🔥A Washington Post report says the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a group working to simplify federal rules, is joining forces with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to get rid of more than 50 gun regulations by July 4, 2025. Insiders told the Post the plan started with 47 rules—a wink at President Donald Trump being the 47th president—but it’s grown bigger since.
Robert Leider, the ATF’s new top lawyer and a big Second Amendment supporter, is leading the charge, taking over after the old lawyer’s job was made a political gig. Justice Department spokesman Chad Gilmartin told the Post, “ATF is focused on cutting red tape that hassles law-abiding gun owners and making sure agents go after criminals and gangs, not bothering folks at home in the middle of the night.”
One big change is shrinking the Form 4473, the paperwork you fill out to buy a gun. It’s seven pages now but could drop to three, with questions about mental health, military history, or drug use rolled into one yes-or-no box. The felony question will stay separate.

🔥The Defense Department has confirmed the establishment of two new military zones along the U.S.-Mexico border, strengthening the Trump administration's comprehensive approach to securing America's southern frontier against illegal immigration.
The Pentagon is creating one designated area along Arizona's border that will become part of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, extending over 100 miles. A second zone in southern Texas will become part of Joint Base San Antonio, covering approximately 250 miles of the Rio Grande River.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized the Air Force and Navy secretaries "to take necessary action to establish National Defense Areas along the U.S.-Mexico border." These zones grant enhanced military authority to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President Trump plans to limit sending classified information to Congress after an intel assessment of the Iran bombing damage was leaked, according to a news report Thursday.
Media outlets reported Tuesday that the Defense Intelligence Agency assessed that the U.S. strikes that hit Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday had only set back Iran's nuclear program by a few months and that Iran had moved much of its enriched uranium before the strikes.
Trump and his administration repeatedly downplayed the leaked intelligence report on Wednesday. And on Thursday morning, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced since-released reports, including one from the CIA that stated Iran's nuclear program has been "severely damaged."
