Original reporting on everything that matters in Israel!
Today, as we solemnly remember the six million Jews and countless others lost in the Holocaust, our hearts are also heavy with the ongoing suffering of the 59 hostages held in Gaza for 566 days.
The horrors of the past demand we stand against all forms of dehumanization and violence. We remember the victims of the Holocaust and urgently call for the safe return of the hostages to their homes and families. May their freedom come swiftly, and may we learn from history to build a future where such atrocities and prolonged suffering cease. ❤️🎗️✡️

The family of Rom Braslavski, 21, released new footage from a video filmed by his Palestinian Islamic Jihad captors. In it, he describes severe conditions, saying he’s been held in Gaza for over a year and a half with little food, water, or medical care.
Lifting his shirt, he shows red sores and says he’s “sick half of the time.” His family said they shared the unblurred video so “his cry can be heard.” Braslavski was kidnapped from the Nova festival on October 7, 2023.

Sasson said standing on the podium with the Israeli flag was an emotional and proud moment.
The IDF dismissed a deputy commander and censured another after an internal probe found “professional errors” led to the killing of 15 rescue workers in Rafah on March 23. Troops mistakenly opened fire on ambulances, a fire truck, and a UN vehicle, believing them to be threats.
Though the investigation found no ethical violations, it cited serious failures in protocol, misidentification of vehicles, and poor reporting. The IDF expressed regret and said it would review and tighten guidelines for operations involving medical teams in combat zones.
The Red Crescent rejected the findings, calling the investigation “full of lies.”
Israel revoked entry visas for 27 French lawmakers and officials from left-wing parties just two days before their planned visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories. The group, which included members of France’s Ecologist and Communist parties, called the move “collective punishment” and urged President Macron to intervene.
Israel’s Interior Ministry said the decision was made under a law allowing entry bans for individuals deemed likely to act against the state. The lawmakers had been invited by the French consulate in Jerusalem for a five-day trip aimed at promoting peace and cooperation.

Today in history: April 20 marks the birth of Adolf Hitler — a figure whose actions had a devastating impact on the Jewish people and the world.
His life serves as a reminder of how dangerous unchecked hate and extremism can become.
The effects of his ideology didn’t end in 1945. We still see echoes today — from rising antisemitism to modern-day tragedies.
This isn’t about giving him attention, but about reflecting on the past so we can make better choices for the future.
Even 136 years later, history continues to teach us why it’s so important to stand against hate in all forms.
Let’s keep remembering. Let’s keep learning. And let’s keep speaking up.
After Hamas released a third video of hostage Elkana Bohbot, Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed Israelis, vowing not to surrender to terrorists. He said giving in to Hamas’s demands—like ending the war for hostage releases—would erase Israel’s wartime gains and put the country at risk.
Netanyahu criticized opposition calls to first free hostages and then resume fighting, calling the idea unrealistic and dangerous. “Hamas is cruel, but not stupid,” he said. “Surrendering would endanger the country and you.”
Police have confirmed that Barak Tzach, 45, a father of four from Petah Tikva, was killed in a rare shark attack off the coast of Hadera. Human remains were positively identified after a large-scale search involving divers, helicopters, and jet skis.
Tzach had gone to the beach after work to film sharks with a GoPro, according to his wife, Sarit. She strongly denied rumors that he had baited the sharks with dead fish, saying he entered the water with only snorkeling gear and a camera.
A fisherman told her Barak was keeping a distance and did not feed or touch the sharks. When they began getting too close, he used his camera stick to push them away and started swimming back — that’s when the attack occurred.
Eyewitnesses described seeing three sharks and a large pool of blood. One bystander recorded the scene, shouting, “They’re eating him… he’s fighting them.” Another witness told Channel 12 that Tzach cried out, “I’ve been bitten!” before disappearing into the water.

A deeply concerning antisemitic cartoon has been published by South Africa’s Daily Maverick in response to a recent visit by South African parliament members to Samaria.
The image depicts the delegation returning from their “fact-finding mission” with Israeli flags covering their eyes, symbolizing blindness to the reality, and their feet drenched in blood — falsely implying complicity in violence.
The cartoon’s caption has them declaring they “saw no evidence of apartheid,” directly attacking their observations and support for Israel.
This incident underscores the intense and often hostile environment surrounding discussions of Israel in South Africa, particularly following the delegation’s unprecedented expression of support for Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.
The use of such inflammatory and historically loaded imagery demands condemnation.

A new report from the Anti-Defamation League reveals a record-breaking 9,354 antisemitic incidents in the U.S. last year — averaging over 25 per day, or more than one every hour. For the first time, most of these incidents were linked to hatred of Israel.
The total includes assaults, harassment, and vandalism, and marks:
• A 5% increase from 2023
• A 344% increase over the last five years
• An 893% increase over the last decade
• The highest number recorded since ADL began tracking in 1979
ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said: “This horrifying level of antisemitism should never be accepted and yet, as our data shows, it has become a persistent and grim reality for American Jewish communities,”
The IDF and ISA struck around 40 Hamas engineering vehicles used in the October 7 attack and ongoing terror activities. These vehicles were involved in breaching Israel’s border, planting explosives, and hiding weapons. The strike aimed to dismantle a key part of Hamas’ operational capabilities in Gaza.

“It’s obviously a very important goal, but if you want to destroy Hamas so that there can’t be another October 7, you need to understand that there can’t be a situation where Hamas remains in Gaza.”
His remarks sparked fierce backlash from hostage families and politicians across the spectrum. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said the statement revealed “the hard truth” — that the government has chosen to give up on the captives.
Coalition MK Moshe Gafni also condemned Smotrich, calling the hostages “the most important issue.” Smotrich responded by accusing Gafni of having a “diaspora mindset” and insisted that defeating Hamas is essential to saving lives in the long term.

’F* Israel, Free Palestine’ Chanted at Coachella by Irish Band Kneecap.
During their debut at Coachella, Irish hip-hop group Kneecap projected anti-Israel slogans and led chants of “Free Palestine” before thousands. The group accused Israel of genocide and U.S. complicity, comparing Palestinian suffering to Irish history. They later claimed their messages were censored from the festival’s livestream.
Hamas just released a third video of Israeli hostage Elkana Bohbot, where he looks weak and scared, pretending to talk to his family — a call that was clearly staged and made under Hamas’s orders. He begs to be saved, says he’s afraid he’ll die, and urges people to keep fighting for a deal to free the hostages.
He mentions that soldiers signing petitions to end the war “care more about their citizens than the government,” and even asks his brother to go to Trump for help. His family, who allowed the video to be published, is heartbroken and is demanding that he and all the other hostages be brought home now.
