🇵🇰⚔️ | 18 Mar, 2022: PAF is paying tribute to the 1965 war hero Air Cdre Mohammad Mahmood Alam (Late) on his 9th death anniversary. Alam achieved the remarkable feat of downing 5 Indian Air force jets in under one minute during the 1965 war - A record that remains un beaten till date.

The legendary PAF pilot shot down five Indian fighter jets piloting his F-86 Sabre jet plane, becoming an “Ace in a Day” on 7th September 1965. In total he had 09 kills and 02 damages during a period of 11 days.

🇵🇰🇷🇺 | Pakistan plans to finalise a Russian-built gas pipeline despite international pressure to isolate Moscow economically, as the US ally searches for alternatives to ease a domestic energy crunch.

"We need a gas pipeline to transport LNG from south to north. That’ll become almost essential for us in the next two or three years,” he said. “Either there’s an alternative for us or we’ll go ahead with this deal . . . This is the best alternative as of now, and this was obviously done before Ukraine crises.”

A nuclear deal between the US and Iran would allow Islamabad to revive a plan to build a pipeline delivering gas directly from Iran to neighbouring Pakistan, which is suspended because of international sanctions. “If there’s a deal . . . this is the cheapest [option]. It’s next door,” he said. “It’ll be very good for us.”

Finance minister further added it was “only fair that people should respect” Pakistan’s “neutral” stance. The west “have been our allies for a very long time. We’re listening to them, but we told them, ‘Listen, we don’t believe in taking sides. We’re with you as much as China and others’,” he added. ⛽️

▫️Akinci is a twin-engined turbo drop long-range UCAV drone capable of 27 hours endurance, with range over 7,500 kilometers. It has flight ceiling above 40,000 ft.

▫️The drone has the capacity to carry a payload of 1,350kg, including AAM / SAM missiles, anti tank guided missile, thermobaric bombs, ATG precision munitions, SOMs & wing-assisted bombs - to say a few.

▫️It is equipped with an indigenously manufactured active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, a SAR/GMTI radar & a surveillance system.

It has signal intelligence suite (SIGINT), and SATCOM allowing Akinci to become an UCAV as well as ISTAR+C3.
