Makes perfect sense if one (or more) admin(s) does this behind the back of other admins.
The whole point of this scheme is to take advantage of the trust people build towards the real group and the people in there, which are imitated in the fake group and helps to trick some people.
I'm sure the scam success rate is much higher this way than the old way of just adding random people to a fake groups.

There is no conspiracy here just too many things happen in order that make no sense if it isn't somehow deliberately done. As I said before, I'm open to better explanations, but as you can see, all I get is ridiculed, which would not be necessary if you could actually explain why an admin would do that.

You told me I need to ask the admin (who isn't even in here) why they secretly banned me without reason and wiped all evidence I was ever in the group so no one, not even the other admins, can understand what happened and why.
You really think that is resolving anything?
What's the expected outcome here? That the person who went out of their way to hide why they banned me from you and from all other admins, will just fix this when I ask them? You haven't thought this true, have you?
That specific admin is the issue they clearly aren't going to fix it after they intentionally caused this.
It's also been like nearly a year, so why would anyone even remember?
When I first asked for help here, admins could probably see the logs still, but after a while everything was gone.

The scheme obviously only works if there is an admin in the "real" group that does ban the targeted user. It has to be done at a random time when the user isn't active so that when they come back online, there is only one group, which is the scam group.
And since not all admins are in on this, it has to be hidden from them too.
And that is exactly how it played out. No warning/ban message/bot log(?) + all past messages, which for my account had to be several hundred, got wiped.
I've been in the group for years (mostly reading often offline for weeks), but this is not how admins deal with long-term users who may have stretched the rules a bit too much. And I know I didn't do that because I was not online or active for several days when this happened.
In fact, I spotted the group as fake before opening specifically because it only had a couple of unread messages.
You don't have to trust me on these things either. Catman already confirmed he cannot see why I was banned. And if you go in the XRP main group and search my username, you find someone who tagged me in a conversation, but my messages are gone.
Is it just a coincidence that these things all happened? I don't think so.
And yes, I heard from a bunch of people who had similar scam attempts. Ever since Telegram stopped the mass adding of people, these more targeted scams have become popular.

The admin(s) will never use their admin account to do the scam itself, of course.
I described how the trick works before, but essentially they targeted people, removed them from the "real" group, and trick them into accepting a fake group. In the fake groups where the scam plays out, the accounts are imitating the admins they aren't using their "real" account, obviously.
