Long serving Palestinian detainee Abbas Al-Sayyed was recently subjected to brutal physical abuse while being held in solitary confinement at the Israeli Megiddo prison, according to the Prisoners Media Office.

The office said the 59-year-old, who is serving multiple life sentences in prison, is being held in harsh and inhumane conditions, and that legal testimonies revealed clear signs of severe mistreatment, including visible bruising, blue marks, and extreme weight loss.

It added that Al-Sayyed was dragged in handcuffs in a degrading manner to the visitation room and was severely beaten by prison guards during court transfers, when taken out of isolation, and while held in waiting rooms.
