Simple Remedy at Hand for Common Problem
Wu et al, used the TriNetX research network of COVID-19 patients between January 1 and November 30, 2022. Patients were matched using propensity score matching (PSM) and divided into VDD (< 20 ng/mL) and control (≥ 20 ng/mL) groups. The primary outcome was a composite of long-COVID, all-cause emergency department (ED) visits, hospitalization, and death during the follow-up period (90-180 days) after the diagnosis of COVID-19.

RSV Vaccination Unpopular Among Adults in First Marketing Season
Nationwide Survey Shows Little Enthusiasm for Previously Unconcerning Infection.
Each year the general adult population has ~4 viral upper respiratory tract infections. The variety of infections are indistinguishable from each other including rhinovirus, paramyxovirus, influenza, or respiratory syncytial virus. For that very reason, doctors treat healthy adult patients with empiric approaches including antihistamines, decongestants, bronchodilators, and antibiotics to cover secondary infections. For these cases, diagnostic testing is typically not performed.
I have never ordered an RSV rapid antigen or PCR test in my career as an adult medicine specialist. So my patients, like many others have never had a test or a clinical diagnosis of RSV. You can imagine how difficult it is for the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex to gin up enough fear and concern to move the adult market on RSV vaccination (GSK, Pfizer, Moderna).
