👈 تفاوت بین
i don't care و i don't mind
موارد بسیاری هست که این دو جمله توسط غیرانگلیسی زبان ها به اشتباه به جای هم به کار میروند.
👉 I don't care:
👈 اصلا برای من مهم نیست و به هیچ حساب نمیکنم(به من چه!) و ...
👉 I don't mind:
👈 از نظر من موردی ندارد.

The Best Prince
بهترین شاهزاده
King Minos was very sick. His condition was getting worse. He had three sons. He loved them all. He had to announce who would become king.
پادشاه مینوس خیلی بیمار بود. حالش داشت بدتر می‌شد. او سه پسر داشت. همه‌ی آنها را دوست داشت. باید اعلام می‌کرد که چه کسی پادشاه خواهد شد.
Two of the princes stood waiting outside the king's room. Theseus was the oldest and strongest. He thought his father would make him king. Pelias, the second son, thought differently. He was an expert in fighting. He thought the king would choose him.
دو تا از شاهزادگان در بیرون اتاق پادشاه ایستاده بودند. تیسوس بزرگ‌ترین و قوی‌ترین بود. او فکر می‌کرد پدرش او را پادشاه می‌کند. پلیاس، پسر دوم، جور دیگری فکر می‌کرد. او در نبرد خبره بود. فکر می‌کرد پادشاه او را انتخاب می‌کند.
“When I'm king,” Theseus told Pelias, “I'll let you contribute to protect our country. You can lead the army.”
تسیوس به پلیاس گفت: «وقتی من پادشاه بشم، بهت اجازه می‌دم در محافظت از کشورمان سهیم باشی. می‌تونی ارتش رو رهبری کنی.
Pelias became angry. “Father knows I'm famous for my fighting skills. He'll make me king.”
پلیاس عصبانی شد. «پدر می‌دونه که من به مهارت‌های جنگی مشهور هستم. او من رو پادشاه می‌کنه.
“You?” Theseus yelled. “He won't choose you! The kingdom is mine!” Pelias claimed. “Father will give it to me—or I'll use force to take it!”
تیسوس داد زد. : «تو؟ او تو رو انتخاب نمی‌کنه! » پلیاس ادعا کرد. «پادشاهی از آن منه! پدر اون رو به من می‌ده—یا من به‌زور اون رو می‌گیرم!
Theseus made a sudden move to take out his sword. Then Pelias did the same.
تیسوس ناگهان حرکت کرد تا شمشیرش را بیرون آورد. بعد پلیاس هم همین کار را کرد.
“Beating me will be a challenge,” Theseus said. “Fight me now. The winner gets the kingdom!”
تیسوس گفت: «شکست دادن من چالش‌برانگیزه. الان با من بجنگ. برنده پادشاهی رو به‌دست میاره!
Pelias agreed.
پلیاس قبول کرد.
King Minos could hear his sons fighting. The youngest son, Jason, stood beside him. He sensed his father's sadness. The king laid his hand on Jason's arm.
پادشاه مینوس می‌توانست صدای جنگیدن پسرانش را بشنود. پسر کوچک، جیسون، کنارش ایستاد. اندوه پدرش را حس کرد. پادشاه دستش را بر بازوی جیسون گذاشت.
“Your brothers fight too much,” the king told him. “I must protect my kingdom from all harm. They'll divide it between them. The people won't know what to do. There'll be war. I can't allow either of them to be king. Therefore, I'm making you king.
پادشاه به او گفت: «برادرات بیش از حد می‌جنگن. من باید پادشاهی‌م رو از هر آسیبی محافظت کنم. اونا پادشاهی رو بین خودشون تقسیم می‌کنن. مردم نمی‌دونن چه کار کنن. جنگ میشه. من نمی‌تونم اجازه بدم که هیچ‌کدوم پادشاه بشن. بنابراین، من تو رو پادشاه می‌کنم.
Your kindness has always made you special. It's the difference between you and your brothers. You can bring peace. They can't.”
مهربانیت همیشه تو رو خاص کرده. این تفاوت بین تو و برادرهاته. تو می‌تونی صلح ایجاد کنی. اونا نمی‌تونن.
Then the king died. Theseus and Pelias heard that their youngest brother was king. They were surprised.
سپس پادشاه درگذشت. تیسوس و پلیاس شنیدند که برادر کوچک آنها پادشاه شده‌است. آنها شگفت‌زده شدند.
They realized that their fighting was wrong. It had kept them from saying goodbye to their father. They agreed to have Jason as their king. He was the best choice.
آنها فهمیدند که جنگشان اشتباه بوده‌است. آنها را از خداحافظی با پدرشان باز داشته بود. آنها توافق کردند که جیسون را پادشاه خود کنند. او بهترین انتخاب بود.

She was hungry, and she wasn’t frightened anymore. She took a bite of cake and relaxed. “ How did you get to my garden?”
Tina told Wilma how she got lost. “ That’s terrible! Let us take you home.” “ Actually, I think that I want to stay with you,” Tina said. She wasn’t scared of big people anymore. Wilma and Tina lived happily ever after.

The Boy and his Sled
Mike was the smallest child in school. Another boy, Joe, always teased Mike. Joe had a large scar on his face from fighting other children. One day, Joe offended Mike when he made fun of Mike’s valentine, Jane. Mike felt disgrace, but he didn’t know how to make Joe stop.
That day, Mike walked home down an alley. He found a bunch of wood boards next to a pine tree. He thought to himself, “ I could build a decent sled from this. If I let Joe use it, he will be nicerto me and Jane.” He took the wood home. Mike got an ax and cut the wood. He used nails to make sure that the pieces were not loose.
As he worked, he bumped his elbow on the boards. The painful sensation made him want to cry. It was a hard chore, but he persisted. He worked overnight. By morning, the sled was finished. Mike called Joe on the telephone. He said, “ Hi Joe. Come over to my house right away.” Joe didn’t know why Mike wanted him to come over. When Joe arrived, Mike told him, “ Joe, it irritated me the other day when you said mean things about my card to Jane. You weren’t kidding when you said those mean things. But I’m not like you. I just built this sled, and I’ ll let you ride it with me if you are nice.” They became friends, and Joe was grateful that mike was so nice to him.
He learned that it is more fun to be nice than to be mean.
