided to post here and ask for the opinion of players and possibly the developers one last time before I start testing the routes suggested by the application directly in the game.
What do you think, Commanders? And perhaps one of the developers might see this post and give me a clear answer: is what I made allowed?
After I gather feedback, I will make a final decision on whether I should use this program or not.
In any case, I have already gained some valuable development experience, so the time was not wasted.

Guys, how do you change the color of the cockpit displays and menus? Because I noticed that we have it in orange by default, but some people have it in red/blue.The example is in the photo below.
