We should ask ourselves if we are holding someone accountable or trying to cancel them.
For example: Reporting someoneβs bad driving in a company vehicle or going to management about an employee failing to do their job is holding people accountable. Reporting a persons illegal activity or unethical, morally reprehensible public comments to their employer is holding them accountable.
But harassing that person or their employer, doxxing them, seeking to upend their lives or otherwise cause trouble for them is wrong.
The focus should be accountability, not revenge.

None of us is immune to calling for justice, sometimes with millstones and trebuchets. Never mind that we know evil when we see it and want it removed. The brainwashing of the other side is deep and many think we are the evil to eradicate.
It has to stop sometime. At some point we have to recognize that the other side has been drawn in and turned to champion darkness.
