The United States is reportedly planning to establish a large military base in the Gaza Strip for use by international forces tasked with maintaining the ceasefire, according to Israeli reports.
The base is expected to accommodate thousands of troops, with construction costs estimated at around half a billion dollars, Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reports.

UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini warns that Gaza’s recovery depends on unrestricted humanitarian access, the rebuilding of Palestinian institutions, and a credible political path toward justice and peace.

B’Tselem documented testimonies from 55 Palestinians who were held and released, most without any charges.
Their accounts reveal how Israel rapidly transformed more than a dozen army and civilian prison facilities into a network of detention centers designed to inflict suffering.
In these facilities, every detainee is deliberately subjected to relentless pain and abuse, effectively turning them into torture camps.
Israeli occupation forces detonated several residential buildings in the eastern Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, violating the ceasefire.
Israel continues to target civilian areas despite the truce.
In the Palestinian documentary film produced in 1977, a Palestinian woman testified that the entire Palestinian people were being subjected to genocide by the Israeli army, which deliberately targeted women, children, and men. She also said that dozens of people were missing.
Today, 48 years later, Israel continues to follow the same systematic policy. Whether in the occupied West Bank or the Gaza Strip, Palestinians are being subjected to war crimes.
In Gaza, after two hellish years of aggression, over 10,000 people remain missing, most of them children, women, and the elderly, trapped beneath the rubble of their homes, used as human shields, or forcibly disappeared into prisons with no information about their fate.

The Israeli Knesset approved a bill to make permanent the so-called "Al Jazeera Law," which would allow the army to shut down foreign media outlets without prior judicial authorization, according to Haaretz.
The bill, proposed by Likud lawmaker Ariel Kallner, would allow Israel to permanently close foreign media outlets, regardless of whether the country is in a state of emergency or at war.
Previously, in April 2024, the Knesset passed a law giving the prime minister and communications minister the authority to ban foreign media considered to “harm Israel’s security.”
