1. FC Heidenheim 1846 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Christian Kaspar-Bartke/Getty Images Following the Fiorentina rejection.... With Thomas Müller’s upcoming departure, several clubs from around the world have been looking into adding the Bayern Munich star to their roster. It was most recently reported that clubs from the Premier League, the Turkish Süper Lig and the Serie A have inquired to bring Müller to their clubs. As reported a bit earlier, FC Cincinnati from the MLS was the most interested in bringing him.Per @iMiaSanMia, it is now known that Müller has rejected a contract offer from FC Cincinnati. Further, he has also turned down interest from Fiorentina. Perhaps he doesn’t want go down the Franck Ribery path.Cincinnati placed Müller on their ‘Discovery List’ making sure no other club can sign him unless the discovery rights are transferred. With his rejection of the contract offer, any other club is now free to place their contract offers. Clubs like Los Angeles FC are strong contenders, considering LAFC’s tie-up with Bayern. It remains to be seen where Müller will go to. Perhaps he might shock us and go to another Bundesliga club. Who knows? Where do you think he should go and why? Let us know in the comments below.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga showdown with Mainz 05? 1. FC Heidenheim - Bayern Munich Photo by Tom Weller/picture alliance via Getty Images FC Hollywood never stops being controversial, does it? Alphonso Davies’ eventual renewal with Bayern Munich...was a real rollercoaster. First, he was close to renewing back in 2023, two years before his contract expired in 2025, before then-board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić was sacked and negotiations had to wait until the new board member for sport, Max Eberl, was installed in March of 2024. Eberl did not have a lot of time to clarify the situation. Rumors about a total agreement between Davies and Real Madrid were out and about. Eberl issued Davies a deadline, which he and his agent completely ignored. Eberl then eventually agreed a deal with Davies worth around €14 million per year and €100 million in total in the summer of 2024, only for the supervisory board to shoot down the deal.Eventually, in January of 2024, Eberl negotiated an improved package for Davies of 120 million, which the supervisory board agreed on. Whew. Finally the drama is over, right?Wrong. Apparently, the decision makers at Bayern are mad at Eberl for letting the contract extension for Davies become so expensive, according to Sport1 reporter Stefan Kumberger (and captured by @iMiaSanMia): The costly contract extension of Alphonso Davies was the prime reason for criticism against Max Eberl internally. Davies received a staggering €22 million signing fee - a sum that caused a stir in the industry and prompted several players and agents to take notice. Jamal Musiala has also received a double-digit million signing fee, but significantly lower, it was considered to be in line with the market. The result was that Joshua Kimmich also wanted more money in the negotiations with Bayern - and even Dayot Upamecano is now making demands that are considered too high within the club. Many players are now orienting their demands with the numbers that Davies’ agent was able to negotiate with Bayern.BFW AnalysisWhat exactly did people expect? Eberl arrived at the club 15 months before the expiry of Davies’ contract and agreed a semi reasonable contract with Davies in good time. Then the supervisory board shut it down. Eberl then re-negotiated a new, more expensive deal because Davies had all the leverage and every opportunity to leave to find a bigger pay day. That is what happens in those situations. It really is that simple. So what is the takeaway here? That Davies’ agent, Nick Huoseh, should take a bow. Despite all his posturing and claims of amateurish work on his behalf, he took advantage of Bayern’s desperation and secured his client a contract that is apparently changing the market standard. Well played, sir. Well played.

CA Osasuna v Valencia CF - La Liga EA Sports Photo by Juan Manuel Serrano Arce/Getty Images Bayern Munich will have to make a decision on Bryan Zaragoza? In January of 2024, Bayern Munich paid €13 million for then-Granada CF attacker Bryan Zaragoza. At the time, Bayern Munich was clamoring for a different look at wing, but fans never really got a chance to see it. Sporting director Christoph Freund, who executed the move, and then-head coach Thomas Tuchel were not aligned as the German coach buried the Spanish winger on the bench. In the summer, Bayern Munich quickly determined that Zaragoza was not going to help them this season, so they shipped him off to Osasuna on loan. Now, a decision will have to be made on whether or not the 23-year-old has a future in Bavaria. Per Spanish outlet Superdeporte (via @iMiaSanMia), Osasuna wants to keep Zaragoza and Bayern Munich wants to recoup what it paid for him: Osasuna sporting director Braulio Vázquez will do everything possible to keep Bryan Zaragoza after learning that Bayern are not planning with the Spanish winger. Bayern want to recoup at least the €13m they paid to Granada for Zaragoza. What do you say Bayern Munich fans — should Bayern Munich give Zaragoza another chance or sell him to the highest bidder?Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga showdown with Mainz 05? 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Marcel Engelbrecht - firo sportphoto/Getty Images Ok, time to shift focus to Mainz for Bayern Munich... Palhinha heading to his old home? (Sport Bild via @iMiaSanMia)According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl. Fulham wants Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha back on its roster: Fulham owner Shahid Khan and coach Marco Silva would like to have João Palhinha back. Bayern are ready to sell the Portuguese midfielder if they get back close to the €51m they paid for him last summer. West Ham are also interested.Bayern Munich is going to have a hard time getting its money for Palhinha, whether it is Fulham, West Ham, or anyone else. After a season spent struggling to acclimate and getting injured, Palhinha’s value cannot be — and should not be — what it was even last summer. If Bayern Munich truly does not see Palhinha as a fit any longer, it might just need to cut its losses and take a lesser figure for him. Barca still looking to bring in Tah (ESPN)FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen center-back Jonathan Tah have been linked for months and it does appear that the two sides will at least have a serious chat this summer:Barcelona are set to prioritise signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, reports Diario Sport. The Blaugrana will focus on reinforcing their defence following impressive form from their forward line, and the 29-year-old Germany international is at the top of their shortlist as a player that can be signed on a free transfer. Just two months remain on Tah’s contract at the BayArena, with previous reports indicating that he plans to leave at the end of the Bundesliga season.Given Bayern Munich’s injury situation at center-back, there are some fans clamoring for Tah, but the ill-will between the parties might be too much to overcome. It remains to be seen if the Bavarians will look to add a center-back this summer or if Josip Stanišić will be the solution for 2025/26.Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: Bayern Munich vs. Mainz 05 (Bavarian Football Works) Bayern Munich will host Mainz 05 in a Bundesliga showdown between two of the top six teams in the league. While Bayern Munich has been looking strong, Mainz 05 has been sputtering as it desperately tried to claw back into a Champions League (top four) spot in the league table. A win over Bayern Munich would go a long way to changing Mainz 05’s fortunes for the season. This is what we have on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: A look at where each team is in the table and also a look back at the first match.A look at the injury situations for both teams. Why Bayern Munich fans should watch this game. A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI.A prediction on the match.Silva to Benfica? (ESPN)Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva could be leaving the club this summer, but will he end up with Benfica? Maybe:Benfica are working on bringing back two former academy stars, according to reports. First, they have contacted Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva to sound him out about a summer move, according to The Times. The 30-year-old made only three first-team appearances before leaving for AS Monaco, then moving onto City. Benfica wouldn’t be able to afford the €50 million release clause in his contract. However, Silva’s deal expires in the summer of 2026, so Benfica hope a lower transfer fee could be agreed. Meanwhile, Benfica are also working on convincing João Félix to return ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, Record reports. The Portuguese forward joined AC Milan on loan from Chelsea in the winter transfer window but has failed to impress. The Portuguese outfit twice tried to sign Felix, who has a contract with Chelsea until June 2031, in recent transfer windows without success.Conte in for Ancelotti? Bayern Munich - Holstein Kiel Photo by Sven Hoppe/picture alliance via Getty Images Bayern is doing everything in their power to ensure the keeper’s spot is in good hands in the post-Neuer era... When Manuel Neuer finally has to hang up his boots and gloves for good as a Bayern Munich player, there will be a massive void to fill. He is a player whose name is synonymous with FC Bayern and the Mia San Mia mentality, but there will come a time when someone else has to be the main man between the sticks for the club.Neuer is currently 38 years old and recently got a one-year contract extension at Bayern, but there has actively been planning in place to prepare for the time when he will no longer be the de facto number one keeper. Former club president and goalkeeping legend Oliver Kahn has stressed his opinion that he feels Neuer can play at the highest level into his 40s, but that sentiment has not prevented Bayern from planning for the future.Per information from Bild’s Christian Falk and Heiko Niederrer (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern is still very much keeping tabs on the goalkeeping market to stay open to ample opportunities that might prevent themselves. One player that currently has their attention is Toulouse’s Guillaume Restes, who is 19-years-old, but a promising young talent. FC Bayern München v GNK Dinamo - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD1 Photo by Marcel Engelbrecht - firo sportphoto/Getty Images Prepping for Neuer’s eventual decline from the starting spot has been in the works for a few seasons by now, and it was evident when Bayern came close to signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, who wound up signing for Liverpool as of this summer. The signing of Jonas Urbig from FC Köln on a deal that keeps him at Bayern through June 2029 was also a move very much made to prep for the poet-Neuer era and the Bayern captain has already confirmed there is a plan in place to have a sort of “job sharing” setup with Urbig next season to help the youngster integrate into the team. Urbig has already been impressing in training.Bayern will also take into account what the future hold for both Sven Ulreich and Daniel Peretz, as it’s likely both backup keepers will wind up moving on from Bayern by this summer or next winter. Peretz had the chance to go out on loan in January, but he decided to stay at Bayern, train with Neuer, Ulreich, and Urbig and be a part of the squad that is still in the hunt for two pieces of silverware.

Tottenham Hotspur FC v Southampton FC - Premier League Photo by Rob Newell - CameraSport/CameraSport via Getty Images From one club in London to the other? Could Chelsea FC make a move for Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel?Maybe — at least according to one report from GiveMeSport (as captured by Caught Offside). Tel’s loan to Tottenham Hotspur has given him further exposure to clubs in England, including Chelsea: Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close watch on Mathys Tel’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Blues poised to reignite their interest in the French forward should Spurs opt against making his loan move permanent.Tel joined Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich in February, with the North London club negotiating a £50 million option-to-buy clause as part of the short-term deal. Since arriving in North London, the 19-year-old forward has shown flashes of quality, netting two goals in nine appearances across all competitions. However, his long-term future at Spurs is uncertain, particularly with ongoing speculation surrounding the club’s managerial situation. A potential managerial change this summer could impact Spurs’ transfer priorities, putting Tel’s future at the club in doubt despite his promising displays.Chelsea had already expressed interest in Tel during the January transfer window, initiating contact with Bayern Munich as they searched for attacking reinforcements. While a move failed to materialise, their interest has remained strong.According to GiveMeSport, the club have refused to rule out a move for Tel in the summer if Spurs opt against signing him, as they keep a close eye on the player’s situation at the North London club.It seems as if Bayern Munich is ready to part ways with Tel (unthinkable at this time just a year ago). This Chelsea story could inadvertently put pressure on Tottenham Hotspur to make Tel’s loan a permanent transfer.Looking for more thoughts on why Bayern Munich fans are so split at the moment? 1. FC Union Berlin - VfB Stuttgart Photo by Andreas Gora/picture alliance via Getty Images Bayern munich truly might have had the deck stacked too much against it... Former Bayern Munich and Germany star Lothar Matthäus said what many people were thinking — the Bavarians were just too banged up to advance any further in the Champions League this season: “No team in Europe is capable of replacing so many key [injured] players. Nevertheless, Bayern have shown that they are still one of the top teams in Europe. Players like Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman came off the bench. The squad isn’t too weak, as has often been claimed recently. The only thing missing is another striker Inter’s advantage in this tie was simply that the team has been playing well under the same coach for four years. That created a stability that ultimately made the difference. Vincent Kompany gave me the feeling that ‘Mia san mia’ is back. Of course, he made one or two mistakes and perhaps should have started Thomas Müller in the first leg. But with decisions like that, hindsight always makes you wiser. In the games against Inter, the biggest weakness was the chance conversion. They have to work on that. But you can’t accuse Kompany of not having the team under control or not having a game plan. He has a great, brilliant game plan. No one would have believed Kompany was capable of what he achieved when he first joined. He reunited the team and made them play entertaining football. The players were enjoying themselves again, unlike the previous one and a half to two years.Due to many things that have happened in recent years, you can’t expect FC Bayern to win the Champions League or the treble [right now]. In recent years, some transfers have not been right, but the coach can’t do anything about that. João Palhinha was not a Kompany target, but Thomas Tuchel’s.”Matthäus is not wrong, but Bayern Munich is not looking for excuses. The Champions League tie with Inter Milan was still there for the taking despite all of the injuries. On another day, maybe Bayern Munich walks out of San Siro with a win. Looking for more thoughts and analysis of Bayern Munich 2-2 draw with Inter Milan in the Champions League that saw the Bavarians eliminated from the competition on an aggregate score of 4-3? Well, we have you covered with that on the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show where we break it all down. 1. FC Union Berlin v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Luciano Lima/Getty Images Despite their initial confidence that they would conclude contract talks quickly, they have recently encountered trouble. Among the defenders at Bayern Munich, very few have improved as massively as Dayot Upamecano. When he entered the club, he was extremely error-prone, and his game was scrutinised day in and day out. At one point, it was doubtful as to whether the Frenchman would continue to stay at the club. But he has turned the tide and emerged a starter. It is even speculated that in his presence, the Bavarians would have won against Inter Milan and progressed in the Champions League.Max Eberl and co. have had their hands full in the past year. They have handled several crucial contract extensions and manage to retain key players. This is even more imperative as the squad continues to settle in under manager Vincent Kompany. Currently, the management is focusing on the extension of Upamecano.Despite their initial confidence that they would conclude contract talks quickly, they have recently encountered trouble. Per Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk (via @iMiaSanMia), there are several reasons the two parties have not agreed on. The Frenchman wants a higher salary, akin to several of his teammates who have received significant bumps in pay. This of course, does not work out with the club’s need to cut costs as much as possible. Additionally, Upamecano’s team would like to reduce the release clause that the club has set for him. The current value of €120 million is perceived to be too high, and they demanded that the club reduces the value. With the team’s current requirement of Upamecano in the back line and Kompany’s desire to keep working with the Frenchman, it is near impossible for the club to simply deny him an extension as well. One can only wonder if the Frenchman’s agents wanting to reduce the clause amount means something more than meets the eye.

FC Bayern München Celebrates Its 125th Anniversary Photo by F. Noever/FC Bayern via Getty Images If there are any untapped gems lying around Säbener Strasse, that would be ideal. Upon his arrival at Bayern Munich, board member for sport Max Eberl was immediately tasked with reducing the club’s wage bill while keeping the roster at a world class level. Due to the constant turnover at the coaching and management level dating back to the Pep Guardiola era, Bayern has put itself into a financial pickle with some rash decisions. The first solution was to remove the high-priced veterans like Thomas Müller. The next step will be the sale of inconsistent players who make more than €10M annually, such as Kingsley Coman. However, the outgoing pattern creates a void on the pitch.Luckily, Bayern legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed the solution to Maximilian Koch.“Max Eberl and Christoph Freund presented the new guidelines to the supervisory board on how the squad structure should look in the future,” said Rummenigge (via @iMiaSanMia). “We’ll continue to have top players in the future who will earn very well with us, but we have to get to the point where the campus plays a bigger role.”Bayern’s senior squad is littered with academy products, including Jamal Musiala, Aleksandar Pavlović, Josip Stanišić, and Müller. Another handful of homegrown players are on loan at first division clubs but failed to break into the first team under Vincent Kompany.

UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 Second LegBayer 04 Leverkusen v FC Bayern München Photo by ANP via Getty Images The young goalkeeper has impressed his teammates at Bayern Munich... Aside of those times when Manuel Neuer has been injured, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has had the assurance of having the veteran at goalkeeper for his entire career at Bayern Munich. These last few weeks, though, Kimmich has played with Jonas Urbig and the Germany international likes what he has seen. “I felt a bit sorry for him at times, because a few goals always went in, but it wasn’t his fault. I can’t remember a single mistake,” Kimmich told kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Absolutely (Urbig can be Neuer’s successor), otherwise we wouldn’t have signed him.”Urbig has made a positive impression so far and could be “the next one.” While Bayern Munich has reportedly been monitoring the transfer market for goalkeepers, Urbig looks like he truly could be a keeper. 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by M. Donato/FC Bayern via Getty Images The 20-year-old wants to win his first title with Bayern and would ideally do it in style. What is it with FSV Mainz 05 and Bundesliga title races? Everyone remembers how Mainz drew with Borussia Dortmund and denied them a title as Bayern managed to limp clear of Die Schwarzgelben. Two years later, the title race may again end against Mainz. Eight points clear of their nearest title challengers Bayer Leverkusen, the Bavarians host Mainz in a bid to win the title. If Bayern win and Leverkusen do not, the title will be won in the Allianz Arena in front of all the fans.If not, the next opportunity would be away. To Rasenballsport Leipzig. It is safe to say, the former would be the preferred way of winning the Bundesliga. So while youngster Aleksandar Pavlović keeps in mind that the title is far from won, he cannot help but dream a little: “After the game in Milan [as Bayern were knocked out of the Champions League by Inter Milan], we were obviously disappointed. There’s only one goal now, and that’s the league title,” the Germany international stated recently, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “The coach and we as a team addressed that directly in the dressing room. Our full focus is on the next game. We absolutely want to win again against Mainz. I would be incredibly happy to win the title with my home club and be able to present the trophy to the fans. That would be breathtaking.”It certainly would be an utterly brilliant experience. The last time Bayern secured the title at home was in 2022 (ages ago by Bayern standards, you must understand). But Mainz will not be easy opponents, as they hope to crown their unbelievable season with Champions League football. To win the league in style, Pavlović and Co. will need to be at their best. And, of course, receive a helping hand from Lady Luck.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga showdown with Mainz 05? Eintracht Frankfurt v Tottenham- UEFA Europa League 2024/25 Quarter Final Photo by Ulrik Pedersen/NurPhoto via Getty Images It’s not looking like Spurs are going to want to buy Tel on a permanent basis after his loan spell ends Tottenham Hotspur has really been struggling this season in the Premier League, but they have managed to navigate their way to the Europa League semi-finals, so Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel can at least say he is still in European competition this season. After he was not getting regular minutes at Bayern under Vincent Kompany for most of the first part of the season, it became more and more clear that getting sent out on loan would be the best option for the player, and Tottenham was ultimately where he wound up despite it not being his first choice.Since he moved to North London on loan in the winter, Tel has managed to tally three goals from a total of 13 appearances across all competitions, which have included starting and playing the full 90 minutes from Tottenham’s last two Premier League matches. He also clocked 79 minutes in their 1-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinals. At this juncture, his last two goals have come in the recent Premier League win over Southampton followed by the 4-2 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.Per information from Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, Tottenham is not currently planning on activating the €50m buy-on option at the end of Tel’s loan spell, which Bayern had remained hopeful for possibly coming to fruition (via @iMiaSanMia). It has been a rough season for Ange Postecoglou’s side, but their attack has been riddled with injury problems this season and they are actively planning for what they want their firing line to look like come the start of next season. FC Bayern München v SK Slovan Bratislava - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD8 Photo by Adam Pretty/Getty Images Despite the current signal looking like Tottenham will not activate the buy-on option attached to Tel’s loan deal, Bayern is still hopeful that a potential deal for a sale to Spurs could happen. His market value per transfermarkt is currently at €40m, so there could be a way that Bayern could negotiate some sort of medium between that figure and the €50m buy-on option that was agreed upon for the loan deal. Of course, things could very well change from Bayern’s standpoint. The futures of Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and/or Leroy Sané could impact the club potentially needing Tel back at some point. It will also hinge on what ends up happening with Bayern’s much-anticipated move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz this summer, which is presumably going to cost the German Rekordmeister somewhere in the region of €140m. FBL-BEL-PROLEAGUE-ANDERLECHT-GENT The search to back up ‘arry continues. Bayern Munich are starting to become more adventurous with their transfer business. Early in 2024, Bayern signed Sacha Boey. Then, in the summer of that year, the Bavarians tried to sign Estêvão Willian from Palmeiras in the Brazilian league before Chelsea FC completed the signing. Now, Bayern may be looking to KRC Genk in the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium to reinforce their striker position.Bayern have already shown interest in some young Genk players, but the potential reinforcement in question now would be a back up striker, as reported by Dominik Schneider (and captured by @iMiaSanMia):Bayern are monitoring Genk’s Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare (24) as a potential backup for Harry Kane. 19 goals in 34 league games for Genk. €25M price tag. Dortmund and Stuttgart also made enquiries.A potential move to Bayern would not be Arokodare’s first stint in Germany, given he went on loan to FC Köln for the 2020/21 season. However, Arokodare spent most of his career in France or Latvia before moving to Genk and then blossoming. Would this be exactly the kind of creative transfer Bayern need to make, in line with the club’s cost cutting measures? Or would it be a far-fetched move that simply has no chance of working out? Probably somewhere in the middle of those two extremes, if we are being honest. Let us know down below.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga showdown with Mainz 05? 1. FC Kaiserslautern v Bayer 04 Leverkusen - DFB Cup 2023/24 Final Photo by Jörg Schüler/Bayer 04 Leverkusen via Getty Images Bye-er Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz? When recently asked if he would advise Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz on where to make his next move, German midfielder Robert Andrich at least knew where he did not want the young superstar to go — that’s right, Bayern Munich. “Yes, of course, there are a few comments that you make in this direction. I certainly hope he doesn’t leave, especially not to Bayern, because that would make them significantly stronger. But in general, Flo is very clear in his perception and his mind, and he also has a very good entourage. So no matter what he ends up doing, he’ll have thought it through. It’s best, of course, if he stays with us,” Andrich told Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger (via @iMiaSanMia). The reality might be starting to hit the Bayer Leverkusen squad that Wirtz could be in his final weeks with the club. While the squad’s magical run in 2023/24 will never be forgotten, fans will always wonder how things might have played out with Die Werkself if only Wirtz stayed longer.

FC Bayern München Training Session And Press Conference - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Quarter Final First Leg Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images WIll Thomas Müller play in North America? Jürgen Klinsmann is not quite ready to see Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller call it a career and thinks that MLS could be a fun destination for the 35-year-old. “Well, we have Marco Reus around the corner, and Marco is already enjoying it. He came straight into the MLS and won the championship right away. I think that once Thomas finishes the season and really thinks about his next step, he’ll be able to play a role,” Klinsmann told Sky Sport. “I do think the MLS can play a role there. American soccer, this league, has developed really well. It was founded in 1996, after the 1994 World Cup, and then expanded to include one team after another. It’s now a league with 30 teams, 15 in the East, 15 in the West, and it has truly grown and improved in terms of quality. It’s also really powerful, and the people who have enriched this league over the last two and a half decades speak for themselves. “Lothar Matthäus was here, and David Beckham, of course, gave it a huge boost. And now, of course, with Lionel Messi, it’s truly fantastic to see him here at Inter Miami. And I do believe Thomas would fit in there. I think he would enjoy playing here in the USA. “Of course, you’ll have a completely different environment, a quieter private life, because soccer doesn’t have the same status as American football, baseball, and basketball, but it’s still recognized. Soccer has grown here and can have a say, and so I hope that plays a role in his thoughts. Of course, ultimately it’s his decision.”Müller has been linked to LAFC, FC Dallas, FC Cincinnati, and San Diego FC. Will he make the jump? The Thomas Müller Era at Bayern Munich will end after this season. How do fans feel about it? How should fans feel about it? Is it just the natural course of a career even for a club legend like Müller — or could something have been done to make it a more palatable exit for fans and the player alike? One thing is for sure — there is a lot to talk about and discuss regarding the career achievements of a player like Müller and why it has all come to this. Who is at fault? Who should be blamed? Let’s talk about all of this and more on this Special Edition of Bavarian Podcast Works.Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. FC St. Pauli 1910 v Bayer 04 Leverkusen - Bundesliga Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty Images Can Bayern Munich close a deal for Florian Wirtz? According to a report from Abendzeitung journalist Maximilian Koch (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich’s plan for the summer is solely based around the pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz. If the Bavarians strike out on Wirtz, there might not be another big move in store: Besides Florian Wirtz, there are no other major transfers expected this summer. Bayern are rather focusing on a few adjustments to the squad and are holding out for bargains. Overall, Max Eberl, Christoph Freund and co. are satisfied with the squad. It is said within the club that without the many injuries in the decisive phase of the season, they would have made it further than the quarter-finals in the Champions League. In recent days, Wirtz has been very closely with both Manchester City and Real Madrid, which has shed some doubt on Bayern Munich’s ability to get a deal done. Wirtz has — allegedly — been impressed with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola’s plan for him, while Real Madrid could hire Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, a mentor figure to Wirtz. What does it all mean? Well, if Bayern Munich misses on Wirtz, fans might have to be prepared to “run it back” with a squad featuring almost everyone currently suiting up for the Bavarians. Are Bayern Munich fans just exhausted and mentally worn down from the past few seasons? Maybe! The supporters might be losing some steam after a tumultuous period, so let’s talk about why so many are just zapped. We’ve also got some chatter on the transfer rumors surrounding Kim Min-jae and why Joshua Kimmich is shouldering so much of the blame after Bayern was eliminated from the Champions League by Inter Milan.
