America First is LIVE! Tonight we are discussing the US attack on Iran and the new ceasefire

My preliminary analysis based on the events of the last 48 hours are that despite the US strikes, muted Iranian response, and dubious announcement of a ceasefire— the fundamental strategic situation between Israel, Iran, and the US has not changed.
Israel continues to seek regime change. Iran's nuclear program has apparently not been destroyed. And there is little hope that the United States can resume diplomacy with Iran.
Iran's retaliation and their apparent decision not to withdraw from the NPT or close the Strait of Hormuz is de-escalatory. Trump has clearly preferred a diplomatic resolution throughout the 60-day timetable and the "12-day war."
Israel cannot survive a sustained conflict of this nature with Iran. Which means they will have to escalate their tactics or sue for a temporary ceasefire.
Earlier today, the Washington Post reported that IRGC commanders received a 12-hour ultimatum from Mossad to oppose the Iranian regime or have their families killed. Israel is carrying out the most intense strikes since the war started as we speak, including assassinations.
Is this one last blow before a short reprieve? Or a last-minute sucker punch to provoke Iran into reneging on the ceasefire, assuming there was such an agreement.
Israel's attack on Iran galvanized the public against the West and rallied them to the regime. Are the IRGC assassinations and ceasefire a gambit to leave room for an "organic uprising" to breathe?
There are still conflicting reports on the ceasefire. And why would Iran trust the US and Israel after they broke similar agreements with Hamas and Hezbollah and after the surprise attacks by Israel and the US? The fog of war remains...
Much to consider, but the fact remains that the forces that drove these hostilities remain unchanged, and have probably intensified.
Thank you to everyone who tuned in to my coverage of the US strikes in Iran last night— 63k peak live viewers!

There is a certain group/network of MAGA aligned influencers on X that seems like their job is to reaffirm Trumpism and to try to delegitimize anyone who criticizes Israel.
Whatever your current feelings are about the crisis or Trump, the developments of the past week on immigration and Iran should at the minimum cause frustration or disquiet.
According to the official positions of each player involved— Iran is looking to deescalate, the US has decided against intervening (for now) and is pursuing diplomacy, and Israel continues to seek US support for strikes on Fordo while advancing its strategic objectives of denuclearization and regime change.
This dynamic is fundamentally unchanged since before Israel and Iran started shooting last week. Israel opened fire in order to sabotage diplomacy and hasten/catalyze a military confrontation between the US and Iran.
If Trump could not restrain Israel BEFORE they opened fire, how could he restrain Israel now? And if Israel initiated this kinetic phase of the war to force the US into the conflict, why would they stop now?
Iran and the US are not going to be able to resume diplomacy, to the extent that is even plausible, until Israel stops bombing Iran. Why would Israel stop bombing Iran before it achieves its strategic objectives?
Maybe Trump thinks that Israel is the “bad cop” which will force Iran into giving up its nukes. But I don’t think Israel sees it that way, and neither does Iran.
Has Israel pushed it this far to achieve some negotiated settlement with Iran similar to the JCPOA? Will Iran agree to a worse deal for them than the JCPOA after being rugpulled by Trump and bombed by Israel?
I think the answer to these questions is “no.” What is the inevitable? A lot of hemming and hawing and possible Jewish tricks until ultimately Trump is persuaded to bomb Fordow. Many will think this is a low-cost, limited, acceptable level of involvement but it will only give way to a more involved regime change operation, with or without the US.

Something to keep in mind right now— don’t pay too close attention to the minute-by-minute reporting or rumors, especially of decisions coming from Israel and the US.
This situation is evolving just as quickly, and what is true now may not be true in an hour.
What is important to watch and consider right now, just as before, is the strategic objectives of the parties involved.
Many people were waiting for a breakthrough Gaza ceasefire agreement throughout 2024 because they were paying too close attention to headlines and public statements rather than reading between the lines of what was actually happening.
