About the pool,it stays with the sponsor. Nimiq has no general contracts, so I won't hold sponsor funds. The app is the rules, snapshots and proof layer: it publishes each staker's payout, the sponsor pays from their own wallet, and the app checks every payment on-chain and shows paid or missing publicly. Only a small self-funded demo pool would sit in an app wallet, labelled as custodial.

Snapshots,daily to start, and only stake present in both this snapshot and the previous one counts. Staking in just before a snapshot earns nothing for it, so to earn you have to stay staked. Bigger pools can use hourly snapshots.

What else would you want to see before a validator funds one?

Hi validators

I’m building a free Nimiq Pay mini app for the Cycle III Earn category: NIM Stake Campaigns. A sponsor funds a NIM pool, stakers opt in with one signed message, and the pool is shared by stake and time. Rules, snapshots and payouts are all public, with no chance mechanics. A sponsor can choose to count only stake delegated to their validator, so it works as a way to attract delegators. Would any of you fund a first pool, even a small one, and what would you want to see before trusting it? At Sip & Ship I was told I can build this for Earn. Reply here or D.M me.

What would happen if the bridge operator were compromised and submitted fraudulent hashes ?? Could an attacker mint unbacked NIM on Polygon or unlock NIM on the native chain without a legitimate deposit or burn? What safeguard would prevent this?

Update: what's shipped since last update 🌱

Earning
- The Earn card now shows the rewards earned since your last visit, what the chain actually paid you over the last 30 days next to the pool's estimate, and what each validator has earned you all time

- Get paid and leave NIM idle? NimBooks asks "Stake it?" with what that payment could earn in a year, and one tap to stake just that amount

- The validator picker ranks pools by net yield, then reliability, with non-producing pools last. My own pool, ImpactZero, is always labelled Builder's pool so you know who runs it

- A partial unstake that would drop you under the 100 NIM minimum is explained before you send it, with a one-tap Unstake all

- The Stake button always says why it can't be pressed yet

Records
- Statements and the tax report count every staking reward back to January 2025, with NIM prices back to 2018

- Payments and stakes made from Nimiq Pay show up in History properly, and NimBooks checks the chain before ever offering to pay twice

interesting idea, quick q tho , where does the pool sit while the campaign runs ? sponsor wallet or yours ?
since nimiq has no general contracts, if the app holds it thats custodial, if the sponsor pays out then app is more like a calculator + proof layer
also how often are snapshots ? if its coarse ppl can hop stake in before a snapshot and out after

not team but my read from the post: operator only relays hashes, contracts still check proofs against them and there's no withdraw function, so the operator cant just take the locked NIM

but yea safety still depends on those hashes being correct, unless the contracts verify the other chain's consensus themselves (light client or zk proof)

guess its a v1 tradeoff since every new contract type on nimiq needs a protocol upgrade

question for the team: will the oracles check validator signatures, or is there a plan to move to a light client / zk verification later ?

I think your app can be considered as a 'Non-Winning' Mini App, even though it received a special reward.

Just make sure to make 'significant improvements of new functionality' to be fair and avoid any problems when the council judges your app.
