POTUS’s motorcade departed the Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach at 3.50pm.

Supporters of POTUS were gathered opposite the golf club entrance with flags, camera phones and a Trump mask. There were also more than a dozen Trump and US flags flying from vehicles and blowing in the wind. The biggest said ‘Fight Fight Fight’ and had a photo of POTUS with fist raised after last year’s assassination attempt. One car window had a photo of POTUS giving a thumbs up.

DER SPIEGEL, a prominent German news outlet known for its in-depth journalism. Based in Hamburg, DER SPIEGEL started as a weekly print magazine in 1947, founded by Rudolf Augstein, and has since grown into one of Germany’s leading media brands.

It has a reputation for good, in-depth investigative reporting.

The magazine’s print circulation was around 724,000 copies weekly in 2022, making it one of Europe’s largest news magazines, though it has declined from its peak of over a million in the 1990s. Online, DER SPIEGEL runs spiegel.de, which evolved from Spiegel Online (launched in 1994) and merged editorially with the magazine in 2019.

Historically, DER SPIEGEL has been a big deal in German media—think of it as a watchdog that’s broken major scandals, like the 1962 Spiegel Affair, where it clashed with the government over defense leaks, cementing its free-press cred. It’s politically independent, often leaning critical of power structures, which you also see in its X posts tackling everything from German policy to global crises.

But it’s not flawless—there was a 2018 scandal with a reporter, Claas Relotius, faking stories, which dented its trust a bit.

According to GROK, “On X, @derspiegel’s tone is sharp and factual, often highlighting its scoops—like a March 2025 post about Germany seizing a Russian oil tanker to tweak Moscow’s nose despite sanctions. It’s a mix of serious reporting and occasional hot topics meant to spark discussion, all tied to its brand as a heavy hitter in German journalism. Posts found on X also show some users praising its depth, while others call it out for bias or past missteps, reflecting a polarized audience.”

According to an investigation by George News, DER SPIEGEL’s main website seems unsafe for its many thousands of readers.

Anyone who has made ANY type of interaction with its website, derspiegel.de, it at major risk of having their personally identifiable information (PII) used by bad actors.

As we did with The Atlantic, using rudimentary OSINT tools, we were able to confirm, that tens of thousands of private email addresses and passwords are viewable to the general public.

We were able to view thousands of staff email address handles, as well as records of DER SPIEGEL readers, that involved; registration, purchases, lost password resets, and new password requests.

As one of Germany’s largest online publications, this is a national embarrassment.

Just days ago in fact, DER SPIEGEL ran a “hit piece” on Trump cabinet staff, regarding personal information they were able to obtain via very old data breaches.

We will be contacting German authorities and government officials with the information we have found, as the German people deserve answers.

Vance is speaking to a group of US Space Force Guardians on base and is flanked by Mike Waltz, Chris Wright and Mike Lee. Usha Vance and Julia Nesheiwat are sitting in the front row.

Vance is criticizing Denmark and says it has not done enough to keep Greenland safe.

Please check quotes to tape —

But let's be honest, what Denmark over the last 20 years has failed to do in some cases, because we know that, unfortunately, this place, this base, the surrounding area, is less secure than it was 3040, years ago, because some of our allies haven't kept up as China and Russia have taken greater and greater interest in Greenland, in this base, in the activities of the brave Americans right here.

They haven't kept pace with military spending, and Denmark has not kept pace in devoting the resources necessary to keep this base, to keep our troops, and in my view, to keep the people of Greenland safe from a lot of very aggressive incursions from Russia, from China and from other nations.

Our message to Denmark is very simple, you have not done a good job by the people of Greenland. You have under invested in the people of Greenland and you have underinvested in the security architecture of this incredible, beautiful land mass, filled with incredible people.

Speech is ongoing...

Vance said “It’s great, thank you,” when asked how the briefing was. Sec. Wright gave a thumbs up.

Vance is now getting a briefing of the harbor, according to a Vance spokesperson. He will then give remarks on base.

Air Force Two touched down at the Pituffik Space Base in Greenland at 12:52pm local time/ 11:52am ET after taking off from Joint Base Andrews at 6:18am ET.

It is -3 degrees and there are clear, sunny skies in this remote, northwestern corner of Greenland that is 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle.

It was an uneventful flight and nobody from the US delegation came back to speak to your poolers. We could see Waltz in one of the cabins closer towards the front of the plane. Fox News played on the televisions for the duration of the flight. We flew for hours over massive sheets of cracked ice and snow-covered mountains as we made our way up through Canada and then over to Greenland.

The Vice President and Second Lady stepped off Air Force Two at 1:07p local/ 12:07p ET. Vance is wearing blue jeans and a green coat.

The Vances were greeted by Colonel Susan Myers and Chief Master Sargent Holly Vaught of the Pituffik Space Base on the tarmac.

The Vice President and Second Lady are now scheduled to have lunch with members of the military stationed at the base before receiving briefings.

Signal is a bit spotty.

The motorcade reached Mar-a-Lago at 4.48pm after passing flag-waving Trump supporters along the route. A travel/ photo lid was called at 4.52pm.

Before that, here is what POTUS said on Air Force One just as it was coming into land, a bumpy experience for reporters standing around him with equipment.

POTUS: "We're in the process of landing. I didn't realise. Quite late. Is everything good?"

Q: After the call, you seem to be much more positive about Canada than you've been in the past?

POTUS: "No, I just think, you know, I've always loved Canada. We had a very good conversation. The Prime Minister - they've got an election going on, so we're going to meet after the election."

Q: You've been talking about the pharma tariffs and what you expect there. Are you going to exempt life saving medications or what can we expect?

POTUS: "Well, we'll be announcing it soon. But we have to bring pharmaceuticals, drugs and pharmaceuticals, back into our country."

Q: What's the rate you're looking at? 15%?

POTUS: "We're looking for a certain number that will be enough to get the drugs and the pharmaceutical companies bringing their product into our country. We never want to have to rely on other countries for that like we did in Covid."

Q: Reciprocal tariffs. A lot of countries are making gestures including Britain.

POTUS: "They want to make deals. It's possible if we can get something for the deal. But, you know, we've been taken advantage of for 40 years, maybe more, and it's just not going to happen any more. But yeah, I'm certainly open to that. If we can do something where we get something for it."

Q: Could that happen before the tariffs are announced?

POTUS: "No, probably later. It's a process - we're landing right now. Sit down. I don't want you to get hurt because I love the fake news. Oh-oh, we're landing right now. I don't want to see anybody get hurt. Have a good time. Good luck, everybody. Good luck. Sit down."

Air Force One touched down moments later and no one was hurt.

To: DL WHO Wranglers
Subject: In town report #1: Leavitt gaggle

Good morning and happy Opening Day from the White House. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt gaggled with reporters for about three minutes after a Fox News hit.

She said the White House has not yet received a request from Congress about the Signal chat, and would only say "stay tuned" when asked to preview the executive orders the president is scheduled to sign later.

Full quotes below:

On MS13 arrest: "This is a big win for the American public, and the president is very proud of Attorney General Bondi and the FBI Director Kash Patel, and they worked alongside Governor Youngkin in Virginia. So, we applaud the effort of state and local law enforcement. This was a very violent individual who was picked up in a home with five children present. So, our communities are safer this morning, and it's a good day for our country."

Update on internal investigation into Signal chat?
"Not this morning, but we've been incredibly transparent about this entire situation, and we will continue to be."

On auto tariffs and when lumber/pharmaceutical tariffs might be expected:
"Well, I won't get ahead of the president on any additional tariffs. As you know, on April 2, there will be the reciprocal tariff announcement, which is going to focus on countries particularly that have been ripping off the United States. The president said yesterday he thinks that some of these numbers would be more conservative than many people are expecting, but we're going to make sure that American workers are put first, and we're ending the unfair trade practices that have been hollowing out our middle class for decades."

"And I would just like to emphasize these auto tariffs yesterday are a big deal for auto workers in the industry. And you saw the United Auto Workers Union, Shawn Fain, who wasn't the greatest fan of the president on the campaign trail, came out this morning and applauded the president for this move, saying it's a great thing for auto workers who have been sold out by unfair trade practices."

On whether the White House will change its message or hold anyone accountable on the Signal matter:
"Well, we have never denied that this was a mistake, and the national security aviser took responsibility for that. And we have said we are making changes. We are looking into the matter to ensure it can never happen again. But of course, the president has put together a team — look at the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who was voted in by the United States Senate, putting our war fighters first, making the world a safer place for the American people and for all people. And we're going to stay focused on that. and I think the arrest of an MS 13 gang leader this morning speaks volumes about the confidence of the president and his team."
