The intelligence community assessment (ICA) had not even been completed and was still being debated and drafted.

BLOOMBERG: Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller is emerging as a top candidate to serve as the central bankβs chair among President Donald Trumpβs advisers as they look for a replacement for Jerome Powell, according to people familiar with the matter.
Trump advisers are impressed with Wallerβs willingness to move on policy based on forecasting, rather than current data, and his deep knowledge of the Fed system as a whole, the people said. Waller has met with the presidentβs team about the role, but has yet to meet with Trump himself, the people said on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.
Kevin Warsh, a former Fed official, and Kevin Hassett, currently Trumpβs National Economic Council director, also remain in contention for the job, the people said, which will open up when Powellβs tenure as chair expires in May 2026.

The US Army sergeant accused of opening fire on fellow soldiers at Georgiaβs Fort Stewart base reportedly sent an ominous text to a relative right before the shooting β warning that heβd be in a βbetter placeβ soon.
Sgt. Quornelius Radford, 28, is accused of shooting five soldiers at the Army base Wednesday before he was quickly tackled by other troops, officials said.
In the lead up to the violence, Radford had apparently fired off a text to an aunt saying that βhe loved everybody and that heβll be in a better place because he was about to go and do something,β The New York Times reported.
Authorities are still probing a motive for the shooting and refused to speculate on what could have triggered Radford β an active-duty sergeant specializing in automated logistics.
His father, Eddie Radford, told the Times that the sergeant had recently been trying to get a transfer and had complained to his family in the past of racism at the base where heβd been stationed for years.
He added that his son didnβt have a history of serious mental illness but had struggled in the past with depression after his mom died when he was a child.

President Trump on Thursday demanded Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan resign, following concerns about his reported ties to Chinese companies.
Tan is in the middle of trying to turn Intel around at a time when the government is pushing to bolster the U.S. chip industry.
"The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem," Trump posted on Truth Social.
The demand comes one day after Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) sent a letter to Intel's board raising concerns about Tan's ties to Chinese companies with links to the Community Party and the Chinese military.
