Americans should be asking why we even need a Federal Reserve any longer.

WHY?
People have wisely asked what the potential ramifications of The Charlie Kirk Act might be when/if it outlaws propaganda again.
There's a couple layers of answers to that.
1) Banning the GOVERNMENT from spending tax money making psyop materials they know to be false, and colluding with U.S. media to disseminate it, is not the same as regulating speech in general.
2) If there is a direct media accountability component, then any benefit of the doubt must always err on the side of allowing speech. Believe me, they will find a way to push the envelope of what is permitted. Only in the case where the media used objectively provably false information, should they face consequences. However, there where 1,000s of instances of that so far in Trump's campaigns and Presidential terms. Certain things like the "very fine people hoax" that do not fall under "opinion". At present they can and do manufacture influence material that is objectively false.
NEVERTHELESS, we should be VERY skeptical of ANY power the government is given to regulate anything. It will be very important to carefully tear apart the language of any such bill as soon as it is available, and push back HARD if it contains powers that can be misused.

Iβm not sure who needs to hear this but Jimmy Kimmel got on the air and falsely stated as a fact that Charlie Kirkβs killer was MAGA, smearing an entire movement and Trump in particular with a vile disgusting lie - and at a time when the threat against those on the right is at an all-time high.
This was *after* we knew from the UT gov that the killer had been indoctrinated into LEFT-wing ideology, *after* weβd seen the shooterβs bullet casings reflecting furry/trans memes, calling Charlie a fascist and w/anti-fascist lyrics. It was *after* we had learned the shooter was living with his trans-furry boyfriend and believed Charlie Kirk was βfull of hate.β *After* we learned that the shooter was not registered GOP, but βunaffiliated.β *After* we saw him pull the trigger just as Charlie discussed trans killers. There was zero - ZERO - evidence the shooter was MAGA, had ever been MAGA, or was influenced by MAGA in any way.
This was an intentional lie to GIN UP HATRED toward the very group of ppl most suffering in the wake of our devastating loss of Charlie and Kimmel did it willfully and even gleefully to a cheering complicit audience.

Iβm unsure of what Kimmel said outside of assuming the shooter was MAGA, but if thatβs the basis of their decision to take him off air, regardless of if I disagree with him 99% of the time, Iβm wholeheartedly against this decision to silence him and believe it to be a dangerous precedent being set. Let his #βs speak for themselves vs. a complete removal.
If Iβm missing context, Iβll definitely need to look more into it as nuances exist in every situation. As for now, Iβm feeling slightly uneasy with the direction things are heading and hoping thereβs more to this story I might be missing. Until then, our first amendment right is precious and we have to ferociously protect it. After all, freedom of speech applies to all of us, even the village idiot.
EDIT: I spoke to a good friend and he mentioned it could be where Kimmel had a chance to correct his previous statements and he chose not to. As a business deciding to protect its brand, thatβs absolutely fair and even warranted to let him go as itβs clear both parties no longer align.
