Iβm working on a new product and thought Iβd share a little something on tariffs.
The product includes electronics and common textiles. Both are available from US suppliers and from other countries. China, of course, is the easiest extra-domestic marketplace to shop.
Iβm adding up the material costs, trying to source from the US as much as possible.
Although US prices are higher for many of the components, the 55% tariff plus freight from a gozillion miles away levels the playing field. Even at a 30% premium I have a lower landed cost on US sourced materials.
Materials from the US also tend to be better quality and there is someone I can consult with and hold accountable if there is a quality issue. Lead times on delivery are shorter too.
Itβs very easy, almost childβs play, to just boot up Alibabaβs snazzy AI search tool and find everything I need. Itβs a little more cumbersome shopping at home. But because of Trump tariffs I have an opportunity to do the Patriotic thing without driving the cost of the product up too high for the market.
This is how tariffs bring manufacturing back to the good βol US of A.
This is the reality for families that have a member affected by severe mental illness like schizophrenia. They want the option to have their family member taken off the streets and put into mental health treatment. Our hands are tied with our adult children with severe mental illnesses. They are adults, we can't force them to do anything.
With schizophrenia, there is a condition called anosognosia which affect 50-75% of the patients. Their brains can't see that they are ill, much like dementia patients. The frontal lobe is shattered. They have the right as adults to refuse treatment and medication. Parents are left helpless.
Thank you President Trump for reopening mental institutions. We currently only have 36k beds in mental hospitals in the entire USA. We need so many more than that.
Considering all the top politicians are narcissists, imagine how they will flip on each other. Think about how this relates to people like Hillary and her kill listπ€
