I wouldn't say, so, it's up to those that believe in the ideals to keep that notion strong. I am personally one of them and Blockchain can set us free , however as you pointed out it can become that slippery slope and we could find ourselves back in the grip of the very thing we are trying to escape. Yes, it's OK and trustable, as long as you're accessing the right link.
Now you see... with xPortal you can't mess up the link if you're accessing it from the Hub. This is one of the cool xPortal features, integrating the most essential & useful ecosystem dApps directly in the app.
But of course this won't change the entire experience if this is not working well for you. If you would be kind enough, I would like to hear your thoughts on what exactly doesn't properly work for you with xPortal.

I don't think the burn address has a herotag.

xPortal also allows you burn N/SFTs directly by navigating into N/SFT and tapping the 3 dots in the top right of the screen and selecting 'burn'.

Not everyone is so adamantly against Google. If we are going for adoption we have to branch out to brands that everyone knows. This is a very easy solution so people can simply click and spin up a observer node. Not everyone has the means or know how to have their own severs at home and it is by no means obligation. Having it an option and individual choice for the node runner is what freedom is all about, is it not?
