Divine Hiddeness

So now that we have established the core concepts behind the extra dimensional hypothesis as an explanation for divine hiddeness, let us apply this to ancestral faiths.

It is known that the Hellens would make pilgrimage to Mount Olympus and give offerings there. And to those who were not mentally prepared, it was hidden; whilst there are other reports which do record interactions with Gods and glimpses of the city itself. To those who are not prepared it would make them mad. So Gods are hidden for our benefit and well-being until you're ready.

It is also a fact that Mount Olympus itself has a known gravitational anomaly and mantle uplift with unaccounted mass 3x what should be there. The Geological Society of London attributes this to "extra mantle beneath the surface," that just so happens to be at the location the ancients went to catch a glimpse of Gods. Could it be that this "uplift" is attributed to a mass "above" and connected to said mountain?

Something to ponder 🤔

Utilizing this thought experiment of a 3-dimensional creature(3d) interacting with a 2-dimensional creature(2d), as shown in the video above, and in the novella 'Flatland,' there are several properties that can be observed, so to speak:

• a 3d can speak to a 2d and it would appear to come from all around and within simultaneously
• a 3d being above a 2d can see inside and outside structures as well as multiple places at the same time
• a 3d appearing to a 2d would seem to the 2d like a being that can appear and disappear, also can change size, shape and form
• a 3d taking a 2d into the higher dimension would very likely be incomprehensible to the 2d, which others might view to be crazy or tripping.

Those who have experienced spiritual phenomena often report things such as these; and yet nobody, to my knowledge, has attributed these same phenomena with the properties of potential extra spatial dimensional beings. That what we call supernatural is natural yet to be explained

"Fight for your people in every way.
They are the flock that is good for their lord.
It is they who find what one lives for,
so they are good too for burial.
Watch over your ka priests; if the son is lazy, there is still the pure-priest.
The one called an heir is the one who does favour.
Initiate the noble, and recite on his name.
Honor the blessed dead, bring the food-offerings (to them).
For doing is more useful to the doer than to the one for whom it is done; it is the nourished dead who protect the one who is on earth."

One of the lessons we're working on at Kvasir Academy is how to sing in Galdralag, the traditional meter used for chanting and invoking the gods. As part of an assignment, I wrote a simple galdr to Þórr. It's basic and can easily be expanded upon, but I wanted to share it to show the kind of material we're learning.

Soon, we’ll have blótgothi's and blótgyðja's trained and ready to perform rituals while singing to the gods in the traditional way—honoring them through voice, meter, and devotion.

We pray to Þórr,
Hear us call upon you now,
Strongest of gods and men, son of Óðinn.
For this shall he be invoked.

He who outwitted Alvíss,
And defeated Hrungnir, dread of the jötnar.
Leikn was lamed, and her laughter stilled.
For this shall he be invoked.

We pray to Þórr,
Bring us peace and prosperity.
Hallow our homes, and ward our hearth.
For this shall he be invoked.

Hail Thor

Is forgiveness a thing in heathenry?

No. Forgiveness was not a concept that our ancestors considered as a theological aspect of their spirituality. Instead of forgiveness, our native inclination revolved around the concept of redemption.

Redemption in our faith is not like the xtian idea of a savior redeeming our souls; but rather an act or series of acts to redeem one's honor when a dishonorable act was committed.

The act/s one does to "Redeem" their honor is called atonement. When one is atoning for their wrongs and crimes, they are specifically doing so to regain their honor in the eyes of their folk and the gods.

Our culture was/is an honor based culture. Losing the honor that your kith and kin held of you was one of the worst possible punishments one could face, next to full outlawry.

When dishonorable acts were committed, public shaming was a horrible punishment upon the individual. If the individual did not redeem their honor in the eyes of their folk and the gods, they risked dying in shame. To die in shame risked your family soul or fylgja, abandoning you in the life after this. If this were to occur, your ancestors may not recognize you and may not welcome you to the kin well where all the souls of your ancestors dwell. In such a state, ones soul may be lost or stolen by ill beings who may drag your soul to realms where ones essence is devoured and torn apart.

This is why the honor and shaming system of our culture, which was the law of the tribe created uniformity and cohesiveness of the tribe.

Shaming would motivate people to atone for their ill actions, which brought dishonor upon their family.

Shaming was/is a powerful instrument of punishment that corrects ill behavior and preserves the honor of ones family and tribe.

For instance, several markers are made for Jól and Disting, which predate Christianity in Northern Europe, and runes are obviously adapted from our ancestral faith. So, while we take the origins of this with a grain of salt, we can adapt it to our tradition, as it is the best information we have available in rebuilding our yearly markings.

We plan on publishing this calendar in the year to come.

It is, therefore, with good reason that many cities…will not admit either rhetoric or philosophy, on account of the jealousy, and strife, and profitless discussions to which they give rise; And it is owing to this, too, that Theodorus the Atheist was put to death, and that Diagoras was banished; and this latter, sailing away when he was banished, was wrecked.

Divine Hiddeness

Let's also use the example of Germanic faith with this hypothesis. Some people attribute Yggdrasil with the "axis mundi" for the rotational axis, which the earth and sky (from our perspective) spins. This has been used to justify forms of syncretism of the pie veriety. The problem with this is that Asgard is regarded in the legends to be "up" and to the South, whereas Hel is "down" and to the North. Because Midgard is in the middle of Yggdrasil, there is nothing attested up and to the North which is the "axis mundi" rendering the "axis mundi = Yggdrasil" hypothesis null.

So in this context the words for "up" and "down" may very well be referring to moving along this extra spatial dimensional axis. Where Yggdrasil "passes through" our world but not in the way it aligns by Earth's rotational axis. Applying this concept to Gods, like Sunna who is stated to pull the sun with her chariot, could very well be the case but just in that extra dimensional space.

It can explain why our ancestors knew the description of Odin, yet he could travel in disguise in such a way you would never notice such as what is recorded in Grimnismal.

What this hypothesis is not trying to do is align ancestral faith with soyence, and apologies if it came off that way. What it is trying to show is that all of the phenomena attributed to Gods, as well as some mysterious concepts, like the locations of these other realms, can have a real, natural and imminent explanation, without relying on Gods being orbs floating outside of existence, aka transcendence.

You may agree or disagree with this hypothesis. However questions such as those relating to divine hiddeness need answers, and this hypothesis to the best of my knowledge can explain all the phenomena in a unified and coherent way. If there is a better hypothesis I would love to hear about it. But until then hopefully it has given you something to at least think about. The more we look into the ancestral ways, the more we see their customs were not mere superstitions. On this channel, we have discussed many things the ancients believed to be true through modern means, such as my series on sacrifice. Perhaps this hypothesis could pave the way to seeing and explaining divine phenomena and the faiths of our blessed forefathers and foremothers.

Gods love you!

The extra dimensional hypothesis may be fine as a hypothetical, but can we "prove it" with actual evidence? The answer may very possibly be yes. :Note: What is about to be said next is a hypothetical explanation for known questions in physics, providing possible answers.

Let's ask the question, do things in our universe pop in & out of existence? The answer is yes, dubbed virtual particles, particle anti-particle pairs are known to pop into existence & annihilate in our universe. Some particles have even been detected disappearing.

Here's another question, are there things we cannot detect that we know exist because of their effects? Again the answer is yes, dark matter. Based on gravitational lensing, astrophysicists state there is 5 times more dark matter than there is physical matter to account for observed effects seen in the night sky. If we assume gravity affects 4d & 3d the same, it could explain why we detect it's effects but not being able to obtain dark matter.

Sometimes those of us who follow ancestral faith, and don't use axial-age transcendence concepts, get asked something to the effect of, "if Gods directly interact with the world, why can't I see them?" This is a question in relation to the concept known as divine hiddeness, but how does one answer such a question?

On this channel we have proposed a hypothesis that Gods are real extra dimensional beings. By "adding" an extra spatial dimension, which we can't perceive as 3 dimensional beings, it can explain all the phenomena associated with Gods without relying on logic defying metaphysics. Based on this hypothesis Gods revealing themselves to lesser creatures, who aren't mentally and spiritually prepared, would cause them to go mad.

In this four part exposé, we will explore this concept and hopefully share some insight you may have not been aware of.

One aspect of Germanic ancestral faith that is often overlooked is the Disir. They are feminine spirits which look over you and the family. The famed Ragnar Lodbrok's last words recorded in Krákumál state, "the dísir invite me home!" There is a designated holy-day for them known as Disablot which is held in the Yuletide season. It is mentioned in numerous sources such as: Hervarar saga ok Heiðreks konungs, Viga Glums saga, Egils saga and even Heimskringla. What this also shows is that Germanic ancestral faith had a deep reverence toward the feminine.

There's an accusation from pie guys that, quote, "our oldest ancestors were so fundamentally patriarchal that they probably didn't conceptualize of women as unique personable entities." This is objectively false and is a major reason why our revival has had problems; driving womenfolk away preventing families and tribes forming. You cannot be Pagan or Folkish if you look down on half of the Folk.

Let us hail the beatiful Disir, feminine spirits which guide us!

This is a historical depicion of Thor fishing for Jormangandr from the Altuna Runestone in Uppland, Sweden made in the 1,000s. Some people judge this depiction for being child-like but it may have been an intentional choice by the runemaster. The stone was erected in remembrance of a father and son who tragically died in a fire. The inscription says:

Véfastr, Folkaðr, Guðvarr had the stone raised in memory of their father Holmfastr, (and) Arnfastr.
Both father and son were burned, and Balli Freysteinn, of Lífsteinn's retinue, carved (this).

It's reminiscent of a quote from the Havamal, "A son is a blessing, though born late to a father no longer alive: stones would seldom stand by the highway if sons did not set them there." - Odin - Havamal - 72

Let this stone depicting blessed Thor and Odin's words guide you to remember our ancestors, to focus on the family and give honor and glory to our Gods who watch over and guide us.

There is nothing more ancestral and timeless than forming a family.

According to this article our folk have been exclusively monogamous for at least 7,000 years. We know now, as an undisputed fact, that monogamous marriages lead to the healthiest and most successful families.

Our Gods formed the first marriages and gave this institution to our ancient ancestors. Where men and women come together to form new life and rebirth.

It is a historical fact that Paganism was the founder of the family-unit and established the institution of marriage.

Let’s talk calendars. We have as a community developed research and concepts that help us to reconstruct a fully heathen calendar. Some camps choose to follow a lunisolar system, while others focus on the Misseri calendar that is based on the earlier weekly system. Both of these are perfectly valid, and both have been described by scholars as having ancient origins. These calendars are useful in helping us to understand precisely when we are to perform the holy Veizlas or festivals. With them we can calculate the correlation between our months, the celestial bodies, and our sacred events.

But what about the years? Did our ancestors have a way of calculating the years as they passed? Indeed they did, but this method has been overlooked because they have been making comparisons to the Gregorian Calendar and looking for fixed points by which such a calculation can be made. However, not all yearly systems are built upon fixed points. Others are calculated by cycles, and given the polytheist view on cyclical time it would only seem fitting that our ancestors maintained this.

The Chinese calendar is built upon a 60-year cycle, combining the following elements:

Ten Heavenly Stems (e.g., Jia, Yi, Bing, etc.).
Twelve Earthly Branches (associated with the Chinese zodiac animals, e.g., Rat, Ox, Tiger).
• Each year is named by pairing a stem and branch (e.g., 2025 is Yisi, the Year of the Snake). The cycle repeats every 60 years.

The ancient Germanic calendar was cyclical as well, based on what is called The Metonic Cycle. The Runic calendar, as exemplified by the Nyköping staff from the 13th century, is a perpetual calendar based on the 19-year Metonic cycle, which correlates lunar and solar cycles. Each year in this cycle is associated with one of 19 “Golden Numbers,” represented by runes or symbols. The first 16 years typically use the runes of the Younger Futhark, while the remaining three years (17–19) are assigned special runes created for the calendar. To determine the rune for the current year, the following equation is utilized:

Golden number= [(year/mod 19+1)]

Where \(\mod\) is the modulo operation (remainder after division).

2025 \div 19 = 106 \text{ remainder } 11 \quad \text{(since } 19 \times 106 = 2014, \text{ and } 2025 - 2014 = 11\text{)}

2025 divided by 19= 106/ remainder 11
Since 19x106‎ = 2,014 + 11= 2025

Golden Number= 11+1=12.

For Golden Number 12, the corresponding rune is ᛏ (týr). Thus, 2025 corresponds to Golden Number 12 in the Metonic cycle and is the Year of Týr.

The Runic calendar uses the 16 runes of the Younger Futhark for Golden Numbers 1–16, and three additional special runes for Golden Numbers 17–19.
• The Younger Futhark runes, in standard order, are:
1. ᚠ (fé)
2. ᚢ (úr)
3. ᚦ (þurs)
4. ᚬ (óss)
5. ᚱ (reið)
6. ᚴ (kaun)
7. ᚼ (hagl)
8. ᚾ (nauð)
9. ᛁ (íss)
10. ᛅ (ár)
11. ᛋ (sól)
12. ᛏ (týr)
13. ᛒ (bjarkan)
14. ᛘ (maðr)
15. ᛚ (lögr)
16. ᛦ (ýr)
The additional runes are (17-19), and were made specifically for the calendar. These were Árlaug (combining the runes Ár and Lögr), Tvímaðr (Two-men), and Belgþor (Bellows-Þórr?). These special runes were documented by Ole Worm in 1636 in his work Runir seu Danica literatura antiquissima, though their use dates back to at least the 13th century with the Nyköping staff. Later calendars (e.g., 1498 Breviarium Scarense) replaced runes with Latin letters and Arabic numerals for weekdays and Golden Numbers, respectively.

The Nyköping staff, believed to date from the 13th century, is the oldest known Runic calendar and uses this system. It marks days with runes from the Younger Futhark and additional symbols for the Golden Numbers to track the lunar cycle within the 19-year Metonic cycle. Therefore, we can use these staffs to mark the years and reconstruct the Metonic Cycle in our yearly calendars. Not based upon fixed dates, but upon the cycles of nature and the movement of celestial bodies.

The calendar staffs are very late and are believed to contain a mix of heathen and Christian elements.

Mimicry, unlike regular camouflage, makes an organism bled into a crowd as opposed to just the background.
Agressive mimicry is using this in-group camouflage to infiltrate to either steal food or to hunt undetected.

Humans too have this, where one group will look and act like another to blend into the host population. Psychopaths for example are known to mimic emotions because they dont have any.

Aggressive mimicry also affects ancestral faith as well. What we call "fake pagans" are just those who wish to infiltrate ancestral faith revival for a myriad of reasons. Their strategy only works when one plays fast-and-loose with in-group qualifications. The danger is "purity spiraling," which is real, but without having boundaries, fake pagans slip in and act as "my fellow pagans."

In Germanic ancestral faith, a Jotun disguised himself to infiltrate into Asgard to build the walls around the devine city. It's a cautionary tale that's timeless and a lesson we should keep in mind now and into the future.

👀 America's first president, George Washington, was a direct descendant of Odin.

Though the records are obviously euhemerized by christian revisionists, many Germanic noble lines claim direct paternal descent from the high Æsir God Odin himself. This fact reveals two things:

1. That even post-christianization, divine ancestry and lineage remained important to kingship and nobility, imparting a demigod status.

2. That later revisionists couldn't deny descent from Odin and so resorted to euhemerism (gods are just men bro) to downplay the reality of the existence of the native Gods of Europeans.

The Pagan past is closer to us than we realize, mainly because it flows in your veins
