I mean I read that the Omni devs also were talking to add Omni tokens to the OmniBOLT Lightning network. E.g. USDT could be send really fast with no/very low fees on L2.

No. But there’s no need to move them. Ever. As long as you have the private key safe. The conversion will be a snapshot so you will need it to confirm you own the MAID

MaidSafeCoin is an Omni layer token, which is also supported by Trezor devices. However, no existing wallet software supports Omni layer on Trezor, so the only option is to hand-craft transactions and submit them via Electrum.

Probably because BTC is finally clearing up some mixed signals. Above 72.000 I guess the market is ready to rally up more. Plus the roadmap for Safe Network looks steadily progressing, dips are getting bought, and so much more going to make it attractive in near future.
