Does that matter. It's just a tool that you may need to use from time to time to send omni tokens. Nobody was asking you to marry it.

I have my MAID on a legacy BTC address that I have had for longer than i can remember. when i loaned maidsafe some MAID, i opened a new omniwallet, imported the private key, sent the MAID, deleted the private key, and never touched the omniwallet again.

Sorry but leaving any amount of coins on any exchange is just wilful ignorance. It shows blind faith in extremely untrustworthy institutions.

It sucks, but right now I wouldn't bet on Bittrex reopening withdrawals anytime soon. They usually took their time with wallet maintenance in the past and I cannot imagine they have a full team running operations at the moment. When liquidators take over, you never know what's going to happen.

I'm in the same situation. I only have maid in Bittrex.
I use ledger or metamask, but I don't like omniwallet and I have always left the maids there for many years. It is clear that it was a big mistake because now I depend 100% that bittrex will have the withdraws again.

Thanks. The Coinomi wallet has the Omni layer, but I cannot choose MAID specifically. Does that mean when I enter the BTC address on Bittrex I will receive my MAID in the Coinomi wallet?

Approaching the 4 December deadline is probably going to make people nervous, would you hold MAID on an exchange, knowing you have to withdraw soon but the wallet in maintenance without having the option to trade the asset after 4 December? It's a really awkward time to go into wallet maintenance and one can only hope it will be resolved soon to prevent more people from force liquidating.

The market usually prices chance in. The fact that nobody is selling EMAID ($0,19) and buying back MAID ($0,09) means the market expects a high probability of the wallet not going out of maintenance. Otherwise, everyone would take that risk. I'm very cautious giving advice, selling at current prices is better than having them stuck at Bittrex when liquidators step in. Keeping them on the exchange now is a risk, but at these prices the risk might be worth it for some.

Yes I know that leaving coins in exchange is risky, this is why I moved the major part to externals wallet, but it wasnt the case with Maid.
Now I prefer to wait to open the withdraw than sell in this price, I hold Maid for years I can wait time to do the withdraw.

You could sell on Bittrex and buy back emaid on uniswap. Looks like more people are doing it because emaid price continues to be stable/rising while MAID continues to dump.

Not sure how much you hold, but it might be a better solution then having to buy a trezor.

Right now, unforuntantly, there is no way to tell for sure. Hopefully the wallet will go out of maintenance asap, but with their bankruptcy, weird things can happen. Trading will halt within 1 week. Fingers crossed mate. 🤞

There are ways to create bitcoin paper wallets. Find a way to do this offline. Create a legacy bitcoin wallet with an address starting with 1. Legacy addresses all started with 1 and omni uses legacy addresses. Put a tiny amount of bitcoin in this address. This can be done later, but needs to be done sometime because omni uses this to move omni tokens. Finally, transfer MAID to this same address. Now put private key of paper wallet in safe place. Your MAID are safely on it.

No ETA, usually when wallet goes into maintenance it takes around 2 weeks for them to get it out of maintenance. Given current circumstances I'm not sure if it will shorten that timeline or increase it. I guess some are already speculating on it not opening again at all, looking at the price action.
