Liquidity, Specifically Exchange liquidity( market makers) is based on liquidity pairs. The primary liquidity pair in the entire crypto universe is BTC as it relates to Market makers.
Whether independent blockchains or not, BTC pairs, although mitigated since the advent of stablecoins, are the liquidity that controls MM’s.
