The concept of cycles is becoming accepted in Western culture. Recently, people have been focusing on what they deem the 80-year cyclical theory, which marks a significant shift in humanity. While this may be true, as it takes a few generations to change society, they are not incorporating the additional nuisances associated with the true Economic Confidence Model.
The 80-year theory, also known as the Strauss–Howe generational theory, posits that there are four 20-year cycles or turnings that culminate in a cataclysmic event. For example, some are using 2024 as the starting point, which brings us back to 1944 when America was at the cusp of World War II. Going back an additional 80 years would bring us to 1864, the year of the US Civil War. Taking it back even further, we arrive at 1784 when the Revolutionary War ended.

The U.S. military is sending 200 Marines to Florida to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with behind-the-scenes work, like paperwork and logistics. This move, announced Thursday, is the first step in a bigger plan by U.S. Northern Command to support ICE’s mission. It’s part of President Trump’s push to crack down on illegal immigration and speed up deportations across the country.
The Marines won’t be dealing with detainees or doing any law enforcement tasks. “Service members will perform strictly non-law enforcement duties within ICE facilities,” USNORTHCOM said in a statement. That means they’ll stick to things like organizing supplies or handling administrative tasks, and they’re explicitly barred from any direct contact with people in ICE custody. This keeps the military’s role limited to support, not enforcement.
Last month, the Pentagon gave the green light to send up to 700 Department of Defense personnel to help ICE in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas. The 200 Marines in Florida are just the start…

The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to decide whether states may ban transgender students from playing on sports teams that align with their gender identity, revisiting the issue of LGBTQ rights in a blockbuster case just days after upholding a ban on some health care for trans youth.
The decision puts the issue of transgender rights on the Supreme Court’s docket for the second year in a row and is by far the most significant matter the justices have agreed to hear in the term that will begin in October.
In a significant loss for transgender advocates, a 6-3 majority of the Supreme Court ruled on June 18 that Tennessee could bar trans youth from accessing puberty blockers and hormone therapy. Though the state’s law also bars surgeries, they were not at issue in the high court’s case.
The court is likely to decide the case by early next summer.

I watched this happen on my way back from getting coffee this morning. One second later and the car that hit this Mini head on would have hit my car instead.
The driver had no seatbelt on and no warning. Car was smoking when I got to it. Scary moment.
When he regained consciousness he couldn’t remember his name or his age.
I’ve never been big on seatbelt laws, but if he had been wearing one he wouldn’t have smashed his melon into the windshield.
Don’t wear your seatbelt because the law says you have to. Wear it because somebody loves you.
