They are absolutely focused on him. Normally, because of the club’s current financial situation, they wouldn’t plan for a major signing this summer. But things are different because Florian Wirtz is on the market. Also, if he signs a new contract at Leverkusen (which is unlikely) with a release clause for 2026, that would also be fine for Bayern. The main thing for Bayern is to not lose Wirtz to another league.What does that mean? On the positive side, it appears that Bayern Munich is talking itself into not making any panic buys (good!), but it could also result in the team opting to run it back with its current group (not good enough!). Wirtz is clearly the player that Bayern Munich not just desires, but covets. Highly rated young winger Lennart Karl joined Bayern Munich in 2022 from Aschaffeburg, having previously had a stint at EIntracht Frankfurt. At just 14, the youngster suffered bouts of homesickness and understandably struggled in his first year in Munich. In the following two years, however, Karl has progressed at a very fast rate and it sees him put up some phenomenal stats, racking up 32 goals and 10 assists in just 26 games for both the U-17 and U-19 teams. With his progression to relative notability in Munich came the addition of a rather notable agent. Asked about his agent Michael Ballack, Karl elaborated on the relationship the two have: “We communicate regularly—whether in person or on the phone. Michael was a world-class player and a consummate professional, from whom I can learn a lot,” the fleet footed winger said, via Bayern’s official website. “He gives me valuable tips, telling me, for example, to stay true to my style of play and be authentic. But he also openly addresses where I need to improve—for example, in my defensive play.”But Ballack, a world class midfielder in his prime, is not young Karl’s role model. Does he have one? “Yes, Martin Ødegaard,” Karl said, before explaining that there are many qualities he and the Arsenal FC captain share. “He’s also left-footed, plays as a playmaker, has good vision, and a good finish. He was also a target of a big club (Real Madrid) from an early age and ultimately developed into a world-class player after several loan spells. He’s shown that patience and mentality are essential in addition to talent. But I definitely want to make it here at FC Bayern and one day play for the club in the Champions League.”Of course, Ødegaard’s truly big break came by moving away from the big club and moving to a smaller address. Hopefully, Karl will not follow his idol’s lead in this regard. But, if his statement is to be believed, he wants to succeed in Munich.

In recent weeks and months it has become abundantly clear that Leroy Sané really wants to stay at Bayern Munich and is entirely okay with the idea of taking a wage cut and going on a performance-based contract to be able to do so. The most recent reports have suggested that the winger is on the verge of agreeing to a new, three-year deal with the German Rekordmeister and a written offer has already been made up that just needs to be fine-tuned and finalized.Per information from kicker (via @iMiaSanMia), the talks between the club and the player are now in the final stages and an extension becoming official could be imminent. It’s also been reported that Sané received an offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad, which he turned down to be able to stay at Bayern, likely passing up a financially lucrative deal. He has also turned down interest from Arsenal in the Premier League, further cementing his intension to stay in Munich. The club has made it clear that they are financially planning for a blockbuster signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer and that the club also spent a great deal of money getting the contract extensions for Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich over the line. This is part of the reason why a wage cut, performance-based contract was really the only thing the club was going to be able to realistically offer Sané. Vincent Kompany also insinuated after Bayern’s 3-0 win over Mainz that he has taken notice of Sané’s spike in performances, hence why he has been getting more consistent minutes. So far this season, the winger has tallied 12 goals and five assists from 42 appearances across all competitions, and four of those goals have come within his last six Bundesliga appearances; a stretch where he has been in the starting lineup far more than he had been during the beginning stages of the season.

The story of Alexander Nübel at Bayern Munich is a strange one. Nübel joined Bayern after impressing for Schalke, only to be stuck behind Manuel Neuer in the pecking order and get shipped out on loans to AS Monaco and VfB Stuttgart. Currently, the player has spent three of his five seasons on the books in Munich away from the club, and will bring this tally to four of six in the coming Bundesliga campaign.After a solid first loan spell at Stuttgart in the 2023/24 season, negotiations were made that saw Nübel be part of a second loan agreement that would keep the player at his newfound home for two more seasons. When questioned about the situation regarding Nübel’s place for the 2025/26 season, Sky Sports reported on Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle (as captured via @iMiaSanMia) saying, “Personally, I haven’t received any signals that there will be any changes [to the loan agreement]. We’re looking forward to Alex Nübel playing for us again next season. He’s a very important factor for our team, he exudes a lot of calm and stability, and is also a great guy. Therefore, I’m delighted that he’ll still be playing for us next season.”While Nübel’s immediate plans seem taken care of, it’s unclear what the future will hold for the 28-year-old shotstopper. Whether it be due to increasing fitness concerns or declining ability, Manuel Neuer seems to be nearing the end of his career. Jonas Urbig has been deputizing for Neuer while he’s been out with his most recent injury, but as a young and inexperienced goalkeeper, he might not be ready to take the role permanently. He has constantly been plagued by an injury to his Achilles which he continues to play through, made noticeably more blunders defensively than the rest of Bayern's defenders and seems to be the latest on the club's to-sell list. Talking to Tz's Phillip Kessler, Kim Min-jae opened up on his difficult second season at the club. "The Achilles tendon problem is still there. But I'm gritting my teeth, closing my eyes and getting through it. Mistakes, injuries, or too many games – those are perhaps just excuses. I still have to stay focused. That's my job. I have to be able to deal with that. Mistakes were also caused by pain, of course. But ultimately, I should have played better," said Min-jae(via @iMiaSanMia)Min-jae has received his fair share of criticism across the season for his mistakes on the pitch, but his words run deep. Bayern have been stretched thin defensively by injures to other center-backs this season, which consequently placed Kim in a position no footballer wants to be in: being forced to play through an injury.Min-jae hasn't been at his best, but he takes complete accountability for that and leaves no space for excuses. That is indicative of a strong mentality that belongs at Bayern. His commitment and sacrifice to the team is unquestionable, and that shall not go unrecognised. For around a month now, there have been consistent reports linking Bayern Munich to a move for Olympique Marseille winger Luis Henrique. Speculation grew exponentially when the Bavarians’ head coach Vincent Kompany and sporting director Christoph Freund were spotted in the stadium as Marseille took on Paris Saint Germain in Le Classique. But perhaps that visit cooled any links. A report by Hanna Rein and Philipp Kessler, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, certainly indicates that the interest in the Brazilian winger has cooled: Vincent Kompany has not been convinced by Luis Henrique after watching him in action. That’s why Bayern didn’t follow up their interest with a concrete move. Inter are in pole position to sign the Brazilian.How ironic that it would be recent Champions League vanquishers Inter Milan who would look to pounce for Henrique after Bayern drop the pursuit. It was first against Eintracht Frankfurt, a fixtures that took place on October 6, 2024, that Bayern Munich player Kim Minj-jae first says he felt pain in his Achilles tendon. But it is an issue that has followed him to this day. In the 7 months that have followed, Kim has had to rack up a lot of minutes playing through the pain barrier as the issue has remained unaddressed. He started the match in the Bundesliga against FSV Mainz on the weekend, as well, but could not remain on the field due to pain in his Achilles tendon.Despite the way he has soldiered through the pain this season, however, there seems to be dissatisfaction at the club at the former SC Napoli player’s performances, via BILD (and captured by @iMiaSanMia): Kim Min-jae was subbed off at half time yesterday because he felt pain in his Achilles tendon again. With Thomas Müller’s tenure at Bayern Munich coming to a close very soon, the attention is towards all the titles he can bag with the club before his departure. Müller’s legacy at the club is unforgettable — he has played a pivotal role in the club’s history. The trophies play testament — he is the second most decorated German player with 33 trophies after Toni Kroos. This statistic is however subject to change, with Kroos’ retirement last year after bagging 34 trophies. However to Müller, titles do not mean everything. Per FIFA and @iMiaSanMia, he spoke on the upcoming Club World Cup. “It’s not about titles. The title is just the piece of metal you get when you win the competition. But that’s not what makes you happy,” he stated.Further elaborating, he said that the journey matters more. “The journey there is what excites me. It’s about constantly taking on the pressure, both physically and competitively – and winning,” he said. Looks like the Raumdeuter still enjoys winning but he just wants to do it in style. He explained his excitement about this tournament. “The attraction [of the competition], of course, is that it’s a World Cup. In this format, it feels a bit more like a World Cup,” he described.It goes without being said that all eyes will be on the CWC as it will be one last dance. For, the most unbelievable statement is now the truth — Thomas Müller will be playing his last game at Bayern Munich at the age of 35 years. The same age where the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Yann Sommer, Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski and Luka Modric were considered to still play at near-full capacity. Hell, they all bagged trophies at this age. One can only wonder what could have been, for it is only possible for us to enjoy the little time we have left with our own one club man.

In the summer, Bayern Munich will be participating in the inaugural summer edition of the Club World Cup. The tournament has been met with very mixed reception, but it will give incoming players a chance to immediately prove their mettle at their new clubs. Enter Tom Bischof, who has already agreed a free transfer to Bayern Munich for the summer. The 19-year-old Germany youth international will look to get a chance to prove he can compete with the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović for a prominent role. However, there is a problem. Bischof’s contract ends on the 30th of June, as is the nature of most contracts in European football, but the Club World Cup begins in mid June. If Bischof were to simply join in July, he would miss the group stages of the tournament, a very inconvenient situation indeed. Hoffenheim will need to release their youth academy graduate early from his contract, something their sporting director, Andreas Schicker, is willing to do. Still, a “good solution” will need to be found before Bischof can leave Hoffenheim: “Bayern have already contacted us. We won’t stand in Tom Bischof’s way. If a good solution can be found, he can take part in the Club World Cup,” Schicker tells reporter Dennis Bayer (via @iMiaSanMia). “I’m confident that a solution will be found.”It sounds for all the world as if Hoffenheim want to receive a financial compensation in order to release Bischof from his contract, even though Hoffenheim will contest no matches during June. Barring some miracle, Thomas Müller has played his final Champions League match. Müller will finish third in appearances (163), sixth in goals (57), and sixth in assists (30). Müller had hoped to finish his Champions League career by hoisting the trophy at the Allianz Arena. Instead, Müller played the full 90 minutes in Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw against Inter Milan that ultimately saw the German giants eliminated in the quarterfinal stage. Sport Bild dropped an interesting tidbit regarding Müller’s behavior immediately following the match (via @iMiaSanMia).In the dressing room after the Inter second leg, which was his last Champions League game for Bayern, Thomas Müller made a symbolic ‘passing of the baton’. Müller deliberately took Aleksandar Pavlović and Josip Stanišić next to him, both homegrown players like himself, and told them: ‘You have to keep going. Things go on. You can still win many titles here. Now is your time.’It is peculiar that Müller singled out the younger guys like Pavlović and Stanišić, rather than the locker room leaders like Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka. Kim Min-jae has had a turbulent experience at Bayern Munich thus far, looking like one of the best defenders in world football at times, and a few mistakes off Harry Maguire levels of banter at others.Coming to the end of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, Bayern seems poised to have a busy transfer window with several players’ futures up in the air. With a total of five first-team centerbacks at the club, Bayern would be open to selling South Korean international should the right deal arise for both club and player. Previously, it was revealed that Chelsea, Newcastle, and Juventus might all be interested in the player, and journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that several European clubs are monitoring Kim’s situation. It’s also been unveiled that Saudi clubs are inquiring about the player. Kim Min-jae has concrete chances to leave Bayern in the summer in case of good proposal for both club/player.
He’s not untouchable, as several clubs in Europe are informed on the situation.

Even PSG is expected to finish the Ligue One season with an undefeated record.When every team is searching for an edge, it is easy to fall victim to buying the big name rather than the right player. At the moment, Manchester United is the epitome of that cautionary tale.In a recent interview with Bild Sport, Bayern president Herbert Hainer assured Bayern fans that the German club will not be pulling the emergency lever any time soon.“It’s true that we can still sell 5% of our shares, but that’s not in our plans at the moment,” said Hainer (via @iMiaSanMia). “We as a club, our task is to generate money to be able to be active on the transfer market. Other clubs abroad have investors and oligarchs, our basis at FC Bayern is our members. That’s the strength of FC Bayern. There have always been clubs with more money than us, but we were more successful than them.
