💠 Farewell to the House of Allah
On the authority of Ibrahim b. Abi Mahmud: I saw Abu al-Hasan (Imam al-Reza (as)) bidding farewell to the House of Allah. When he wanted to leave through the gate of the Mosque, he fell on prostration. Then, he stood up and faced the Ka‘ba and said,
"O Allah! I return, believing that there is no god but You."

◾️ Dhu l-Hijja 9 - Martyrdom of Muslim b. Aqil and Hani b. Urwa (60 AH - September 10, 680)
▪️ Muslim b. Aqil, cousin of Imam al-Husayn (a) and his representative in the Kufa before Battle of Karbala and was from Abi Talib. Muslim was present in some conquest of Muslims as well as the Battle of Siffin. He went to Kufa as a representative of Imam al-Husayn (a) to provide the Imam with a status report of the city and make sure that people of Kufa are persistent and truthful in their invitation of the Imam.
▪️ However, after that Ibn Ziyad was appointed as the governor of Kufa, and because people were afraid of him, they suddenly left Muslim alone. Thus, he was arrested and martyred on the day of 'Arafa (Dhu l-Hijja 9), 60 (September 10, 680).

They are those against whom the Word [of torment] is justified among the previous generations of Jinn and mankind that have passed away. Indeed, they are ever the losers.
أُولئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ إِنَّهُمْ كانُوا خاسِرِينَ
📖 Surah Al-Ahqaf, Verse 18
⚜️ The reason is that they are all losers. What loss is worse that losing all one’s capabilities and gaining the Divine Wrath? In comparing the dwellers of Paradise and Hell in these Verses we notice that one group attain to growth and development and the other loss all their capabilities and turn into losers.
The former are grateful to God and their parents but the latter are ungrateful and show their disrespect to their parents. The former shall abide in Paradise near to God and the latter are the dwellers of Hell to abide there among faithless people.

▪️Appreciate the Day of Arafah
The hours from noon to the evening of Arafah Day are important hours. Each and every moment of these hours- like an elixir or remedy- are important. Therefore, we should not let these moments pass with ignorance.
One of the prayers that we should read on this day is the astonishing supplication of Imam Hussain (as) which is the manifestation of humility, dhikr (remembrance of God) and supplication before God. Another prayer is Imam Sajjad's (as) supplicationin Sahifa al-Sajjadiyyah. You should read these prayers in a deep and deliberate manner because this is your provision for the path to the hereafter.

It is narrated that before God turns His gaze to the land of Arafat, He first looks upon the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (as). This divine attention is granted during critical and decisive times such as Laylat al-Qadr, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and Eid al-Ghadir. The most virtuous act during these days is the Ziyarah of Imam Hussain (as).

▪️The night of the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah is among the blessed nights — a night for intimate prayers to Allah, the Granter of needs. On this night, repentance is accepted, and supplications are answered. Whoever spends this night in worship will be rewarded with the equivalent of 170 years of worship.
