Test Type Statistics: Academic IELTS 🔝 vs General IELTS
Unsurprisingly, in terms of the exam type popularity, 🔝 Academic IELTS, without a doubt, is the leader — three-fourths of all IELTS-takers go for the Academic type of the exam.
General IELTS 🔝 has the remaining 25%.

💬 1 Month remaining for my IELTS exam Shall I go to the mock exams everyday?
No. If you want to get a higher score, you need to improve your general English. IELTS is just a test of your level. If you do a test of your level and get Band 6, why would you expect to do another test and get a different score? It isn’t logical, is it?
Einstein said that it’s madness doing the same thing and expecting a different result; well, IELTS is the same. ❗️
So, you don’t have much time but if you want to improve your score, do a general English course.

Your IELTS Pronunciation 🗣 score represents 25% of your Speaking score.
But many students do not spend 25% of their preparation time on pronunciation.
Essential Pronunciation Features are:
✅ Sounds and Stress
✅ Consonants & Vowels
✅ Speech chunks
✅ Chunking & Pausing
✅ Intonation
✅ Connected speech
✅Vocal features
✅ Voice quality
Focusing more on pronunciation will improve your Speaking score.

Nowadays, it is commonly opined that punishment introduced in the early years of life is pertinent for youngsters to distinguish between good and bad. I completely agree with this notion and would expatiate on the need for corporal punishment both at home and in schools.
To begin, the early years are the formative stages of life hence, habits and behaviours, beneficial or destructive, are easily imbibed by children. This implies that they are not able to draw the line between what is acceptable or not. However, to understand this distinction, certain disciplinary measures are required. For instance, a pre-schooler who is spanked for playing with his food will learn that that it is wrong and deter from such. Likewise, if praised for arranging his toys after play, he will certainly inculcate the habit of doing so. Therefore, the chastisement of children is important to ensure that they learn good morals.
Furthermore, corporal punishment has become crucial in and outside the home. This is because more and more children are becoming increasingly adamant and highly disobedient making it almost impossible to caution them verbally. Hence, to bring about immediate changes in antisocial behaviours, inflicting a degree of physical pain through smacking, holding or paddling is essential. In Nigeria, for example, statistics show that rebellious and reckless behaviours are often observed among adults who were punished using alternative measures such as timeouts and consequences. Evidently, the onus is on caregivers as well as tutors to apply physical force to help children become more responsible adults.
In conclusion, I believe that it is absolutely imperative for disciplinary action to be taken against juveniles right from their early days to encourage them to clearly differentiate between beneficial and destructive conducts. Also, physical punishment should be instituted in and outside the home.

What makes IELTS band 8 different from 7.5 and 7 in the speaking test? 🧐
When you get to the higher bands like 7 and up, the difference tends to be errors and complexity of ideas/grammar/vocabulary.
• A Band 7 candidate 👉🏼 makes their ideas clear, uses accurate grammar/vocabulary most of the time and there aren’t any breakdowns in communication.
• A Band 7.5 candidate 👉🏽 can present more complex ideas and use some more complex grammar/vocabulary when needed. This might contain some errors but meaning isn’t lost.
• A Band 8.0 candidate 👉🏾 can present more complex ideas, use more complex grammar/vocabulary pretty freely and makes very few errors. Meaning isn’t lost.
This is very general as everyone is different but you get the idea. #Speaking
