✉️ On October 14, President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 9th Russian Energy Week International Forum.

✍️ The message reads, in part:

In keeping with the established tradition, representatives of government authorities, leading companies and the scientific and expert communities from Russia and abroad will discuss the current state and prospects for the development of global energy.

They will also advance modern approaches to enhancing the infrastructure of the fuel and energy sector, as well as promoting the widespread introduction of advanced equipment and technologies into production processes.

The key themes of the Forum’s business agenda this year focus on new energy and fundamental changes in the oil and gas markets amid geopolitical challenges. Significant attention will also be paid to the crucial issue of training qualified personnel for the sector. The growth of national economies and the enhancement of people’s quality of life depend to a large extent on the successful fulfilment of these tasks.

In today’s world, the expansion of international dialogue and cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, including ensuring the safety of logistics routes, takes on particular importance. We trust that discussions on the key issues of this meeting will continue at the 8th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, which will be held in Moscow at the end of October this year.

I am confident that the substantive programme of Russian Energy Week will facilitate a comprehensive analysis of developments in the energy industry, and that the proposals and initiatives put forward will find practical application.

💬 We have been witnessing what looks like a well-organised campaign in the Australian media against the Russia-US arrangement on diesel sales. The media and various experts portray the neo-Nazi Kiev regime as a “dove of peace”, seeking de-escalation and a diplomatic settlement – and hence, in the Western logic, in need of more weapons and military assistance. <…>
 
☝️ For when we call it neo-Nazi, it is not a figure of speech. It was this particular type of extremists who came to power in Kiev following the violent coup d’état in 2014. The regime started spreading Nazi ideology, destroying everything Russian, killing thousands of Russians in Donbass, in the war which lasted eight years, until the special military operation began.

On 25 June, the regime announced that it would “bring Russia to its knees” and began attacking our civilian facilities – oil refineries, marketplace warehouses and others. <…> This serves no conceivable military purpose but fits perfectly into the logic of barbaric brutality and the campaign of terror unleashed and pursued by Zelensky.
 
On 20 September – the day Russia was holding parliamentary elections – the regime launched massive drone and missile attacks against Moscow and other cities, targeting polling stations and electoral commissions, killing some of their members. This is the way the Kiev Nazis fight for democracy.
 
<…> When we talk about Kiev’s lies, the case of faking events in the town of Bucha comes to mind. This is the place from which a BBC film crew streamed a story in April 2022, showing dozens of dead bodies lying on the sidewalks. The thing is, it was done three days after Russian troops withdrew from the town, and its mayor confirmed this in the video message (without mentioning the bodies). <…> That story was used to manipulate international public opinion and fuel yet another wave of anti-Russian hysteria in the West.
 
📑 We investigated it thoroughly. The results are reflected in the report “Heirs of Goebbels: Falsification of the Events in Bucha and Bloody Staged Performances of the Kiev Regime” published by the International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis. The title of the report speaks for itself. The truth is that during the time that the town was under the control of the Russian armed forces, not a single local resident suffered from any violent action. But who in the West cares about truth?
 
⁉️ Will the Australian media and experts have enough decency to be objective and present the full picture, including the facts about the true nature of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi regime Russia is fighting and the atrocities it has committed against Russia and its citizens? There is plenty of information available. It does not take much to be honest.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s remarks in response to a media question about real threats to freedom of navigation for civilian vessels and global food security (October 13, 2026):

❓ Question: On October 6, crude oil tanker Aframax RIO en route from Novorossiysk to India was attacked by unmanned surface vessels in the Black Sea off the coast of Sochi. The Zelensky regime is deliberately escalating tensions in an attempt to disrupt navigation in the Black Sea and to undermine international economic cooperation. Why has the problem exacerbated at this particular point and is there any chance to resolve it by agreeing on an energy ceasefire or negotiating a new Black Sea deal?

💬 Maria Zakharova: Indeed, the Kiev regime is deliberately carrying out such attacks in order to destabilise global energy and food markets.

This is just another terrorist attack carried out by the Ukrainian military against civilian merchant vessels, which is apparently intended to compensate for the failures of Ukrainian militants on the battlefield. Since January, the Ukrainian military has carried out over 250 indiscriminate strikes against vessels carrying crude oil, grain, and other non-military cargoes. <...>

In response to Kiev’s relentless terrorist activity, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are implementing a comprehensive set of systematic measures to suppress the Ukrainian military combat capabilities, including by striking vessels and port infrastructure involved in military logistics.

I would like to emphasise that, as long as only the Russian-flagged vessels and foreign vessels operating in the interests of Russian economic operators were targeted in the Black Sea, freedom of navigation was not widely covered either by the West or the relevant international organisations. <...>

Our counterattacks which targeted exclusively facilities linked to the Kiev regime’s military-industrial complex have come as a painful blowback for Kiev. This explains why Zelensky and his handlers are seeking ways to mitigate the intensity of Russian military strikes. Their objective is clear: under the formal pretext of concern for global food security, they seek to secure a protected maritime route for supplying the Ukrainian military with weapons and to create yet another instrument for exerting political and economic pressure on Russia. <...>

As we know from our own experience, concluding memorandums and declarations without establishing effective implementation mechanisms is unlikely to meaningfully improve the situation. Kiev regularly violates the agreements it signs. <...>

Consider, finally, the Black Sea Grain Initiative of 2022-2023, which NATO countries used as a cover for supplying weapons to the Ukrainian military. <...>

Those now calling for achieving normalised navigation in the Black Sea are overlooking the key point: the current food security challenges are a direct consequence of Kiev’s actions, while its sense of impunity and the absence of consequences stem from the West’s irresponsible policies. <...>

Russia is a responsible and, without any exaggeration, critical participant in the global food market. Ukraine’s share of that market, by contrast, should not be overstated. To give just two examples, Russia accounts for around 26 percent of global wheat exports, compared with just 6 percent for Ukraine, and 20 percent of barley exports, compared with 5 percent for Ukraine.

☝️ Moreover, up to 70 percent of Ukrainian agricultural products go primarily to the EU and other Western countries that are by no means poor. <...>

Our friends and partners from the Global Majority countries know that Russia has never shied away from substantive dialogue on promoting global food security.

We are convinced that, at this stage, the most effective immediate measure would be to exert collective international pressure on Kiev as the main source of instability. This could produce more tangible results in the near term.

⚡️ Russia's High Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova:

The Ukrainian blockade of Alyoshki must be lifted to save civilian lives. People remain cut off from supplies of food, water and medicine. They include the elderly, women and children.

We are in contact with the US Side and Melania Trump’s team, which has expressed its willingness to help the city, about this dire situation.

Difficult negotiations are now underway to arrange the delivery of humanitarian supplies and the evacuation of people in urgent need of assistance.

❗️ The main cause of the humanitarian crisis is the blockade deliberately imposed by the Ukrainian armed forces. Ukrainian drones constantly patrolling the roads and remotely laid mines on roads and footpaths prevent aid from getting through.

All supplies reaching Alyoshki today are carried by hand or brought in on bicycles by people risking their lives. According to available information, the most recent volunteer convoy, travelling in vehicles marked “People”, was destroyed by Ukrainian strikes.

If the Ukrainian side stopped attacking and mining the routes used to supply the city’s residents, essential aid could be delivered and those in urgent need could be evacuated.

☝️ We will help all residents, regardless of their political views. People are our highest priority, and the value of every human life is unconditional.

Russia will do everything possible to save civilian lives.

🇷🇺10 октября Генеральный консул России в Сиднее З.Ф.Габиева передала персональное поздравление Президента Российской Федерации В.В.Путина проживающему в Брисбене жителю блокадного Ленинграда Эдварду Ефимовичу Райхелю по случаю его девяностолетия.

В 1941 году защищая город на Пулковских высотах погиб отец маленького Эдварда, от голода скончались бабушка и дедушка, сам он с мамой и сестрой пережили все ужасы блокады, но остались живы.

Вся трудовая жизнь Эдварда Ефимовича связана со служением Родине: 5 лет он защищал северные морские рубежи на атомной подводной лодке, а затем трудился в космической отрасли.

Коллектив Генконсульства присоединяется к теплым поздравлениям и от всей души желает Эдварду Ефимовичу крепкого здоровья, долгих лет жизни, неиссякаемого оптимизма и всего самого доброго.

💬 М.В.Захарова: 1 октября в Верховной Раде был зарегистрирован законопроект «О внесении изменений в некоторые законы Украины об обеспечении образовательных прав коренных народов Украины и лиц, принадлежащих к национальным меньшинствам (сообществам) Украины».

В частности, им вводится понятие «заведения общего среднего образования нацменьшинства (сообщества) Украины», т.е. заведения, в котором более 50% учащихся обучаются на языке соответствующего этнического меньшинства.

В школах с классами или группами, обучающимися на языке коренного народа или нацменьшинства, гарантируется право на использование их языков в образовательном процессе наряду с украинским, который остаётся государственным языком образования.

Школа нацменьшинства сможет включать в образовательные программы изучение национальной истории, культуры, традиций, символики и обычаев. Документы об образовании в таких учебных заведениях и приложения к ним могут дублироваться на языке нацменьшинства по заявлению родителей. Разрешается также общение между учителями и учениками на языках нацменьшинств вне учебного процесса.

Законопроект планируется принять на заседании Верховной Рады 12 октября. Такая спешка, судя по всему, обусловлена желанием Киева успеть к заседанию Евросовета 15-16 октября, чтобы продемонстрировать рвение по приведению законодательства в соответствие с нормами ЕС в сфере прав нацменьшинств, что является одним из требований на пути к евроинтеграции.

Но, как всегда, в случае с киевским режимом мы имеем дело с напёрсточниками.

Указанные в законопроекте права... распространяются исключительно на языки, являющиеся официальными языками ЕС, а также языки коренных народов Украины. <...> Русского языка, который является родным для миллионов жителей Украины, все эти «привилегии» не касаются. В это невозможно поверить нормальному человеку, но киевский режим на это пошёл. Минобразования Украины особо подчеркнуло этот факт. <...>

Киевский режим на словах выставляет себя защитником прав нацменьшинств, а на деле выстраивает в стране иерархию национальностей. Коренным народам и меньшинствам, говорящим на языках стран ЕС – расширенные права, для остальных – унижение, дискриминация и сегрегация.

Подобная стратегия представляет собой не просто отход от универсальных принципов защиты прав человека и нацменьшинств, закреплённых в международных документах, включая Международную конвенцию о ликвидации всех форм расовой дискриминации, Международный пакт о гражданских и политических правах, Европейскую хартию региональных языков или языков меньшинств. Это отмена их действия на территории Европы.

Однако с учётом того, что ЕС закрывает глаза на вопиющие факты системных нарушений прав человека на Украине, очевидно, что и нынешние манипуляции Киева сойдут ему с рук.

Деление граждан на людей первого и второго сорта, насаждаемое на государственном уровне, поощряет националистов и радикалов к оскорблениям и травле представителей «нетитульной нации». В полной мере это относится к этническим русским и русскоязычным. <...>

Несмотря на запреты, ограничения и штрафы, люди на Украине продолжают и говорить, и думать по-русски. А киевский режим при попустительстве и соучастии европейских спонсоров пытается насильственно изменить их национальную и языковую идентичность.

Призыв был услышан: буквально на днях свой репортаж и анализ представил ирландский журналист Чей Боуз, а вчера большое детализированное исследование было опубликовано экспертами Международной ассоциации по фактчекингу (Global Factchecking Network, GFCN).

В числе соавторов — расследователи из разных стран мира, в том числе из Греции, Бразилии, Италии, Франции, Словакии, Аргентины, Непала, Португалии и Польши. Результаты их кропотливой работы подтверждают данные, собранные в предыдущих материалах, а также вскрывают новые факты, подтверждающие фальсификацию.

В материале приводится разбор конкретных персоналий и имён, выбитых на мемориале, а также соответствующие аналитические выкладки: почти двести человек никак нельзя записать в «жертвы Бучи».

Убедительно доказано, что в дополнение к нескольким десяткам выявленных бойцов ВСУ, среди которых есть и члены неонацистского батальона, 26 человек из списка можно отнести к неофициальным комбатантам (то есть, это те, кто закидывали наших бойцов коктейлями Молотова, использовали взрывчатку и брали в руки оружие), 42 человека умерли за пределами Бучи от разных причин (есть даже умерший от онкологии), а у 73 человек, действительно, нет никакого цифрового следа.

💬 We expect an impartial and well-grounded assessment of events from the High Commissioner for Human Rights, but we are not getting one.

The methodology used by OHCHR to collect and verify data, particularly on Ukraine, raises very serious questions.

In practice, OHCHR leaves data verification to third parties. Questionable conclusions are then drawn from distorted information – but issued in the name of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

You blatantly ignore civilian casualties on the Russian Side, claiming that 95% of civilian casualties occur in territory controlled by Kiev. At the same time, you attribute nine out of ten crimes involving sexual violence to Russia, without the slightest basis.

👉 How can there be any talk of objectivity in these circumstances?

There is little point in analysing the reports of the so-called UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. Every quarter, it presents the world with increasingly absurd conclusions based on unreliable data.

But what can you expect from a body established under a bilateral agreement between Kiev and OHCHR back in 2014, funded by generous contributions from Western donors and receiving information exclusively from Kiev?! Does anyone believe it is impartial?

❗️ Meanwhile, attacks by Ukrainian militants since 2022 alone have resulted in more than 36,400 civilian casualties, including 9,141 deaths – and we are ready to substantiate these figures.

Mr High Commissioner, do you not think there is now an urgent need for an open discussion at the intergovernmental level of the methodology used by the UN, and OHCHR in particular, to collect and verify data?

☝️ I hope such a step could at least partly restore States’ trust in you, High Commissioner, and in the Office you head.

📅 #OTD in 1943, an uprising broke out at #Sobibor — the only successful mass escape by POWs from Nazi “death factories” during #WW2.

The Sobibor uprising was helmed by Alexander Pechersky, a Soviet POW, lieutenant of the Red Army, held among others in Sobibor. The Soviet officer performed a truly heroic feat — just in a few weeks, he managed to devise an escape plan, rally other prisoners and inspired them to fight the Nazis.

◼️ During #WWII, Germany established around 14'000 'death camps'. Among them, the so-called death factories became infamous as places where the Nazis herded their victims for the one purpose — annihilation.

Sobibor was among such “death factory”, established in the south-east of Nazi-occupied Poland, near the Western Bug River and the Polish-Soviet border. The camp was built alongside the railway line between the towns of Chełm and Włodawa.

POWs were transported to Sobibor in entire railway carriages, for one sole purpose — to be killed. The camp was turned into a veritable 'assembly line' for the mass murder of human beings. Each and every day, up to six trains carrying POWs arrived at Sobibor, including prisoners of war and civilians — elderly people, women and children.

At Sobibor, the Nazis starved their victims and exploited them to death. Inhuman medical experiments were conducted on POWs. People from Austria, Czechoslovakia, France and other countries were brought to the camp to be tortured. In June 1943, two special trains carrying children arrived at Sobibor from the Netherlands. In September 1943, a group of Soviet POWs arrived from the Minsk transit camp.

According to various estimates, the Nazis exterminated up to 250'000 POWs at Sobibor during the camp’s existence.

The Nazis turned Poland into one vast prison, where millions of people from every country in Europe perished after indescribable suffering.

The Sobibor camp was one of the death factories established by the Germans on Polish territory. Residents of the Polish village of Zhlobok-2 <...> wrote in a letter to the Red Army command that the inhabitants of villages neighbouring Sobibor knew well of the conditions in this horrific concentration camp.

Every day, more than 1'000 people of various nationalities were exterminated in the camp’s gas chambers. <...>

The Germans referred to this camp as a “button factory” and a “thread factory”...

⚔️ On 14 October 1943, an uprising broke out at Sobibor under the leadership of lieutenant Alexander Pechersky.

The POWs, who dared to challenge the enemy, engaged in an unequal battle. Overpowering 'SS' guards with their bare hands, prisoners rushed towards the main gate despite machine-gun fire from the watchtowers.

❗️Nothing could stop exhausted people determined to break free from Nazi enslavement.

As a result of the uprising, around 300 people managed to escape from the sheer hell on earth. Many of those who survived and made it to freedom joined the resistance movement and continued fighting the Nazis. Pechersky himself joined the Belarusian partisans and, in 1944, returned to the front, fighting the enemy as part of an assault battalion.

The #SobiborUprising became a testament to the unbending human will and strength of spirit — a symbol of the triumph of good over Nazi evil.

The crimes committed at Sobibor formed part of the charges brought against the Nazis at the Nuremberg Trials. In March 1962, eleven guards who had served at Sobibor and Treblinka stood trial in Kiev. Alexander Pechersky himself testified as a witness. All the Nazi criminals were sentenced to death.

Today, the Alexander Pechersky Foundation, together with the Russian Military Historical Society, museums and other organisations, is doing everything possible to ensure that the memory of the heroic feat of the Sobibor prisoners is carefully preserved and passed on to future generations.

📅 14 октября 1943 года произошло восстание в Собиборе — единственный успешный за весь период Второй мировой войны массовый побег узников гитлеровских «фабрик смерти».

Восстание в лагере Собибор возглавил советский военнопленный, лейтенант Красной армии Александр Печерский. Советский офицер совершил настоящий Подвиг — всего за несколько недель ему удалось разработать план побега, сплотить вокруг себя, казалось, отчаявшихся, обречённых на гибель измождённых узников и вдохновить их на бой с врагом.

◼️ В годы Второй мировой войны Германией было создано порядка 14 тысяч концентрационных лагерей. Среди них наиболее печальную известность получили т.н. лагеря смерти, куда гитлеровцы сгоняли своих жертв именно с целью их последующего уничтожения.

Одной из таких «фабрик смерти» был #Собибор, развёрнутый на юго-востоке оккупированной нацистами Польши (недалеко от реки Западный Буг и польско-советской границы). Лагерь был развёрнут на железнодорожном перегоне (между городами Хелмом и Влодавой).

Узников свозили в Собибор целыми вагонами и с одной единственной целью — убивать. Лагерь был превращён в настоящий конвейер по умерщвлению людей. Ежедневно в Собибор прибывали до шести эшелонов с заключёнными (как военнопленными, так и гражданскими — стариками, женщинами, детьми).

Своих жертв в Собиборе нацисты травили газом, морили голодом, добивали непосильным трудом. Над людьми проводили бесчеловечные медицинские опыты. Доставляли в лагерь для последующих пыток и издевательств пленных из Австрии, Чехословакии, Франции и других стран. В июне 1943 года в Собибор из Нидерландов ушли два специальных «детских» поезда. В сентябре 1943 года в Собибор прибыла группа советских военнопленных из Минского распределительного лагеря.

За всё время существования Собибора нацистами в нём было уничтожено, по разным данным, до 250 тысяч узников.

⚔️ 14 октября 1943 года в Собиборе вспыхнуло восстание под началом лейтенанта Александра Печерского.

Бросившие вызов врагу узники вступили в неравный бой. Смяв надзирателей-эсэсовцев буквально голыми руками, пленные ринулись к центральным воротам, несмотря на пулемётный огонь с вышек.

❗️Ничто не могло остановить людей, стремившихся вырваться из гитлеровского рабства.

В результате восстания около 300 человек сумели бежать из этого ада на земле. Многие выжившие, которым удалось спастись, вступили в ряды сопротивления и продолжили борьбу с фашистскими захватчиками. Сам Печерский примкнул к белорусским партизанам, а в 1944 году вновь бил врага на фронте в составе штурмового батальона.

Восстание в Собиборе стало олицетворением несокрушимости человеческой воли и силы духа, в буквальном смысле символом победы добра над нацистским злом. Не в силах вынести позор и пытаясь сокрыть следы своих преступлений против человечности, руководство СС приказало разрушить лагерь до основания.

Совершённые в Собиборе преступления стали частью обвинений против нацистов на Нюрнбергском трибунале. В марте 1962 года в Киеве перед судом предстали 11 охранников, служивших в Собиборе и Треблинке. В качестве свидетеля выступил сам Александр Печерский. Все подсудимые были приговорены к смертной казни.

Сегодня Фонд Александра Печерского вместе с Российским военно-историческим обществом, музеями и другими организациями делают всё для того, чтобы память о подвиге узников Собибора бережно сохранялась и передавалась молодым поколениям.

💬 Over the past seven days, criminal actions by Ukrainian militants in violation of international humanitarian law resulted in the deaths of at least 52 civilians, including five children. Kiev-controlled formations fired approximately 8,500 munitions at civilian targets in the Russian Federation.

On October 6, Ukrainian formations deliberately struck International Committee of the Red Cross (#ICRC) trucks and a humanitarian aid warehouse in Donetsk – an act of barbarity that violated international agreements and immunities. The Ukrainian armed forces carried out the drone strikes at night, which was the only reason no ICRC personnel were injured. The ICRC’s Moscow office stressed that humanitarian personnel and vehicles bearing the organisation’s emblem must be “respected and protected”.

The highest numbers of civilian casualties over the week were recorded in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Zaporozhye, Kursk and Kherson regions, as well as the DPR and LPR.

From October 5-11, attacks by Ukrainian neo-Nazis resulted in at least 326 civilian casualties: 274 civilians were injured, including 11 minors, and 52 were killed, including five children.

In total, Ukrainian armed formations fired approximately 8,527 munitions at civilian targets on Russian territory.

🕯 On October 9, Yeysk (a Russian city on the Sea of Azov coast in the Krasnodar Territory) honoured the memory of 214 children from the Yeysk orphanage who fell victim to the genocide perpetrated by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Great Patriotic War.

Crimes against children are among the most cynical and brutal manifestations of the genocide of the Soviet people. Such atrocities have #NoStatuteOfLimitations and can never be justified.

📃 Archival documents preserve direct evidence of the tragedy, which researchers and museum specialists continue to study. The Vladimir Samsonov Yeysk Museum of Local History works tirelessly to preserve and study these historical records and ensure that younger generations learn about the tragedy.

▪️ On October 9-10, 1942, the Nazis murdered 214 children from the Yeysk orphanage.

The children were locked inside gas vans, where carbon monoxide accumulated as the vehicles travelled. They had no chance of survival. All were orphans with serious medical conditions.

After the Red Army liberated the city, the mass grave was exhumed. The bodies of 214 murdered children were discovered. Many were holding hands. Some had walking sticks and crutches beside them, and their clothing had decayed.

📃 Lyonya Dvornikov, then aged about 14, miraculously escaped. The boy, who had lost both legs, managed to crawl into a neighbouring yard and hide in a haystack. From there, he witnessed the killings. His story became the basis for the documentary play “No Statute of Limitations. Leonid Dvornikov. On Behalf of Those Who Perished”.

The murder of these children was deliberate. The Nazis committed these atrocities methodically, with cold-blooded cynicism and without any military necessity.

⚡️ Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation:

The Press Bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (#SVR) reports that, according to information received by the SVR, the European Commission’s leadership is the main force behind the smear campaign launched in Europe against Rosatom and its involvement in the construction of Hungary’s Paks II NPP.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has explicitly tasked her staff with forcing Peter Magyar’s government to abandon cooperation with Russia on the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Brussels-controlled Politico Europe has been chosen as the campaign’s “mouthpiece”.

Pseudo-journalist Ben Makuch has been appointed its chief provocateur. Previously specialising in politically commissioned attacks on Russia, he has now reinvented himself as an “energy expert”.

EU bureaucrats have openly admitted that European suppliers cannot compete fairly with Rosatom in the nuclear energy market. This means that any alternative arrangement for building Paks II in Hungary would be less efficient and less safe.

Ursula expects her active role in driving Rosatom out of Hungary and replacing it with a Western company to be “duly rewarded”. She already has extensive experience of lobbying for major corporations for personal gain and concluding dubious multibillion-dollar contracts. The most striking example was the contract with US company Pfizer to supply COVID-19 vaccines.

The globalist sect running the EU, of course, takes no account of the views or interests of the Hungarian people.

☝️ The Hungarian authorities will face a difficult choice: give in to the media frenzy fuelled by Brussels and deprive the country of a reliable source of electricity capable of ensuring its energy security for decades to come, or stand firm and defend their citizens’ interests.

⚡️ Press release on the October 10 strikes at Riyadh international airport (October 11, 2026)

According to incoming information, on October 10 the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was subject to a massive missile strike.

▪️ The attack resulted in the death of 12 people, including citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Sudan and the United States. More than 300 people sustained injuries of varying severity.

According to preliminary reports from the Embassy of Russia in Saudi Arabia there are no Russian compatriots among the victims.

Moscow expresses its deep condolences to the families and friends of those killed and wishes speedy recovery to the wounded.

❗️ Russia condemns this attack and calls on the parties to the conflict on the Arabian Peninsula to completely give up strikes against civilian infrastructure facilities.

Russia’s position remains unchanged: there is no alternative to settling any crises in the region by political and diplomatic means while ensuring the interests of all the states in this region without exception.

⚡️ Об ударах по международному аэропорту Эр-Рияда (11 октября 2026 года)
 
По поступающей информации, 10 октября международный аэропорт имени Короля Халеда в Эр-Рияде подвергся массированному ракетному обстрелу.

В результате атаки погибли 12 человек, среди которых подданные Саудовской Аравии, а также граждане Бангладеша, Египта, Иордании, Сирии, Палестины, Судана и США. Ещё более 300 человек получили ранения разной степени тяжести. Причинён серьёзный материальный ущерб.

По предварительным данным Посольства России в Саудовской Аравии, наших соотечественников среди пострадавших нет.

В Москве выражают глубокие соболезнования родным и близким погибших и желают скорейшего выздоровления раненым.

❗️ Россия осуждает данную атаку и призывает участников конфликтов в зоне Аравийского полуострова полностью отказаться от ударов по объектам гражданской инфраструктуры.

Неизменной остаётся российская позиция о безальтернативности урегулирования любых кризисных ситуаций в регионе политико-дипломатическими средствами при обеспечении интересов всех без исключения расположенных в этом районе государств.

✍️ 80 years ago, the International Military Tribunal in #Nuremberg delivered its verdict against 24 top-ranking leaders of Nazi Germany.

Most defendants were found guilty of the terrible crimes against peace and humanity, as well as war crimes. Twelve Nazi leaders — sentenced to death by hanging, while the others sentenced for life or lengthy terms of imprisonment.

It was the very unprecedented nature of Nazi ideology that made it necessary for taking equally unprecedented political and legal measures — the establishment of the Nuremberg and Tokyo Trials. <...>

❗️ It was the 'Judgment of Mankind' on Hitler's Nazism — the most dangerous manifestation of ideological, political and military barbarism.

A 'Sacred Beacon' in Nuremberg served as bearing the Promethean flame of international criminal justice. Yet, imperfect, with the retroactive application of law, it nevertheless shone, illuminating human path towards the ideals of universal justice.

The verdict of the Nuremberg Trials was based on an immense body of irrefutable evidence, firmly established and thoroughly examined. A vast archive of testimony was compiled. The voices of the victims were heard loud and clear — that was the enduring ethical significance of Nuremberg, which was both an act of justice and an act of remembrance. <...>

The Nuremberg Trials appeared before the world like Athena, born fully armed from the head of Zeus. The four Victorious Powers set about establishing a new legal order amid the ruins of defeated statehood and bringing the vanquished to justice.

The legitimacy of the Nuremberg proceedings and the binding force of its verdict was based on the collapse of the Nazi state, as well as on the Allied law established by the Instrument of Surrender.

The Tribunal's legitimacy, meanwhile, was rooted in natural law and universal moral values, above all, justice. It was founded on the conviction that certain crimes are so monstrous that they violate the very idea of humanity (delicta juris gentium), and that such crimes must be punished under all circumstances.

👉 That fundamental principle made it possible not only to cut through the Gordian knot of fascist evil and punish those responsible without departing from the bounds of the law, but also to establish a hierarchy of values in which law stands above force and crimes against humanity are subject to #NoStatuteOfLimitations. <...>

Nuremberg was an act of retribution and a defining moment in establishing the legal foundations of the post-war world. The Tribunal became a hammer brought down upon a criminal Nazi statehood and its legal system.

❗️ It was for the first time in history, categories of crimes were established that would become the 'alpha' and 'omega' of international criminal law.

Article 6 of the Charter of the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal (IMT) defined three categories of crimes:

1. Crimes against Peace;
2. War Crimes;
3. Crimes against Humanity.

A war of aggression was declared the "supreme international crime".

Naturally, Donald Trump immediately wished Vladimir Putin a happy birthday, offering his best wishes for success and well-being. He also conveyed greetings from his wife, Melania.

Vladimir Putin thanked his American counterpart for his congratulations and kind words. He stressed that we value the attention that the US President and his team devote to dialogue with Russia, despite their busy agenda of domestic and Middle Eastern affairs.

One notable moment in the conversation [between the Presidents of Russia and the US], which I would like to highlight, was our President’s expression of gratitude to the US First Lady for her active humanitarian work, particularly her contribution to efforts to reunite children with their families separated during the Ukrainian conflict.

Regarding the concern expressed over the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki, Kherson Region, it was agreed that Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova would remain in regular contact with Melania Trump’s office.

🤝 The two Leaders discussed in detail preparations for major economic initiatives, including possible supplies of Russian petroleum products to the US and global markets. A special statement has already been issued on this matter.

It was stressed that Kiev’s attempts to halt the advance of Russian troops along the entire line of contact by striking deep inside our country have no prospect of success.

❗️ Our Armed Forces hold the initiative across the entire front and are steadily advancing. At the same time, Vladimir Putin made it clear that our position on the goals and objectives of the special military operation remains unchanged, as does our readiness for a political and diplomatic settlement aimed at achieving a lasting, sustainable peace.

It was particularly stressed that, while the Presidents’ previous conversation had addressed the possibility of resuming trilateral talks involving the US and Ukraine immediately after the State Duma elections, the situation has now changed.

In its attempts to disrupt our elections by launching an exceptionally large-scale drone attack on Moscow, other cities and polling stations, as well as specific individuals involved in organising the elections, on the main day of voting, the Kiev regime effectively prevented an immediate resumption of the negotiating process. As the President said, we will now consider when these talks can resume.

Donald Trump said he would instruct his team to convey the relevant messages to the Ukrainian delegation, which is currently in Miami for contacts with American representatives.

☝️ Vladimir Putin particularly stressed that the scope for diplomacy on Iran is far from exhausted. An agreement with Tehran is both possible and necessary.

The President mentioned that yesterday, in Turkmenistan, he had discussed the current situation in detail with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He noted that, despite the harsh public statements made from time to time, the Americans continue their indirect dialogue with the Iranians through Qatar. <...>

💬 Director of the Russian MFA Department for Multilateral Human Rights Cooperation Grigory Lukyantsev:

On October 7, the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council (#HRC) concluded in Geneva.

Over four and a half weeks, the Russian delegation, participating as an observer, actively promoted our approaches to the human rights agenda, advocated constructive dialogue and opposed the politicisation of the Council’s work.

A highlight was the Joint Statement initiated by Russia on behalf of 11 countries to mark this year’s 60th anniversary of the adoption of the International Covenants on Human Rights.

⚠️ The Session once again demonstrated the HRC’s continued degradation at the hands of a familiar group of Western countries and its transformation into an instrument for pressuring “unwelcome” states that dare to pursue independent domestic and foreign policies.

Russia’s firm footing and continued prominence on the international stage remain a source of frustration for certain “beacons of democracy”, which seek to harm our country by any means available.

At the 63rd Session, Western countries focused on pushing through an anti-Russian resolution extending the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Russia. The EU initiative was overtly anti-Russian and bore no relation to reality. 👉 As a result, a majority of HRC members – 26 countries – did not support it.

In their desire to punish Russia, our opponents did not hesitate to misuse the HRC’s agenda. Once again, the Council adopted a resolution on technical assistance to Georgia aimed at advancing territorial claims to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Against this backdrop, the events organised by the Russian delegation during the Session met a clear need for reliable information about the situation in Russia and in the special military operation zone.

• Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for #KievRegimeCrimes drew considerable attention in Geneva with his statements at the Session. He also held a dedicated side event and a briefing for foreign and Russian media, presenting photographic and video evidence of Kiev’s violations of its obligations under international human rights law and international humanitarian law.

• Mikhail Melekh, Russian Foreign Minister's Special Representative for International Cooperation in Ensuring the Right to Freedom of Religion, drew the HRC’s attention to numerous violations of the rights of believers in Ukraine and presented a report on Kiev’s persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

• Georgy Muradov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, in his address to the Session, spoke about manifestations of racism by the Kiev regime against the people of Crimea.

• A representative of Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova briefed the Council on Russophobia directed at independent national human rights institutions. The Commissioner’s Office was wrongfully stripped of its “A” accreditation status on political grounds, depriving it of the ability to participate independently in international human rights forums.
