Dr. Mohammed Abu Selmia, a Palestinian pediatrician and hospital director in Gaza, described the severe medical crisis inside the Strip’s hospitals, where doctors are left powerless as patients suffer from a critical shortage of medicines and medical supplies.

He said intensive care units lack essential equipment for children, premature babies are dying without life-saving medications, dialysis patients wait for unavailable drugs, and surgeries are halted because sterilized supplies and surgical tools have run out.

Abu Selmia warned that hospital warehouses are nearly empty, calling it one of the worst periods medical teams have faced, and urged the immediate entry of medicines and medical consumables to prevent further loss of life.

A report by the British newspaper Guardian revealed that United States companies, some of them linked to the administration of former President Donald Trump, are racing to secure contracts for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip amid the widespread destruction left by the recent war.

The report noted that political and economic actors close to decision making circles in the United States are involved in discussions and preliminary plans related to these contracts, while some contractors have expressed concern about participating due to the ethical and political implications for their reputations.

The plan has drawn widespread criticism, with observers describing it as a commercial exploitation of a process that should be primarily humanitarian, warning that profit driven motives could take precedence over meeting the basic needs of Gaza residents.

Axios reports that the White House sent a sharp private message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying Israel violated the Gaza ceasefire by carrying out a strike that killed a senior Hamas commander.

According to U.S. officials, Washington was not notified in advance and viewed the attack as a breach of the agreement brokered by President Trump, warning Netanyahu not to undermine the deal or damage U.S. credibility.

The report says tensions are growing between the Trump administration and Netanyahu over Gaza, the West Bank, and regional policies, as the White House pushes to move forward with the next phase of the ceasefire and broader regional normalization efforts.

Former US vice president Kamala Harris revealed, in her new memoir titled 107 Days, sensitive details about how President Joe Biden administration handled the war on Gaza, alongside behind the scenes accounts of her brief presidential campaign following Biden withdrawal from the 2024 race.

In the book, Harris presents clear criticism of the US administration approach, arguing that Biden statements on Palestinian suffering were weak and insufficient compared to the scale of political and military support Washington provided to Israel.

The memoir also exposes complex internal calculations in selecting campaign partners, the exclusion of certain figures due to their positions on Israel, and indirect signals of future political ambitions that could extend to the 2028 presidential election.
