The FDA said Friday it is examining the rare deaths of 25 young people after they received their Pfizer or Moderna Covid vaccines and is seeking data on the safety of the shots for pregnant women.
According to anonymous sources close to the situation, health officials under the Trump administration plan to include claims about pediatric deaths in a presentation next week to a panel of CDC advisors that is currently evaluating Covid vaccine recommendations.
Four anonymous sources who spoke to The Washington Post on the condition of anonymity said the findings appear to be based on information submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a voluntary database for reporting vaccine side effects.
Patients, doctors, pharmacists and people who see a report on social media are all able to submit a VAERS report and they are unverified.

Suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, threatened to commit suicide rather than surrender to the police after he was confronted by his father over the fatal shooting of Kirk at Utah Valley University, according to a report from the New York Post.
The father of Robinson recognized his son from the photos that were released by the FBI on Thursday, leading to him confronting his son about the assassination of Kirk when he returned to his home, sources familiar with the matter told the outlet.
Robinson "fessed up to the horrific shooting when his dad asked if he pulled the trigger β but originally refused to turn himself in to law enforcement," one of the sources said of the suspect. Robinson said that he would rather kill himself than turn himself in to the police.

To me, it wasnβt about what Charlie Kirk stood for, it was about how he stood for it.
Charlie was a rare example of someone who could stay calm and rational in debate without dehumanizing his opponents. He was often met with snarky, combative, or vitriolic energy, yet he never mirrored it. That takes real discipline. Even when faced with harsh criticism or hostility, he remained composed and respectful. I had never seen him engage in ad hominem, dehumanizing, or name calling. He maintained his dignity while extending dignity to others, even to those who offered him none.
That was Charlieβs superpower.
Lately Iβve seen a lot of conversation about who might βfill his shoes.β Sadly, I donβt see anyone quite like him yet that already exists in this space. I see too many fragile egos, people who will insult your mother or tell you to βgfyβ if you push back on them even slightly. Humility seems to be hard to come by. And while some are now praising him, itβs hard to forget how they didnβt just βnot always agree with him,β they trashed Charlie with personal attacks and petty name calling while he was alive. I believe much of it stemmed from jealousy, knowing deep down they could never actually do what Charlie was doing. Instead of seeing him as the incredible asset he was to the mission of truth, they picked him apart.
What Charlie accomplished was no small thing, he was reaching massive amounts of young people and inspiring them to question the mainstream narratives theyβd been force-fed all their lives. He was getting a demographic still heavily concerned with βfitting inβ to step outside the status quo. Thatβs much more difficult than preaching to an older audience who already agrees with you. Whatβs lacking in his absence isnβt just another strong voice, but a leader who could genuinely engage, inspire, open and change minds, and guide the next generation beyond the safety of their echo chambers.
Thereβs no doubt that Charlie left a void, one that many feel called to now help fill. I hope as we attempt to fill it, weβll remember that his legacy was not just defined by what he fought for, but how he fought for it. And I hope that we will borrow from his methods of human dignity, grace, and the restraint that allows true dialogue to take root. If we can somehow carry that forward, the impact he made will continue to ripple far beyond his tragically short time here.
