Hamas has released a propaganda video featuring hostages Yosef-Chaim Ohana, 24, and Elkana Bohbot, 35, both abducted during the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023. In the video, Ohana reports that Bohbot is in deteriorating health, refusing food and water, and has engaged in self-harm. Ohana also accuses Israeli authorities of bearing responsibility for their plight, stating, “Your hands are stained with blood.” The video concludes with messages urging a ceasefire to secure the hostages’ release.
Bohbot’s family responded, expressing anguish over the continued captivity and calling on Israeli decision-makers to act decisively to bring all hostages home. Previous reports indicate Bohbot suffers from asthma and has developed a severe skin condition due to the inhumane conditions of his captivity.
The families of Yosef and Elkana have approved the distribution of Hamas’s latest video.

The IDF has released the names of two soldiers who fell in combat in southern Gaza:
Sergeant Yishai Elyakim Urbach, 20, from Zikhron Ya’akov, served in the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion of the 188th Brigade.
Staff Sergeant Yam Frid, 21, from Sal’it, served in the Golani Reconnaissance Unit of the Golani Brigade.
During the incident in which Sergeant Urbach was killed, another soldier from his unit was severely injured. In the incident where Staff Sergeant Frid fell, a combat officer from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit, a combat officer from the 605th Battalion, and another soldier from the same unit were also seriously wounded.
All injured soldiers were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment, and their families have been notified. May the memories of the fallen be a blessing.
The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed the elimination of Muhammad Rasmi Marzouq Barakeh, a Hamas terrorist involved in the October 7 attack and the kidnapping of 86-year-old Yafa Adar. He was seen escorting Adar into Gaza and was killed in an airstrike near Gaza City.
Adar, who was held for 49 days before being released, responded: “There can be no closure while my grandson Tamir and 58 other hostages remain in Gaza. The only victory will be their return.”

Kanye West just released a music video called “Heil Hitler,” and he chose to drop it on May 8 — the same day the world marks VE Day, which is when Nazi Germany surrendered in World War II. It’s supposed to be a day that honors the defeat of the Nazis, but instead, Kanye used it to push more antisemitic hate.
The video, filled with disturbing fascist-style visuals, was taken down from most platforms for violating hate speech rules. Kanye said he made the song out of anger over losing custody of his kids and having his bank account frozen.
This isn’t new — he’s posted antisemitic messages before, even calling himself “a Nazi.” Despite past bans, his account was restored in 2023, and now he’s back spreading the same hate.
Former Israeli hostage Emily Damari has publicly condemned the Pulitzer Prize board for awarding Palestinian poet Mosab Abu Toha who referred to Israeli hostages as “killers”, citing his past comments that questioned her captivity and justified the October 7 Hamas attacks.
In an open letter, Damari described her 500-day ordeal in Gaza and criticized the board for honoring someone she equates to a “modern-day Holocaust denier.”
She urged the Pulitzer committee to rescind the award, stating that recognizing Abu Toha undermines truth and desecrates the memory of victims.

Tarek Bazrouk, 20, was arrested for allegedly assaulting multiple Jewish victims across NYC between April 2024 and January 2025. He targeted people displaying Israeli flags or Jewish symbols.
Federal prosecutors say his phone contained antisemitic messages, support for Hamas, and Nazi ideology. He faces three federal hate crime charges, each carrying up to 10 years in prison.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the arrest sends a clear message: “We are not backing down.”
Ireland has formally requested the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to discuss Israel’s participation in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, citing concerns over the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This appeal comes despite the EBU’s previous confirmations that Israel meets all criteria for inclusion in the competition.
The Director General of Ireland’s national broadcaster expressed being “shocked by the ongoing events in the Middle East, by the terrible impact on civilians in Gaza, and by the fate of the Israeli hostages,” while affirming the broadcaster’s commitment to impartial coverage.
This move follows a letter signed by over 70 former Eurovision participants calling for a boycott of Israel’s entry. Nonetheless, Israel remains a strong contender, with representative Yuval Raphael rising to fourth place in betting odds after her first rehearsal in Basel.
For the first time, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee officially visited Judea and Samaria, hosted by the Yesha Council at the Ancient Shiloh site. Welcomed by Binyamin Regional Council Head Yisrael Ganz, Huckabee toured the biblical site, met local leaders, and recited Hannah’s Prayer, calling for the release of hostages and safety of soldiers.
Huckabee praised the Jewish connection to the land, saying, “It would be a historical injustice and a denial of the Bible to use other terms” than Judea and Samaria. He emphasized spiritual solidarity, adding, “You are not alone. We stand with you, and so do many around the world.”

REPORT: The United Arab Emirates is reportedly mediating secret talks between Israel and Syria, focusing on security and intelligence matters. These indirect contacts aim to build confidence between the two nations, which currently have no official diplomatic relations.
The discussions began shortly after Syrian President Ahmed Sharaa’s visit to the UAE on April 13. While the talks are centered on counterterrorism efforts, they exclude direct military issues, particularly those involving Israeli military activities in Syria. The mediation comes amid recent Israeli strikes in Syria, including one near the presidential palace in Damascus.
Syria’s new leadership has expressed a desire to unify the country and has taken steps to show it poses no threat to Israel, such as detaining members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad involved in past attacks.
Yemen’s Sanaa International Airport has suffered damages estimated at $500 million following Israeli airstrikes, according to Yemeni reports. The strikes destroyed six planes, including three belonging to a Yemeni airline. On Tuesday, Israel targeted the airport, power stations, and a cement factory, deploying dozens of aircraft and dropping over 50 munitions in an effort to weaken the Houthis. This operation follows similar actions in January and earlier this week.
The message? Loud and biblical. Netanyahu didn’t just quote “an eye for an eye”—he warned the Houthis they’ll lose several.
The remains of Sgt. First Class Zvi Feldman, missing since the 1982 Battle of Sultan Yacoub during the First Lebanon War, have been recovered by the IDF and Mossad in a covert operation.
Feldman disappeared alongside Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz and Sgt. First Class Zachary Baumel, whose remains were returned to Israel in 2019. The battle, fought in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, resulted in 21 Israeli fatalities and over 30 injuries.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s unwavering commitment to locating all missing soldiers, stating, “For decades, Zvika was missing, and the efforts to locate him, along with the other missing soldiers from that same battle, never ceased for a moment.”
Details of the operation remain classified. The recovery of Feldman’s remains brings closure to a decades-long national effort.

The U.S. is no longer requiring Saudi Arabia to recognize Israel as a condition for moving forward with a civil nuclear deal—marking a major policy shift.
Under Biden, nuclear talks were tied to normalization and a defense pact. But Saudi Arabia has repeatedly said it won’t recognize Israel without a clear path to Palestinian statehood.
Despite the change, a deal is still far off. A key issue is Riyadh’s refusal to sign a 123 agreement, which would restrict uranium enrichment and reprocessing.
U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said both sides are working toward a framework. The talks come ahead of Trump’s visit to Riyadh, where more discussions are expected.

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been elected as the 267th Pope by the conclave in the Sistine Chapel, choosing the name Pope Leo XIV.
A new chapter begins at the Vatican.
India announced the killing of Abdul Rauf Azhar, the Pakistani terrorist responsible for the 2002 beheading of Jewish-American journalist Daniel Pearl.
Azhar, affiliated with al-Qaeda and Jaish-e-Mohammed, was targeted in “Operation Sindhoor” following recent attacks by Pakistani terrorists in Kashmir.
Pearl, then The Wall Street Journal’s South Asia bureau chief, was kidnapped in Karachi while investigating terror networks. His captors accused him of being an Israeli spy and executed him after the U.S. government did not meet their demands.
In a video released before his death, Pearl stated: “My father’s Jewish, my mother’s Jewish, I’m Jewish. My family follows Judaism.”
Pakistan has condemned India’s operation, accusing it of targeting civilians and escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel has confirmed 21 hostages are alive in Gaza, aligning with U.S. President Donald Trump’s earlier statement. This contradicts previous reports suggesting 24 hostages were alive. The status of three additional hostages remains unclear. Negotiations for a ceasefire and hostage release are stalled, with mediators Egypt and Qatar increasing pressure on Hamas ahead of President Trump’s upcoming visit to the region.
Israel’s current proposal includes releasing about half of the living hostages in exchange for a 50-day ceasefire, without committing to a permanent end to the war or a full withdrawal from Gaza. Hamas continues to demand a comprehensive agreement that would end the war entirely.
UN human rights chief Volker Türk warned that Israel’s expanded Gaza offensive marks “a very dangerous moment for civilians,” saying, “What we see is only more destruction, more hatred, more dehumanisation.”
He called for a ceasefire, the unconditional release of hostages, and an end to the blockade: “The blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip needs to be lifted immediately… That’s an obligation under international law.”
Türk also said the UN Security Council “is not functioning well” and urged the world to return to “the principles, the values… because they have served humanity well for 80 years.”
The United States and Israel are reportedly discussing a proposal for a U.S.-led temporary administration to govern Gaza following the current conflict. This plan, reminiscent of the post-invasion Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq (2003–2004), aims to oversee Gaza’s demilitarization and stabilization before transitioning power to a viable Palestinian administration.
The envisioned authority would exclude both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority but involve Palestinian technocrats and possibly international partners. However, the proposal poses significant risks, including regional backlash if perceived as U.S. occupation.
The United Arab Emirates has suggested an international coalition for Gaza’s governance but insists on including the Palestinian Authority and a pathway to statehood.
