This is one of those books where you expect something interesting to happen but it never does.

My point is, first of all, if you wanna change your life, you don’t have to read books(at least at this stage in your life)
Dont waste your time.
Do homework
Learn skills
Be a good person
Manage your time
Call your mom and dad sometimes.
This is the summary of the majority of the self-help books.
Second of all, if you reaaaallly want to change your life(your attitude towards life) only by reading books, I recommend reading Dostoevsky. I’m recommending this because I recently finished Crime and Punishment. It’s not a self-help, it’s a psychological thriller and it makes you think and reflect.
I honestly don’t understand what the fuss is about ‘self-help’ books.
Whenever I go to a bookstore, there is a whole section dedicated to this genre. A book by Will Smith, a book by Steve Harvey, a book by another actor/celebrity, how to get rich in 4 steps, how to fix your life and what have you.
Do people really read such books and change their lives?
One common mistake I see students(and even teachers) make is the usage of 'recently' or 'in recent years'
'Recent' usually refers to something that happened in the past. So, you cannot use it with present simple or present continuous
P.S: use ‘present perfect’ or ‘present perfect continuous’, instead
