Despite a U.S.-mediated ceasefire, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis say they’ll keep attacking Israel in support of Gaza. A top official confirmed they’ll halt strikes on U.S. forces if the U.S. stops its own, but vowed “no retreat” from operations toward Israel until the war on Gaza ends and aid is allowed in.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a significant airstrike operation targeting Houthi-controlled infrastructure in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.
The primary focus was Sanaa International Airport, which the IDF reports has been “completely disabled” following the strikes. The operation also targeted power stations and a cement factory used by the Houthis for military purposes.
Ecuador will open an official diplomatic office in Jerusalem this week, signaling stronger ties with Israel. President Daniel Noboa and Foreign Minister María Gabriela Sommerfeld Rosero made the announcement during a visit to Israel to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations. While Ecuador’s main embassy will remain in Tel Aviv, the Jerusalem office—located at Hebrew University—will have official diplomatic status and focus on innovation and research. Israeli President Isaac Herzog welcomed the move and hinted at hopes for a future embassy relocation to Jerusalem.
This decision comes despite Ecuador’s past recognition of the Palestinian state and stands in contrast to recent moves by Bolivia, Colombia, and Nicaragua, which cut ties with Israel over the war in Gaza. Meanwhile, Argentina under President Javier Milei has deepened relations with Israel and formally designated Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Airstrikes were reported in Yemen’s Hodeidah port city, with Yemeni media attributing the attacks to Israel . The strikes targeted Houthi-controlled areas, including infrastructure used for military purposes.
These developments follow a series of escalations between Israel and the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, who have launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory, including a recent strike on Ben Gurion Airport that injured several people . In response, Israel has conducted multiple airstrikes on Houthi positions in Yemen, aiming to disrupt their military capabilities and deter further attacks.
The situation remains tense, with both sides exchanging threats and the potential for further escalation in the region.

🚨 A major shake-up in Israeli sports: Oren Smadja, head coach of Israel’s national judo team, has resigned, citing disrespect from federation officials.
In his statement, Smadja wrote: “I am worried about the future of Israeli judo. Therefore, I felt I had no choice but to sacrifice myself for the future of the sport. Perhaps my resignation will make someone understand that if I’m throwing in the towel, it’s time for a thorough investigation of what’s happening behind the scenes.”
His exit sends a serious warning about the state of the sport.

A ballistic missile launched by Yemen’s Houthi rebels struck near Ben-Gurion Airport, evading both Israel’s Arrow and the U.S.’s THAAD missile defense systems. The Arrow system initially attempted interception but missed; subsequently, the THAAD system also failed to neutralize the threat.
Israeli officials are investigating whether the failure was due to human error or technical malfunction.
Houthi-affiliated media claimed the missile was a new model designed to bypass radar detection, though Israeli officials stated the missile was not unusual and similar ones had been intercepted previously. The incident has raised concerns about the effectiveness of current missile defense systems and prompted discussions on enhancing Israel’s air defense capabilities.
The IDF arrested two individuals overnight — one from Nablus and one from Tubas — for incitement on social media.
The suspect from Nablus posted messages supporting the recent fires and openly called for the murder of Jews.
The suspect from Tubas shared similar content, calling for more arson attacks, violence, and expressing support for Hamas.
According to the IDF, these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and online incitement, especially during the recent wave of arson attacks in Judea and Samaria.
President Donald Trump announced that the number of living hostages held by Hamas in Gaza has decreased from 24 to 21, indicating that three hostages have died. He provided no further details regarding the identities or circumstances of the deaths. Israel has not officially confirmed this updated figure. Previously, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, mentioned that the number was less than 24, which caused distress among hostage families who had not been informed of any changes.

In an open letter organized by Artists for Palestine UK, they accuse Israel’s broadcaster, KAN, of complicity in alleged war crimes in Gaza and criticize the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for a perceived double standard, noting Russia’s 2022 ban following its invasion of Ukraine.
The letter references last year’s contest, where Israeli entrant Eden Golan faced harassment and was compelled to alter her song lyrics due to political sensitivities. This year, Israel is represented by Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the Nova Festival attack, performing “New Day Will Rise.” Despite the controversy, the EBU has maintained Israel’s eligibility, emphasizing the contest’s non-political nature.
