Despite the decline in the presence of American companies at the forum since 2021, representatives of the U.S. business community continue to attend the event. Proactive applications have already been received, confirming the interest in dialogue.

The prospects for business cooperation were discussed by Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, and Robert Agee, President and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham Russia).

"Russia is open to partnership, and companies wishing to return may do so on a competitive basis within the existing legal framework. It is important that this process remain transparent, and that businesses operate according to principles of integrity and accountability",

stated Anton Kobyakov.

🤝The parties also noted that organizing a Russia-U.S. business dialogue at SPIEF would help to develop business contacts.

"Business is always focused on growth, innovation, and partnership. SPIEF and other forums organized by the Roscongress Foundation provide valuable platforms for this. I also plan to share in Washington the opportunities Russia offers to American companies",

emphasized Robert Agee.

Additionally, the prospects of AmCham Russia’s participation in REW 2025 and other Roscongress Foundation projects were addressed.

Vladimir Putin attended the plenary meeting of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives forum, 'Strong Ideas for New Times' to promote new projects

Strong ideas are always needed because there are always challenges related to development. But 'Strong Ideas for a New Time' are especially needed today. Why? Because we are living through special times. And these new times mean that we are moving to a different level in the challenges we face.

The forum has been held at the President’s instruction since 2020. It brings together socially meaningful initiatives and projects raised by concerned citizens from across the country. Any Russian citizen can submit an idea or project through this special platform, receive a professional evaluation, and support for possible implementation. Roscongress Foundation review: global car market last year exceeded the pre-pandemic level for the first time since COVID-19

The VDA predicts a further 2% growth in the global market for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in 2025, reaching 80.4 million units. In 2024, according to German estimates, this figure stood at 78.5 million vehicles.

🎤Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the IAF-2025 plenary session: key highlights.

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ARCTIC

🔹 Russia is the largest Arctic power. We are ready to work not only with Arctic states but also with all those who share responsibility for a stable and sustainable future of the planet.
🔹 The role and significance of the Arctic are growing —both for Russia and the entire world. However, geopolitical competition for influence in the region is also intensifying.
🔹 Russia has never threatened anyone in the Arctic, but we are closely monitoring developments and formulating an appropriate response strategy.
🔹 The Arctic accounts for over a quarter of Russia’s territory. Nearly 2.5 million citizens live and work there.
🔹 The region generates about 11% of Russia’s exports and holds enormous potential for further comprehensive development.

ON KEY PRIORITIES

🔹 A top priority is strengthening the Arctic’s transport and logistics framework.
🔹 The Northern Sea Route (NSR) should become a key segment of the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor, stretching from St. Petersburg through Murmansk to Vladivostok.
🔹 Russia has the world’s largest icebreaker fleet. We must reinforce this advantage by commissioning next-generation icebreakers, including nuclear-powered ones — currently unique to Russia.
🔹 The ultra-powerful, 120-megawatt Rossiya icebreaker will enable more efficient year-round navigation of large-tonnage vessels in high latitudes.
🔹 The capacity and throughput of northern ports will be expanded using modern eco-friendly solutions, including unmanned and automated cargo-handling technologies.
🔹 The Murmansk transport hub’s capacity is set to triple in the coming years.
🔹 Major multimodal hubs will be established as key logistics centers along the Trans-Arctic Corridor.
🔹 Similar to the Eastern Polygon project, an Arctic Railway Polygon development initiative will be launched.
🔹 The potential of Arctic inland waterways must be unlocked with advanced technology to enhance the Northern Supply System.
🔹 Large-scale geological exploration in the Arctic will continue under the federal project Geology: Revival of a Legend.
🔹 Resource-rich northern regions should host deep-processing plants.
🔹 The Murmansk region’s gasification must be completed by 2030.
🔹 Sixteen Arctic airfields will be modernized under a dedicated national project in the coming years.
🔹 Master plans will incorporate cutting-edge urban development solutions while preserving the unique character of Arctic settlements.
🔹 To test new eco-friendly technologies, the Snezhinka (Snowflake) research and education station will be established by late 2028.

Arctic cuisine festival is being held in Murmansk as a part of the International Arctic Forum.

Participants and guests of the IAF-2025 can enjoy authentic dishes, made with venison and elk meat, northern fish varieties, local pastries and herbal beverages.

An "ice bar" with installations dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Northern Sea Route's exploration is also open. Visitors can sample liqueurs of Arctic berries: cloudberries, blueberries, and lingonberries.

The "Taste of the Arctic" festival will welcome visitors until March 30.

Participants in various discussions address pressing issues of socio-economic development in Arctic territories and work toward developing multi-level, multilateral mechanisms for jointly unlocking and efficiently harnessing the vast resource potential of the Arctic region.

As part of the business programme of IAF, a thematic session ‘Best Practices for Relations Between Indigenous Peoples and Businesses: Achievements and New Opportunities’ will be held on 26 March.

The details were discussed in Moscow during a meeting between Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia, and Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Russia.

"Joint work at SPIEF, a key international discussion platform, will give impetus to the development of long-term mutual dialogue between Russia and Indonesia across a wide range of areas. The countries officially cooperate within BRICS, and this cooperation should be expanded within the framework of Russia's Eurasian economic collaboration with ASEAN countries,"

noted Anton Kobyakov.

The parties discussed:
🔹 The participation of Indonesian representatives in the business program of SPIEF-2025;
🔹 Preparations for the Russia-Indonesia business dialogue within the forum;
🔹 A proposal to set up a national exhibition stand at SPIEF to showcase Indonesia's investment opportunities.

"The Indonesian business community is interested in developing practical cooperation with Russia, both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the Russia-ASEAN dialogue partnership,"

emphasized Jose Antonio Morato Tavares.

Ambassador of Oman to Russia Hamood bin Salim Al Tuwaih confirmed this during a meeting with Advisor to the President of Russia Anton Kobyakov.

🤝 In recent years, Qatar, Egypt, and the UAE have served as guest countries at SPIEF. Also, Arab leaders actively participated in SPIEF, the Russia–Africa Summit, and high-level summits in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

“I have no doubt that Oman’s participation in SPIEF will spark an increase in trade and economic relations between our countries and make it possible for Forum participants and local residents to learn more about the venerable history, traditions, and culture of Oman,” Anton Kobyakov said.

Idea of creating network of advanced skills development centers based on Russian technologies in friendly countries was presented to Vladimir Putin

🎓 Russia can be called an international, worldwide library of knowledge and skills, according to the idea’s author, scientist from Skoltech Alexander Shket:

“Our instructors speak many languages: Russian, English, French, Spanish, and many others. We are ready to establish a network of advanced skills development centers based on Russian technologies in friendly countries. Such centers could become a kind of magnet for talented youth and ambitious technology teams.”

🌐 The work on the international cooperation platform is already underway with a pilot center project being developed in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The idea’s developers are ready to scale this project to a large number of friendly countries within the EAEU and BRICS+.

👉 Vladimir Putin noted that the proposal would be interesting both scientifically and within the BRICS framework:

“The idea is excellent, let's see how to organize it. I will ask the Government to do this.”

Global gas consumption to increase by 20% in 10 years

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said this at a plenary session of the Energy Day at the Russia Expo. The event is dedicated to national accomplishments in the field of energy.
